Read several reviews about the Sony WF-1000XM4 True Wireless Noise Cancelling In-Ear Headphones (XM4) before buying them. First thing you have think about is do you like foam or not. One of the pluses for me was the XM4 use foam tips and not silicone. I used to have a pair of the Jaybird Freedom 2 and really liked the way the foam tips fit. I also have a pair of the Jaybird Tarah Pros but just don't like the feel and fit of the silicone tips. They look huge, but they surprisingly fit nicely in my ear. Sound quality is great and with the downloadable program, you get a customizable equalizer. What really blew me away was the noise cancelling, the office has a very loud air conditioning unit and the noise completely disappears! I can no longer tell when the unit is on or off when I have the XM4's in. Battery life is great, and as others mentioned, once you put the ear buds in, each one will tell you the amount of battery left. I like that the case can be charged wirelessly. I mainly use them in the office to drown out the office noise and they do deliver on getting rid of the noise in the office. If it wasn't for my birthday, I would have opted something less expensive, but I am really glad I got the XM4's they are great!

Remove one ans soon as you speak the music stop. I have not figured out how to control the volume or skip tracks. Not enjoyed that part.

When you listen to music while wearing both headset units in your ears, the headset will pause music playback if one or both headset units are removed. When the headset is worn again, the headset resumes music playback. However, you can also turn off the auto-pause function via Headphone Connect App.

Please ensure you have the latest software installed. The software version can be updated using the Headphones Connect App. In addition, restarting or Initializing the headphones are also a recommendation.

These are the best earbuds I have ever tried. Fitment wise you just have to figure out what size or combination eat tips work best for you. I use a small on one side and medium in the other. And when put in as directed they feel great. The sound quality is amazing and the active noise canceling is the absolute best and when it’s off the most natural pass though is the best I’ve ever experienced. Battery life is more then enough to get me though the day usually a few , and it small compact design makes them very easy to carry. The magnetic case works great holds them in with no worries about them falling out. I recently made the switch to Sony from using other brands. I now own 2 of the xb43 BT speakers as well as a xp700 for 2 main reasons. 1 sound quality and 2 customer service. The xp700 did need replaced due to an input problem, which they did with 0 problems. So nice to see a company that stands behind their products and their customer service team were nothing less then exceptional with helping me.

Sounds Amazing, Fit is Annoying

The first time I got them I was so annoyed at the lack of volume, sound quality and bass I took them right back. Then I realized that they benefit from the EQ feature in the app- especially if you're using an iPhone- so I gave them another try when they were on sale. I have to admit that they sound wonderful, but not as good as my Bose Quiet Comforts. They also don't fit very well, mainly because of the unusual shape that makes them heavy on the outer portion. If I am not moving too much, I will use these, but if I am walking aggressively, I will use something else.

Forget your AirPods, these are well made, have a perfect fit and the noise cancellation is god tier. Ambient sound function makes them easy to use in busy settings. Sound quality is also crystal clear. I’m able to pick apart all of the instruments and hear parts of songs I’d been missing out on before. Can’t recommend these enough.

If none of the standard stuff on the market fits your ears, try these. The fitting mechanism is a round piece that sits in the ridges in your ear, and it perfectly blocks out sound. I have ears that are not compatible with most earbuds, but these are secure and will not fall out during exercise, talking, or eating.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own the Sony X3 earbuds and now the X4 as you can probably assume.... i mistakenly put the X3 headphones in the wash case and all so those no longer work. i got the JBL Under armour Rock Edition buds to replace the X3 to change things up and oh man was that a very big mistake.. in short the X4 ear buds are everything the X3s were but improved including the ambient sound the case is not as much as a beast as the X3s but its still super nice and you cant see lines where it was out together. I give these buds 10 out ofc 10

Great spund quality and the noise cancelation worked great. I used them essentially as ear protection while using my power saws. The problem began right around the 1 year mark of owning them. The left ear bud wouldn't always fully charge. When it would charge, it got to where it would only last about 45 minutes. Unfortunately, it was just out of warranty. For the sky high price, these things should really last longer than 1 year. I can't afford to spend over $200 a year for ear buds...

Decent but not the best

Battery life while they were working was pretty good, not the best but it was alright. I would say theres better options as far as price and durability goes. Sound quality is good but again, not the best and these are pretty pricey.
