I have turned off the speak for ambient sound and still consistently changes back and forth. They are solid earbuds with great battery life but noise cancellation doesn’t work at good as I hoped.

These earbuds are definitely more on the premium side but they are well worth the money thanks to the amazing noise cancelling and comfortable ear tips. Even in the middle of a busy subway I can barely hear the people around me and that's just because the song I'm listening to has a pause or silence. Overall, S-tier product and I would recommend these to anyone whose looking for good earbuds, especially when it's on sale.

These are impressive!! Sound quality is the best of the best especially with the included equalizer and the adaptive sound controls are excellent. The noise cancellation, speak to chat, equalizer, can all automatically change based on my movements or even my location. If you have the previous version, the XM3s, these are are a big step up in every way. Phone call quality has also improved massively. These are now the only earbuds I use, even for phone calls. If you, like me, have been using the AirPods Pro as your main headphones, give them to someone. If you are using any of Samsung’s earbuds…seriously, don’t do that. If you have the XM3’s and talk on the phone, replace them with these. I wish I could have purchased them in black but just like when the XM3s came along, Best Buy was out of stock, for weeks. Repeatedly.

That's why it's 4 stars. But I did not play around with the EQ on the app, just leave it 'off' Also, the tip kind of hurt my ear a bit. Sony decided to use the foam type and it might be why. Could be different for someone else. Noise cancellation works really good. It is on the pricey side but the sound quality is worthed.

When changing the earbud tips, try the earbud tip sizes in order from the larger ones to the smaller ones. The size of the left and right earbud tips may be different. These were comfortable, only experienced some pain after long hours of wearing them. Case was great!

The earbuds are great and the noise-cancelling is probably the best one you can get in earbuds. I'd still recommend earbuds with passive noise cancellation to avoid headache and other health issues. Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The sound isolation and ambient noise functions can often be bothersome if there is a sudden and jarring change (i.e sudden gust of wind, person talking to you after a long period of silence, sudden loud vehicle, etc) but it has the capability to block out or let in the general white noise of life well. They fit in my ears very well though they require periodic adjustment while running. The battery life is phenomenal to the point where I have often forgotten that they need to be charged at all. There is a reason these are the highest rated on the market, they hit high marks on everything, but I would only rate them 5 stars if they were at the $200 mark that I purchased them at on sale. At the $280 pricepoint, they feel a bit lackluster and the diminishing returns in cost begin to show.

Battery lasts all day at work, they pause whatever is playing when you take the earbuds out and they have far distance. Would and have bought again (second pair)

Expensive for a short term investment

The headphones still work and they work great but the case is failing so it doesn’t serve to store and charge the headphones back up. The charge is not holding for very long either. The sound quality is fantastic and noise canceling is a dream. Was inside a noisy gym and turning on noise cancelling killed nearly all the external sound and I hadn’t engaged music at that point. If they would make ot possible to service the case I might rate it higher but I don’t see any support for older headphones and the charging case. Connectivity is good. No issues there but don’t plan on swapping easily.

Great Gift for an Audiophile on the Go

My friend is a bit of an audiophile and usually opts for over-the-ear headphones as they tend to offer a better music seal and he was pretty adamant that there were no earbuds that could replace them. After looking at a few other reviews for these Sony buds, I got them as a gift for his birthday and after tuning them to his liking are they his daily go-to!

Best sound quality I have ever heard on an truly wireless earbuds. The noise cancellation is the best especially when compared to Air pods pro & galaxy buds+. Sound is on bass side however it can well balanced with slight changes to app. When compared to WH-1000XM3, noise cancellation is obviously better on headphones however, WF-1000XM4 does the job for their size. Foam felt slight weird initially but you'll get used to its feel. Over all the best true wireless in-ear headphones money can buy.

decent earbuds, but not life changing

I was really excited about the earbud version but it really didn’t live up to my expectations. The noice cancelling is great but my issue is the foam tips, very similar to that of the headphones. I am not a fan. You can’t really clean them, since you run the risk of the tips deteriorating. Sony suggests using water(?) but I would not consider that cleaning them.
