||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love these headphones. Probably the best I’ve ever owned and homes would change anything about them. The noise canceling/ambient noise feature is amazing for the gym. I feel like these heads stay in REALLY well when working out. And the sound is incredible. If you’re thinking of spending the money, do it.

Great sounding headphones but needs some work
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best sounding wireless headphones I have owned. I love having the ability to charge these in the case on my way to the gym. These are replacing a set of Bose Sport that I have owned for 5 years. There are a few drawbacks to these headphones. First is the foam tips are not exactly comfortable. I have ordered replacements tips but have yet to receive them. The second, is that regularly it cuts out for a 3-5 second interval. Not sure what causes this but hopefully will be fixed in a future firmware update.

Amazing Sound! Huge Upgrade over prior version.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the XM3's when they came out and have been using them for work/travel consistently. I rarely used them at home because I like the sound of THX Panda's or the Audeze Penrose for listening to music over Bluetooth wirelessly. Audeze sounds better to my ears but is less comfortable. The XM4's are making that decision tough now because they are close in sound quality to top over the ear bluetooth headsets. I have to listen to them more side by side. The XM4 is definetly a leap better than the XM3 earbuds from strictly a Sound aspect. It might just be LDAC but its just so much better sounding. They also managed to eek out a few extra hours on the earbuds which is actually important for me. I was running my XM3's to dead battery and maybe 1 hour more would have been ideal. The XM4's have no problem lasting the full time I need them. The case shrank significantly in size despite having about the same overall battery time. Now they just need to fix their software. Its like every Sony product I own has terrible menus and is terrible to update.

The truth
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For a clear sound you may like these. For a big sound you won't. The bass is not there and the app won't turn it up. The volume isn't loud enough. My Bose QC beat these hands down.

Posted .Hi Wicked, Thank you for the feedback on your experience with your WF-1000XM4. For the proper sound quality to be effective, try the following steps:
Change the earbud tips to ones that fit more snugly in your ears. When changing the earbud tips, try the earbud tip sizes in order from the larger ones to the smaller ones. The size of the left and right earbud tips may be different.
The “Sony | Headphones Connect” app will help you to determine which earbud tips are most suitable for you to achieve the optimal noise cancellation effect.
Referring to step 2, check if the headset is properly worn on your ears. Wear the headset so that the earbud tip is comfortably situated as deep in the ear canal as possible.
Hope this helps!

Sam

WF-1000XM4
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.ive been a huge fan of sony's products for a while, but these earbuds blew my expectations away. build quality is luxurious and the sound quality is as close to flawless as wireless can be in my opinion. i also own the over ear wf-1000xm4s which i use for commuting and these buds integrate well into my workflow. the app is a little wonky as are all apps of this type but works well enough. there's a settings menu for adjusting noise canceling levels and ambient sound and a built in eq. i find the adaptive sound control to be a bit frustrating as it will switch between noise canceling and ambient sound when i don't necessarily want it to, but as a feature i do appreciate it. the touch controls are mostly solid left touch for noise canceling right touch for play pause, i have had moments where the touch sensor isn't exactly where i think it it was. overall a desirable product for audiophiles and professionals.

Great for music, terrible for calls
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent for music and I really wanted to love these earbuds, however they are terrible for calls! One of the worst I've had. I tried to Google and reddit and there were some recommendations on adjusting some settings, but no avail. At the price point that these sell at, I would've imagined that the call function works flawlessly. Having said that, if you only want to listen to music, these are fantastic. I'm going to return mine though.

Posted .Hi Alex,
We regret to hear that you are not satisfied with the headphones. For optimum performance, make sure that the software version of the headphones is up-to-date (via the Sony Headphones Connect app).
If the size of the earbud tips does not match the size of your ear canals or the headset is not properly worn on your ears, you may not obtain proper sound qualities, noise canceling effects, or call performances. If any of this is the case, try the following:
--Change the earbud tips to ones that fit more snugly in your ears.
-Check if the headset is properly worn on your ears. Wear the headset so that the earbud tip is comfortably situated as deep in the ear canal as possible.

