My only concern was how the packaging was sent to me. There were only earphones inside a big box without any protective bubble wrap or foam. I was thinking how it must have broken down due to all the rattling but somehow they're working fine.

Not comfortable in ears during long sessions

I am not impressed with the low end. I wish the bass gets more punch and thump. The 360 sound is just not that impressive to me and hear no real difference between Master and 360 versions of songs. I find the earbuds themselves are uncomfortable in the ears. The foam tips are itchy and get irritating when listening for long periods of music or podcasts. I feel I need to take them out often to itch the inside of my ears. I am still on the fence on returning them but for what earbud brand? I am not sure. I don't think they are worth the price. Uncomfortable earpieces and the lacking of the deep bass. I do love the Treble and midrange clarity though.

Posted .Hi JustinF, We're glad that you like the sound quality. We're also sorry if they become uncomfortable during long sessions. You may be experiencing a symptom called listener fatigue. That is where your eardrums work hard to manage the volume that flows through your ear canal. The louder the volume, the bigger the strain on your eardrums, which then causes the feeling of fatigue. Note: Try lowering the volume or take a break from wearing them for a while.
How long have you been wearing the headphones? The longer you wear headphones, the more your ears may hurt. Note: You may need to limit your headphone usage.
Please also ensure you have downloaded the Sony Headphones Connect app. It has an equalizer which can be customized to fine-tune your music.

The original ear tips were a bit flimsy, so they ended up ripping and I had to buy new ones (with that said I also recommend the "comply" memory foam tips). Could also be a little louder, but for 6mm drives these little guy's are packing quite the punch. I've used them practically every day for the past couple of months and they work like a charm. The ambient sound is also quite nice. Let's me hear when someone's talking to me and have music as a background.

Awesome headphones, for some...

They beat the AirPods Pro and Bose QC earbuds in pretty much every category except for call quality. They sound awesome, the app functionality is great, speak-to-chat really works for those that use it, and the ambient sound adjustability and adaptive sound control work just the way I want. The case size reduction is also a big plus, close to the AirPods Pro, but way ahead of the Bose. The AirPods Pro still win on call quality, followed closely by the Bose QC. The WF-1000XM4, while much better than the XM3, still do not compare to the other two for this feature so look elsewhere if call quality is important to you (i.e. business use). But then there is noise-canceling, which may be the reason most buy these earbuds. No matter what these companies do, so much of the noise-canceling success, or failure, actually falls on how well the consumer can get these things to fit and get a seal. Meaning, if you cannot create a good seal, no matter how good someone says the noise canceling is, you will not get the same result. That means that for me, while the XM4's are great noise-canceling earbuds, the Bose QC is actually better. No matter how much I squish and twist and adjust, I just cannot get the same seal with the XM4 foam tips as I can the Bose QC. I am not even talking comfort, as they both are comfortable to me, as are the AirPods Pro. In fact, while the Bose are best to me, the AirPods Pro achieve about the same noise canceling quality as the XM4 without all the squishing, twisting and adjustment. I can just pop them in and go (as I can with the Bose). This is likely due to the silicone tips on those two that for me create a better seal than foam (I must just have weird ears). So in the end, these are awesome earbuds and definitely worth the purchase for most people. However, you may get different results with your ears so you may need to test drive and decide for yourself. They are still worth 5-stars in my opinion for all the great features, just know the challenges you may (or may not) have with the noise canceling.

These deliver on every bit of the amazing sound quality Sony are known for, especially when set up with the Headphones app. The app provides numerous tweaks and smart features for the ANC as well, and you would be doing yourself a disservice by not using it. On the note of Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), I was apprehensive about how well it would work in earbud format, but having owned the WH-1000MX3 over-ear headphones, I was willing to trust Sony again. The noise cancellation is excellent, although slightly less capable than what you get in the over-ear offering; this makes sense given the form factor, and is still top of the class. There is no hiss when ANC is active and no audio is being played, and they don't make me feel the slight pressure vacuum that is present in most over-ear ANC headphones. In an office environment with typical chatter, keyboard clacking, and air handlers, placing these in your ears makes everything go silent. Outside, with traffic nearby, you'll still get some road noise, but it is dampened considerably - if you use the Headphones app and allow it to adjust according to your environment, they will pick up on your movement and allow a little more noise through to make sure you aren't caught by surprise. The sound quality for music is spectacular, particularly when used with 360 audio or Hi-Fi audio such as Deezer Hi-Fi and Tidal Master Tracks. You will literally hear music you've never heard before, even if you've heard a track a thousand times before. Of course, this all comes with the premium price tag attached, meaning it's not reasonable to say everyone should own these; however, if you're in the market for top tier ear buds that will handle quality phone calls and voice commands with ease, and provide exquisite music quality, do yourself a favor. Ditch the Pixel Buds, Galaxy Buds, AirPods of any flavor - even your Bose earbuds - and pick these up. You won't regret it.

I couldn't have been more impressed by this most recent (WF-1000xm4) products abilities. ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) is impressive for me as I have an auditory processing disorder and these truly wireless headphones all but silence every external noise to bring me to a calm place. Unfortunately I lost the left earbud and can't afford a new one. That is my fault and not a gripe about the product. However I am slightly annoyed that I'm no longer able to use the right earbud alone. In order to put the device into pairing mode you need to have both earbuds accessible so I'm left hanging into an expensive paperweight *Sad Face*.

While we're glad to hear how much you love these earbuds, we're sorry to hear that you are missing one side. The two sides of the headphones and the charging case are all pre-set with information that allows them to communicate to and from each other, such as one-touch connection. These settings can only be configured at the Service Center with all three components present. For this reason, you can't simply replace one missing part.
If you lose the charging case or one side of the headphones, send the remaining items to the Service Center so that a replacement for the missing part can be acquired and reset with the remaining components. However, please note that the warranty does not cover the cost of replacing lost or missing items. It has AMAZING SOUND!! And a super deep bass and to my surprise I find them to be far more convenient and higher quality than the AirPods and beats. I am happy with my purchase!
