I have teied a few other brands and they all seem to take cuts in at least one area...but these do at least great in all areas.

Nice clean base and call quality.They are not as bulky but not as petite as your may expect. Wish they could cut down on the outward protruding. It will stay in your ear for most excerpting however when I tried to put my motorcycle helmet on with them also on "the main reason I purchased them" in order to block out wind noise they protrude just too much. If I didn't have this expectation in mind I would have given them a 5 out of 5.

The choice to use only the foam eartips is what my biggest issue was. I know some will say just buy some 3rd party eartips, but I shouldn't have to do that. They should have had both the silicone and foam so people could choose their preference. There were a few other issues which came and went which wouldn't have bothered me if they were just little hiccups over a year, but this happened all in a week. Random drops in connection and sometimes when taking out the earbuds from the case the tap function would wig out and keep reacting like someone is tapping it(happened with bothsides which is very unlikely for both tapsensors to be malfunction so it is some type of software bug when connecting). Factory reset 3 times and went to the sony troubleshoot page and issues were still happening. Too many issues to keep hurting my ears over. I own the xm5 cups and have they xm3 cups as well. This is the first of the xm's actually the first in a long time of many sony products I've gotten where i was disappointed. Returned them hopefully they fix the issues with the WF10000xm5.

I can hear quite well for phone calls. No calls dropped. Nice touch controls. I like the magnetic case. The material of the earbud tips are comfortable. My only gripe is the actual noise cancellation seems to be quite lacking

Great sound, and great functionality in adjusting sound and functions to my liking, I like the lite color tone as it doesn't stand out so much. Easy to charge, good charge time, and stays in ear during a jog. I held back one star because I would like to see it a little smaller and fit not feeling like it could fall out, and mostly because the price is on the high side. Only had a few weeks to enjoy.

King of true wireless headphones

The new and improved moisture resistance allows me to wear these in the gym or in humid environments without worry. Sound is amazing as usual. Noise canceling is top notch, and the ambient sound mode is one of the best I've heard from a true wireless headphone. I'm most impressed by the compact size of the new charging case that now supports wireless charging. Big ups to Sony on that one. Battery life on the headphones and case are exceptional Works great with the app and is optimized well. Took me a few uses to get used to their new noise isolating ear tips, I would have liked some in-between sizes as the mediums are slightly too large and the smalls are slightly too small. They can get a bit uncomfortable after prolonged use and can fatigue your ear canals, so if you're going to wear them for over a couple hours I would reccomend having some silicon tips on hand.

Did a lot of research before buying and these do not disappoint. The bass is surprisingly good for earbuds. I did side- by-side comparison of several songs with new AirPod Pro’s and these Sony’s, plus many hours of wear and use... There are strengths and weaknesses. The Pro’s are more comfortable, and integrate much better with iPhone (things like reading new text message and offering speech to voice reply, reading calendar and other reminders to you, and a long list of other features). The Sony’s sound difference on anything with bass, is drastically better with these Sony’s. Either bud can be prone to fall out when leaning head to extremes of horizontal, but the Pro’s do stay in better. If your priority is sound quality, get these Sony’s. If using an iPhone, the Pro’s still sound very good, are more comfortable and easier/simpler/quicker to take in and out of ear, and the compatibility is unmatched. My wife has the Pro’s. For me, I went with these Sony’s and also new AirPod 3 for the features…my AirPod 3’s get more use due to convenience, comfort and features and I think sound is comparable to Pro’s, but no sound deadening and other feature losses. The Sony’s are my go to for music and sound deadening… absolutely love them. That said, if I could only have one pair, it would be hard to pass on either of two Apples mentioned due to items mentioned… as well as better fit in pocket. Case size difference is noticeable in a Jean pocket with Sony as largest, the two Apples are visibly smaller. I have owned Sony XM4 over 5 months, borrowed wife’s Pro’s a few times, and had new Airpod 3’s about 4 weeks.

Noise cancelling and ambient sound features are really good. Ability to set preset settings based on where you are at is nice, too. Cons: They are a bit big. I am not too big of a fan of the design and the bulkiness. It does make it less comfortable than other brands. Another thing I don't like is that they sometimes randomly go from ambient to noise cancelling. Or if I wear one ear bud, it is fine for a while then randomly shuts off.

