Easily the vanguard of the industry
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Super powerful and comfortable to wear. Easily the most soundly designed and ruggedly made earbuds . I use them with my iPhone 13 Pro Max and my Samsung Galaxy Ultra 22. I really enjoy the fact that if your buds start getting low on juice, I can just put them in their case for about 20 minutes and recharged enough for a couple of more hours with requiring a plug-in to an outlet. Get ‘‘em while you can.

To large to be happy
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Loved the quality and the Alexa but they didn't fit in my ears regardless of what rubber pod caps I used. They looked really big also. So, I bought the Air-Pods Pro 2 which sound great and fits much better.

The best out of 10 pairs ive tried. FINALLY.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My journey to find the best in ear headset Samsung bean very much hurt my ears. Samsung buds pro sounded amazing and had cool feature to mute music when you talked. But they fell out all the time. Next was Sony XM3 and loved them but they were heavy. But the 360 sound was game changer for games and premium sound apps. Next was Bose comfort sound was horrible, app was equally bad, would not ever recommend bose, it was embarrassing bad UI. Razer hammer head, again sound subpar and lacked alot of features. Air pods weirdly stayed in my ear okay but having a ln adroid doesnt make sense, the sound quality was clean and thats it, no punch i was looking for and air pod pros would not stay in my ears. Next jabra 85 and elite 75, they sounded identical and the 75 felt good in the ear so i used them the mosy. The jabra app is the best out of them all. But then, finally xm4 came to my door and finally finnally i can say ive found PERFECT turely wireless ear buds. The sound is mind blowingly the best and it works extrmely the best with samsung phone. Highly recommended. My one and only complaint, since i had xm3. The packaging was very boring to open. That xm3 experience was high class fun to open. Stupid i know but the details you know. I get what they were going for with this packaging but ehhh.

Thank you for the positive feedback. We really appreciate the time you took to share so many details about your experience with the headphones. The WF-1000XM4 headphones feature intuitive touch control settings—for example, tap on the left earbud to change from Noise Cancelling to Ambient Sound and long tap for Quick Attention, or double tap on the right to skip to the next track. What’s more, you can assign your own functions to each earbud using the Headphones Connect app. Thank you for choosing Sony!

Sound great! Feel horrible
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Audio quality with the XM4 is just fine, and with the EQ in the app, you can always get what you want out of them. The XM4s stay in place way better than the XM3s AND They seem to function better overall. I will say, after using the xm3s for over a year in harsh and dirty environments, and abusing the case, they held up great and still feel like a premium earbud. The newer XM4 model feels significantly cheaper to the touch. The case feels flimsy and cheap and the Foam tips are SUPER uncomfortable. I swapped the factory tips for some silicone tips and they're way more comfortable now. If you plan on using these, get a different set of earbud tips.

Posted .Hi IgnacioO, Thank you so much for your honest review. If the sizes of the earbud tips do not fit your ears, please try and twist the headset unit to fit it snugly into the ear canal, and adjust the positioning of the headset unit until it fits comfortably. Also, you can use the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app to help you to determine which earbud tips are most suitable for you to achieve the optimal noise cancellation effect.
I hope this helps!

Good sound but......
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These headphones are certainly stylish, seem to be well made and the sound quality is very good. However, I maintain that the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds produce a better quality sound and have better noise cancelling capabilities. This might be due to the fact that Sony's WF-1000XM4 fit is atrocious. I have tried everything and they simply will not stay put for more than 10 minutes in my ears. And without a tight fit this also hurts their noise cancelling abilities. And I have tried all the tricks - rolling the earbuds and even tried all the sizes of earbuds. Nothing works. The only the time I was able to see a decent fit was while sitting and the sound was better. I think Sony uses tact on them to get them to stay in the ears of those featured in their commercials.

Great only if you don't need laptop compatibility
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This review would have been excellent if I had been able to connect to my laptop. I was able to use the Sony app on my phone and loved the service with Google being able to voice direct text, call and music. Quality and comfort are suburb. However, I wanted these to use for virtual meetings with zoom & teams. When I tried to download the Sony app to my laptop, I was told it is not compatible. Say what? I tried to just connect via Bluetooth. My laptop could never detect it. I tried Sony website, help document, google search, etc. I could not connect. As the quality is exceptional otherwise, I swapped with my son Bose earbuds. He's loving his new sony earbuds. Morale - don't buy if you want for laptop compatibility.

Almost There but Ultimately Dissatisfied
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The ANC on these buds is the best in its category. They did managed to sound better than my AirPods Pro and my Jabra Active Elite 75t after adjusting the EQ in the APP. The APP is great just to add. Now the good ends here and let’s begin on the bad. IMO ultimately these buds are in their Beta stage. They would frequently disconnect from my IPhone XS Max which would then entail me dedicating the better part of 10 minutes to reconnect them. The disconnecting got old really fast to say the least. SONY really needs to look further into the disconnecting issue even though a firmware was released a couple of weeks ago. The phone call quality was abysmal. People would tell me that I sounded like was calling out of an exhaust shaft. Multi device pairing doesn’t exist yet for these buds which is a real inconvenience and not to mention embarrassing for SONY. And my last complaint is on the fit and lack of stability. I had three close calls, all while sitting down, where one would fall out of my ear. Luckily I was able to catch them each time. I would like to say that I really appreciate BestBuy for allowing me to return this product. I may consider these buds again in the future but only after all the issues have been addressed and fixed by SONY. At the staggering price of $278 a consumer should not be made to compromise at all. I was expecting quality and ease of use and what I ended up with is utter dissatisfaction. Again, I am hopeful that SONY addresses and fixes the issues.

