Not quite.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was extremely excited to get these. Sadly, I could not get the left earbud with the large fitting to seal my ear canal. It felt like it was hanging off a bit. Additionally, I could not "feel" the sound enough, especially the bass, even with the EQ tweaked. So, I thought I'd give the Bose a try. Aside from the size, the noise canceling is significantly better and I prefer the sound in the Bose. I hated the cheap eco friendly packaging on the Sony. A huge turn off, for me. Jabra 75t Active are nice for a midrange pair if you're looking.

Great Wireless headphones
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great headphones in a small package. Form factor improves on the previous generation. However tis comes with a decrease in case battery life. Headphones have slightly decreased range, but still provide a decent distance of connectivity. A great buy for those looking for good sound and a case that fit comfortably in the pocket.

Great sound, but fit not for me
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great sounding, incredible noise cancellation, but ultimately call quality, fit and lack of multi point connectivity were too big negatives and led me to return them. My ears were on fire after wearing on a 3 hour flight. Got a little better with after market silicon ear buds, but not enough to keep them. Found myself constantly adjusting the buds to keep them from hurting my ears. Deal breaker was call quality. On a zoom call with a fan on and in a restaurant, people could not hear me. Jabra Elite 85t’s are much better

Posted .Hi Hookem, While we're glad to hear you like the great sound and incredible noise cancelation of the WF-1000XM4, we regret to know that the unit had to be returned. If the size of the earbud tips does not match the size of your ear canals or the headset is not properly worn on your ears, you may not obtain a comfortable fit, proper sound qualities or call performances with the unit.
If any of this is the case, try the following.
Change the earbud tips to ones that fit more snugly in your ears. When changing the earbud tips, try the earbud tip sizes in order from the larger ones to the smaller ones. The size of the left and right earbud tips may be different.
The “Sony | Headphones Connect” app will help you to determine which earbud tips are most suitable for you to achieve the optimal noise cancellation effect.
Check if the headset is properly worn on your ears. Wear the headset so that the earbud tip is comfortably situated as deep in the ear canal as possible.
I hope you consider our Sony products in the future. Thank you for sharing your feedback. -Sam

Expensive but worth it.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very comfortable headphones that work great. You can use one or both at the same time, depending on your mood. Lasts twice as long as my last set and recharging is quick and easy. Minor connection problems sometimes but you just have to return them to the case to reset the signal.

Cool earbuds
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A little bulky, but the sound is amazing, i used to switch from left or right playback that way i could use them at work without having both on, then an update came and if i put the left one alone, it does nothing, and is really frustrating. Another update came, and now the battery doesnt last that long and thats really frustrating.

Noise cancelling feature has slipped
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a pair of these previously that were great. Unfortunately they disappeared, so I bought this pair. This new pair's noise cancelling is no where near as good - I honestly don't notice much difference between the noise cancelling and ambient sound settings. I don't know if Sony changed something or I got a defective pair. I am going to exchange this and try another. Other than the noise cancelling on this pair, I love the sound - excellent. I wish the fit was a little better for keeping them in my ears for activities. No problems when I am sitting, but they can pop out once in a while when I take them for a run.

Posted .Hi Brujo, We're glad that you like the noise canceling function and sound quality. We're sorry they doesn't fit well. We value your opinion and rest assured that we'll take note of your feedback as it helps in improving our products.
Different sizes of earbud tips are supplied so that you can achieve the maximum effects of the earbuds. Ear canals vary in size from person to person, and can also vary in size from the left to the right sides. To keep the headphones from falling out, please select the right size earbud tips. We also recommend wearing the earbuds properly.
Gently pull up on the top of your ears, put the earbud tips in your ear canal, and then twist the earbuds into place. This makes sure the earbuds are firmly in the ear canal.

Birthday Ear pods for Son
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought these for my 31-y/o son's birthday (just before Christmas), with very little guidance (other than online reviews, etc.). I did know that he used a "non-iPhone", and - while there were a few that were designed specifically for certain Android-based features and apps - I felt that he might benefit from having a model with more diverse features than "specific compatibility" (and I knew he wouldn't be able to truly appreciate all the other great attributes, if they were designed primarily for AOS platform). I went to my "local" Best Buy, and received outstanding guidance from the Team member assisting me! He quickly helped me narrow down, and ultimately landed on this Sony pair (one of my "short list" candidates before coming to the store). I was also extremely pleased that there was in-store availability of each of the models I was considering (often not the case with many other retailers...), which made the experience even better! My son confirmed that the earphones have truly been "all that" and more: sound quality, noise canceling capability, adaptability, ease of use/operation (and access to features), and tremendous functionality; all things considered, and couldn't be more pleased! That makes it a worthwhile purchase with great value to me...!