I thought I would be able to hear people talking to me. There are settings but I could not get it uto work satisfactorily. I have big ear canals. I could not get a good seal with any of the provided tips. I tried very popular memory foam aftermarket tips and could not get those to seal either. It was unfortunate because otherwise these were keepers.

Ear canals vary in size from person to person, and can also vary in size from the left to the right sides. To keep the headphones from falling out, please select the right size earbud tips. We also recommend wearing the earbuds properly.
Gently pull up on the top of your ears, put the earbud tips in your ear canal, and then twist the earbuds into place. This makes sure the earbuds are firmly in the ear canal.

They are: 1, wireless capabilities; 2, noise cancellation; 3, music quality; and 4, call quality. First, wireless quality is just average. If I take the earbud out when talking to someone, it will not reconnect to Bluetooth without placing it back in the case first. This is poorly design. Second, noise cancellation is pretty good. I don’t really have any complaints. The ambient sound is just okay. It sounds hollow sometimes and doesn’t filter out unwanted noise very good. Third, the music quality is also just okay. I haven’t played around with the equalizer options very much. But I was expecting better bass performance. Last but to me the most important, the call quality…. These earbuds fail miserably at this task. It deserves 1/2 star. Every person I call says the same thing. They can’t hear me very clearly and their voice sounds shallow. Overall this is a very disappointing product, especially since it’s considered top of the line. About the only positive I can give these earbuds is the battery life. But what good is a long lasting horrible experience?

For connectivity (Bluetooth) related concerns, please try the following:
Bring the headset and the Bluetooth device within 1 m (3 feet) from each other.
When pairing for the first time after purchasing, initializing, or repairing the headset, the headset enters pairing mode automatically if you remove the headset from the charging case. When you pair a second or subsequent device, put the headset units into both ears, then hold your fingers to the touch sensors on both the left and right units at the same time for about 5 seconds to enter pairing mode.
When pairing a device once again after initializing or repairing the headset, you may be unable to pair the device if it retains pairing information for the headset (iPhone or other device). In this case, delete the pairing information for the headset from the device and pair them again.
Restart the connected device such as a smartphone or a computer you use, and pair the headset and the device again.
Reset the headset.
Initialize the headset, and pair the headset and the device again.
For optimum performance, we also recommend to ensure the software is updated with version 2.0.0. You can check and verify the software by launching the Sony Headphones Connect app.

I have over 80 running miles and about 20 mountain bike miles* with these earbuds. I upgraded from Bose Sports tethered earbuds. I was looking for something with noise cancellation didn’t want to mess with cord. I went with these as the Bose did not have water resistance option at this price point. I sweat a lot and these don’t fall out. The earbud pads took about (3) weeks to get use to, but I still prefer Bose ear silicone tips. I will probably buy aftermarket ear silicone tips. I owned previous Bose earbuds for over 5 years. I run with glasses and sometimes I get this tapping sound on my left earbud, like someone is lightly tapping earbud with a finger. I don’t know if it’s earbud tapping against eye glass frame when foot lands, but I just remove earbud and re-insert. Noise goes away. Sound is excellent, but I don’t turn up volume too high as I don’t want to lose my hearing. You cannot get rid of wind noise, but my previous Bose earbuds didn’t either. I also used these on a three hour flight. No issues. Dulled the jet noise. * Ride with headband over earbuds, so no chance to fall out. Pros: Rich Sound Ambient noise option( If in a remote area I can still hear surroundings without taking earbuds out) Easy set-up with Applewatch 7 series and control volume on runs Cons: Getting use to earbud tips

Not as great as the headphone series but these last pretty much about 7 to 8hrs of my work day before i need to charge them. The only issue is that the ear gets a little sore from wearing them after long use time. I would recommend getting some 3rd party ear foamies that have a range of sizes since the 3 that come with it are either too small or too big.

They improved on pretty much everything from XM3's while maintaining great sound. I don't love the tips though, so I swapped them out with Spinfit CP100's and they fit perfectly. Only disappointment is no multi-device pairing. Would have been icing on the cake. The default sound is clear but warm with good bass extension, no piercing highs or muddiness. And like the XM3's these take to custom equalizing within the app like a duck to water. No distortion that I can hear. Overall very impressed, happy with the purchase despite the high price. If you care a lot about how your music sounds, these are the ones for you. Other buds will get you 75% of the way there for half the price, but that last 25% is immediately noticeable when you listen with these.