||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sound quality is excellent. A full head about the beats fit pro I bought around the same price. The noise cancelling also knocks them out of the water. Swing and a Miss
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been using Sony's noise cancelling headphones for several years (WH-1000xm3 & WH-1000xm4), and I've been waiting for the WF-1000xm4 for the last year. I was really excited to get these given all the positive reviews and my love of their headphones. Unfortunately these didn't live up to the hype. Fit in Ear: This wasn't the best, but something I could have adjusted to if they performed as advertised. I found the foam ear tips worked well, though they may take a day or two to adjust to if you aren't used to using foam tips. The body style and shape of the in-ear is a little large for my ears, so definitely a spot where the in-ears press significantly against the inside of my ear. Everyone's ears are different, so others may not have this same problem. Again, if they worked well, I'd probably learn to get use to it. Performance: Noise cancelling is great when listening to music or just wearing without any audio. They sound decent with music. They aren't going to compete with over-the-head headphones, but they do sound good for their size and battery life. Noise canceling in calls is horrible; it actually introduces a ton of background noise and amplifies all the sounds around you that you need to block! It sounds like an AC compressor running in the background on calls. I constantly kept removing the in-ears wondering what was making that horribly loud noise around me, only to discover each time it was coming from the in-ears. Bluetooth connectivity in calls is horrible. When using these for calls, the audio is constantly cutting out of one side or the other. I own a pair of cheap $15 wireless in-ears I bought from another retailer several years back that outperform the stability of Bluetooth connectivity. I get these use LE Bluetooth and have crazy good battery life, so the Bluetooth strength may not be quite as strong as other products. However, when the phone is no more than 3 feet away, these shouldn't constantly cut in and out based on the angle of my head. During one call, they simply crashed and rebooted. What do I mean by crash? The audio froze in a very unpleasant way for an extended period, during which all touch controls were unresponsive, after which they both rebooted and initialized to a default settings (which remapped my touch inputs). It was disruptive enough that I had to remove them and continue the call without them. I use my wireless headphones for work, and my number one need is they have to be dependable. These failed that test time and time again, and I only used them for 4 hours. For those who are wondering, I was using the latest and greatest firmware that was available. I even tried doing a factory reset just in case that would clear up issues. Nope. It may not seem like it from this review, but I actually really like several other Sony products I own today. There's a chance I just got a defective pair. I was hoping to simply exchange these, but these are still really hard to get and our local Best Buy store didn't have any others in stock in either color. I do plan on trying again once inventory is easier to find.

Posted .Hi RobotHarris, thank you for purchasing our newest industry-leading noise canceling earbuds. We're sorry to hear that you have issues with your SONY unit. Use a smartphone or mobile phone at least 50 cm (19.69 in.) away from the headset. Noise may result if the smartphone or mobile phone is too close to the headset. Set the headset to “Priority on stable connection” mode for a more stable Bluetooth connection. We also suggest initializing the unit to isolate the issues:

Turns off the outside world in comfort
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.4.5 stars. Noise-cancellation is the best I've heard from earbuds. The foam tips were a very welcome addition to the design, and I love the side-touch options in the app (i.e., turn on/off ambient mode). I returned them because I opted for the headphone beanie I own (it's louder without being in my ear). And one of the foam tips got stuck in my ear!!! However, I may purchase these again because of the quality.

Brilliant sound.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fabulous earphones. Strongly recommend getting a protective case from a third party. Cases allow attachment of a Bluetooth tracker and protect the case. The sound is great. I find the Adaptive noise control annoying. If I am moving around in the gym, the headphones turn off the noise cancellation to protect me from things that might occur outdoors, like traffic. You can play lossless sound, but you have to subscribe to a third party music service.

Top of the line Sony vs the top Sennheiser earbuds
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Once i received employee assistance, the sales person seemed knowledgeable. I was wavering between the Sony earbuds and Sennheiser's earbuds but was told the Sennheiser's may not be in stock. My lower rating is based on the price(even on sale) that Sony has. And though Sony has great features and has very good sound, the Sennheiser's stereo sound quality is considered the best by far. If the Momentum 2's had a stand-alone self charging case i would have bought the Sennheiser.
