Overall good earbuds. I prefer the Jabra Elite models around this same price point, but these are good. If you don't need earbuds, give the Sony headphones a try.

Sound quality is outstanding, the headphones build quality is great, the case not so much. Sadly i return my headphones, for one reason. They only come with memory foam eartips and after probably 20 minutes start be uncomfortable. So i got the m3 and came with 7 pairs and been happy with those.

Phenomenal sound quality, great battery life, noise cancellation is top notch. Super comfortable, I can sleep in them which you can’t say about the airpod pros. Beats AirPods Pro, in every respect accept it isn’t as friendly with an apple device. Still easy to use tho, sound quality is so good I might swap my iPhone 13 pro for a galaxy just to experience the LDAC quality.

"Disappointingly uncomfortable Sony earbuds. Despite promising sound quality, the design lacks ergonomic considerations. Prolonged use leads to discomfort, impacting the overall experience. The fit seems awkward, and they tend to slip out easily. Sony's renowned audio prowess is overshadowed by the discomfort, making these earbuds a less-than-ideal choice for those prioritizing comfort during extended use."

The Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) is at least on par with Apple which is the class leader, and I love the Sony headphone app which give you far more controllability over these than AirPods (which have very few personalized choices) and, best of all, the equalizer function to set the sound profile to my personal liking. If you like bass, you can really feel it at the higher settings.

The sound is pretty good, but they aren't the most comfortable for me personally. The right ear bud especially starts to make my ear a little sore after a little while, but the sound quality is pretty good. The noise cancelling is ok; my Sennhaiser headphones are much better for this, but these ear buds work great while I'm at the gym. I did have some issues when connecting to my laptop and phone at the same time: they'll just disconnect from the laptop randomly, but having it connect to just device at a time fixes the issue. Maybe the next firmware update will make these feature better.

Hi ElizabethR, While we're glad that you like the sound quality, we regret that these headphones aren't comfortable enough. This is definitely not the experience we'd like you to have. Sony values the opinions of customers and is always striving to provide the best experience possible.

For comfortable listening experience, please select the right size earbud tips. We also recommend wearing the earbuds properly.
Gently pull up on the top of your ears, put the earbud tips in your ear canal, and then twist the earbuds into place. This makes sure the earbuds are firmly in the ear canal.

Are you wondering if these sound as good as everyone advertises? If you have previous experience with Sony's over-the-ear WH-1000XM2 or M3. Then you're in for a big treat! These sound exactly the same as those if not better. Obviously, you need to set the expectation that these will never hit as hard as over the ear cans but these small little magical buds will bring you an experience unlike any other buds you tried on. The first time I tried them on, I had a hard time trying to see what size my ears was. These buds use memory foam inserts instead of silicon based inserts. They do stay in my ear snug. I noticed after 30 minutes my left ear began to feel sore ( if that's the word to use). Not sure about if I was twisting and positioning it right or if i was using the wrong size inserts. After playing around with Small and med inserts, I realized that my left year requires a small insert and my right ear uses a med size. Don't give up on them if you have the same problem. It's a matter of figuring out which inserts are right for you. No other problems to report after using them for 5 months.

A great sounding set of buds with excellent sound cancelling let down by random connection issues and a history of quality issues out of the box. Let me start out by saying this is the 4th set of WF-1000XM4s I've owned, with 3 coming from this purchase though replacements. I had a set a while back and returned them because I found them not to be comfortable. I revisited this after I realized I didn't give them enough of a chance and now that I've been able to revisit I have no problem wearing them for extended periods of time now. That said the second and third sets I owned had the pinging/voice resonance issue noticed during podcasts or on the phone. I noticed it in the second set within minutes of using them and replaced them same day. The third set was less pronounced so I gave it a couple of days and had those exchanged too. The current set? No pinging issues whatsoever, but in the last couple of weeks have developed connection issues. I factory reset them and that helped for 2 days and started again. I'm now past my return period with Best Buy and stuck with them. I wouldn't bother with exchanging at this point and would much rather my money back and wash my hands of them. I've tried talking with Best Buy multiple times and it seems that's not an option so they'll be going into a drawer at this point. Knowing what I know now I'd stock with my Beats Studio Buds which have been reliable or reach for new AirPods Pro 2s. As said I do love the sound of the Sony's well over any of these other options, only soured by the connection and previous quality issues.

Birthday was coming up and wanted to upgrade from my Apple Airpods. Read several reviews about the Sony WF-1000XM4 True Wireless Noise Cancelling In-Ear Headphones (XM4) before buying them. First thing you have think about is do you like foam or not. One of the pluses for me was the XM4 use foam tips and not silicone. I used to have a pair of the Jaybird Freedom 2 and really liked the way the foam tips fit. I also have a pair of the Jaybird Tarah Pros but just don't like the feel and fit of the silicone tips. They look huge, but they surprisingly fit nicely in my ear. Sound quality is great and with the downloadable program, you get a customizable equalizer. What really blew me away was the noise cancelling, the office has a very loud air conditioning unit and the noise completely disappears! I can no longer tell when the unit is on or off when I have the XM4's in. Battery life is great, and as others mentioned, once you put the ear buds in, each one will tell you the amount of battery left. I like that the case can be charged wirelessly. I mainly use them in the office to drown out the office noise and they do deliver on getting rid of the noise in the office. If it wasn't for my birthday, I would have opted something less expensive, but I am really glad I got the XM4's they are great!

These are pretty awesome. I've had them for a couple of months now and they are the best on the market at the moment if you're looking for noise canceling, truly wireless experience. You can also use each bud independent of the other (both have microphones and you can dictate how each one will be controlled. That said, they are a bit odd to get used to as far as putting them in and keeping them in. I am normally a BOSE person but they have silicone ear hooks which suck for my new rook piercing. I took off one star for fitting struggles. At this price point they should be easy to insert and keep in with next to no fenagling.

      Hello TechOrDeath,

Thank you so much for your review! We are really thrilled to hear you are satisfied with the industry-leading noise canceling function & the use of one unit at a time feature of our WF-1000XM4.

We are sorry if these headphones did not fit you well. Let's try to isolate and fix the problem by following the steps below:

      • If you feel earbud tips are difficult to put into your ears, change the size of earbud tips or squeeze earbud tips lightly before wearing the headset.
      • Change the earbud tips to ones that fit more snugly in your ears. When changing the earbud tips, try the earbud tip sizes in order from the larger ones to the smaller ones. The size of the left and right earbud tips may be different.
      • The “Sony | Headphones Connect” app will help you to determine which earbud tips are most suitable for you to achieve the optimal noise cancelation effect.

The good: These stay in my ears better than the XM3 but not great. They connect well and quick. I can turn the anc functionality of to save battery. There is not static when nothing is playing. The OK: I want buttons for noise cancelling setting, volume and voice assist but I can only have 2 out of these 3. The noise cancelling is weaker than I have expected. The foam tips can hurt after some time The bad: These sound like a tin can on low volume. It's better at high volume. I have $80 earbuds with better sound and noise cancelling. I don't think these are worth $280.