Posted .Hi NoCompromises,
We're glad that you like the noise canceling function, sound quality, and app (Sony Headphones Connect) features of the headphones. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. It's unfortunate that the headphones were already returned. These steps might have changed your experience with these headphones:
Connectivity
-Set the headset to “Priority on stable connection” mode (using the Sony Headphones Connect app)
-Bluetooth communications may be disabled, or noise or audio dropout may occur under the following conditions:
a. When there is a human body between the headset and the Bluetooth device
In this case, put the Bluetooth device in the same direction as the antenna of the headset to improve the Bluetooth communications.
b. When there is an obstacle, such as metal or a wall, between the headset and the Bluetooth device.
c. In places with wireless LAN, where a microwave oven is used, electromagnetic waves are generated, etc.
d. Where there are other wireless communication audio devices or other people nearby, such as in train station premises or on a crowded train
-Delete pairing data, and then pair the unit and device again.
-Reset the headset.
-Initialize the headset, and pair the headset and the device again.
Call Quality
-Turn up the volume of the headset and the connected device. Re-establish the connection between the headphones and your source device. Select HFP or HSP for the profile. You can also check the settings of the app that you are using for mic sensitivity/volume if available.
Fit
-Change the earbud tips to ones that fit more snugly in your ears. When changing the earbud tips, try the earbud tip sizes in order from the larger ones to the smaller ones. The size of the left and right earbud tips may be different.
-The “Sony | Headphones Connect” app will help you to determine which earbud tips are most suitable for you to achieve the optimal noise cancellation effect.
Thanks for sharing your review. We hope you consider Sony in your future purchase.
Regards,
-Ralph

Good earbuds but some Minor QC issues
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Headphone audio quality and ANC are very good. App is well thought out and easy to manage EQ settings. The only issues I have with this is that it will occasionally stop playing audio through my headphones, but instead my speakers. Its an easy fix however as you just place them back in the case and take them out again. The other issue is cleanliness. My store only had the white in stock, (more like a stone gray color) and the eartips, being memory foam, get dirty really quickly. Using water or any form of cleaning outside of using a small, dry cloth is also apprently not recommended. Get the black if you can, itll save you from some ugly looking eartips.

Don't pass these Sony's up folks.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have the silver versions as well. Heres a quick breakdown. Audio quality- LDAC codec on these Sony buds for android users is phenomenal. In the Sony app change the connection from stability to audio quality. In addition you can go to developer options and tweak the frequencies as well if you want to try out the aptx codec at 48khz. Not to mention there are other sample rate frequencies as well ie 88.2khz. Depending on which music player you use this can come in very handy even if you don't have a music player that's high fidelity you can get great sound. Now the mids treble and bass are excellent with separation and details clearly present. TIME TO DISCOVER THE LDAC CODEC FOLKS! The battery life is great whether it be anc on or off. The fact that you can get this battery life with the strong anc it offers in a small device is incredible. The fit is excellent but try to use all the eartips for a proper fit. Try to screw in the buds in the ear rather than just pushing it in. Style and durability is there but not only that the call quality is good. Again the call quality improvement from the 3s is a big improvement. No more "I cant hear you" those dreadful words for Bluetooth users. Turn off your voice assistant to gain the ability to use either bud separately. Even on aac codec these buds provide excellent sound. Sbc as well and with sbc codec you can maximize your battery life. If it is within your means or if you cant stand the noise around you and like music do consider these buds as an option Disclaimer In no way do i play favorites with electronic gadgets.... Just the store where i get them from do I play favorites.

I’m torn between these and Bose QC buds.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ok…I bought these Sony’s and the Bose Quiet comfort. I used both. The Bose beats the Sony in comfort and fit, hands down. ANC is superb on both…I personally think the Bose are better. Sony is highly customizable through the app. Bose, not so much. Audio quality is great. The Bose sound a tad bit warmer but the Sony’s have a customizable EQ. Sony’s speak to chat feature is pretty cool…it senses when you start talking, pausing the music and turning off ANC. I’d actually keep the Bose instead of the Sony’s IF the Bose let you skip tracks forward with the RIGHT bud. Lots of times I only wear right at work. Have to be able to fast forward tracks! And the Bose case…it’s HUGE. The Sony’s case is tiny, fits easily in pocket. I’ll probably keep the Sony’s.

Referring to step 2, check if the headset is properly worn on your ears. Wear the headset so that the earbud tip is comfortably situated as deep in the ear canal as possible.