Great wireless ANC earbuds
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great sound quality, great active noise cancelling (ANC), and decent comfort. I did replace the stock tips with some foam tips, which helped some. I used these for at least 10 round trip flights since I bought these, and the ANC is truly excellent. Battery life is solid too. I recommend these!

Great sounding headphones but needs some work
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best sounding wireless headphones I have owned. I love having the ability to charge these in the case on my way to the gym. These are replacing a set of Bose Sport that I have owned for 5 years. There are a few drawbacks to these headphones. First is the foam tips are not exactly comfortable. I have ordered replacements tips but have yet to receive them. The second, is that regularly it cuts out for a 3-5 second interval. Not sure what causes this but hopefully will be fixed in a future firmware update.

Amazing Sound! Huge Upgrade over prior version.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the XM3's when they came out and have been using them for work/travel consistently. I rarely used them at home because I like the sound of THX Panda's or the Audeze Penrose for listening to music over Bluetooth wirelessly. Audeze sounds better to my ears but is less comfortable. The XM4's are making that decision tough now because they are close in sound quality to top over the ear bluetooth headsets. I have to listen to them more side by side. The XM4 is definetly a leap better than the XM3 earbuds from strictly a Sound aspect. It might just be LDAC but its just so much better sounding. They also managed to eek out a few extra hours on the earbuds which is actually important for me. I was running my XM3's to dead battery and maybe 1 hour more would have been ideal. The XM4's have no problem lasting the full time I need them. The case shrank significantly in size despite having about the same overall battery time. Now they just need to fix their software. Its like every Sony product I own has terrible menus and is terrible to update.

Swing and a Miss
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been using Sony's noise cancelling headphones for several years (WH-1000xm3 & WH-1000xm4), and I've been waiting for the WF-1000xm4 for the last year. I was really excited to get these given all the positive reviews and my love of their headphones. Unfortunately these didn't live up to the hype. Fit in Ear: This wasn't the best, but something I could have adjusted to if they performed as advertised. I found the foam ear tips worked well, though they may take a day or two to adjust to if you aren't used to using foam tips. The body style and shape of the in-ear is a little large for my ears, so definitely a spot where the in-ears press significantly against the inside of my ear. Everyone's ears are different, so others may not have this same problem. Again, if they worked well, I'd probably learn to get use to it. Performance: Noise cancelling is great when listening to music or just wearing without any audio. They sound decent with music. They aren't going to compete with over-the-head headphones, but they do sound good for their size and battery life. Noise canceling in calls is horrible; it actually introduces a ton of background noise and amplifies all the sounds around you that you need to block! It sounds like an AC compressor running in the background on calls. I constantly kept removing the in-ears wondering what was making that horribly loud noise around me, only to discover each time it was coming from the in-ears. Bluetooth connectivity in calls is horrible. When using these for calls, the audio is constantly cutting out of one side or the other. I own a pair of cheap $15 wireless in-ears I bought from another retailer several years back that outperform the stability of Bluetooth connectivity. I get these use LE Bluetooth and have crazy good battery life, so the Bluetooth strength may not be quite as strong as other products. However, when the phone is no more than 3 feet away, these shouldn't constantly cut in and out based on the angle of my head. During one call, they simply crashed and rebooted. What do I mean by crash? The audio froze in a very unpleasant way for an extended period, during which all touch controls were unresponsive, after which they both rebooted and initialized to a default settings (which remapped my touch inputs). It was disruptive enough that I had to remove them and continue the call without them. I use my wireless headphones for work, and my number one need is they have to be dependable. These failed that test time and time again, and I only used them for 4 hours. For those who are wondering, I was using the latest and greatest firmware that was available. I even tried doing a factory reset just in case that would clear up issues. Nope. It may not seem like it from this review, but I actually really like several other Sony products I own today. There's a chance I just got a defective pair. I was hoping to simply exchange these, but these are still really hard to get and our local Best Buy store didn't have any others in stock in either color. I do plan on trying again once inventory is easier to find.

Posted .Hi RobotHarris, thank you for purchasing our newest industry-leading noise canceling earbuds. We're sorry to hear that you have issues with your SONY unit. Use a smartphone or mobile phone at least 50 cm (19.69 in.) away from the headset. Noise may result if the smartphone or mobile phone is too close to the headset. Set the headset to “Priority on stable connection” mode for a more stable Bluetooth connection. We also suggest initializing the unit to isolate the issues:
