Very Good Headphone, but do not last

Over time the headphones needed to be charged more frequently to the point where this they do not last longer than 1 hour on a full charge. Tried contacting support and had to speak to 2 different reps for them to admit that this is a known issue with this model. To make matters worse the serial # is only located in 2 places. 1. on the carrying case where after normal wear and tear will rub of 2. On the paper that wrapped around the packaging that must be removed in order to open the box despite the poor placement of the serial number Sony support will tell you your only option is to buy a brand new pair. With this being a known issue, I would not recommend this product, but if you do decide to buy them make sure you save the serial number in a safe place because these headphones WILL NOT LAST

I wish they were more comfortable to wear, because the audio quality was very good. Good battery life as well. I did try different tips, even some silicon ones, but I ended up returning due to the pain caused when wearing for more than about 15 mins. Most reviews comment the same.

God tier ANC, excellent frequency range and durable. The only problem I have with them is the factory ear tips are fairly fragile and come apart easily, easy fix with some spin fit tips.

Battery depreciation, throw away I guess......

They started off working most of the work day. Now I've had to change my profile to let the left be the dominant one and I'll probably have to buy another 250 dollar pair in a few more months. Sound was great. Disposable, expensive headphones suck.

While it is normal for the battery consumption rate to vary somewhat between the left and right earbuds due to function settings and conditions of use, a significant difference between the earbuds, when regularly used together, should not occur.

Sony WF-1000XM4 Ear Headphones

My wife's pair has great noise cancellation and sound quality. I am having trouble getting a good seal with the foam ear pieces so the sound quality is not as good as my $13 Edifer wired earbuds. I plan on trying a different ear insert to see if that helps. The set up was pretty easy and the bluetooth connection works automatically most of the time. Occasionally, I have to go to settings on my laptop to get it to connect.

As much as I swore by and loved my Bose, I enjoy these even more. Great fit, great sound, solid battery life and the Active Noise Cancellation is game changing. Granted they're pricey, but I guess you get what you pay for.

Sounds Great! But fit is limiting compared to XM3

Even before the Airpods (1st gen) I had a few pair that were pretty janky in comparison to what we have today. I even still have my XM3 model which I used at the gym exclusively. I did some extensive use in the last 24 hours with the XM4s and did some A/B comparisons with the XM3s. Sound-wise there is definitely more punch to the XM4s. I like the new features but unfortunately I ended up turning all of them off. The Chat feature is a great idea only if you don't plan on singing along with the music. The second you sing it shuts the music right off. I never really liked the Adaptive noise canceling feature on the previous version so it was no real use to me. Both the XM3 and XM4 are both the loudest of the TWS headphones I've used. Only seconded by the Bose ones. Now here is my caveat. I'm not a big fan of the silicon/foam hybrid ear tips. Especially the ones that come with the the XM4s, the XM3s I have came with 7 pairs of ear tips. 3 pairs were foam/silicon hybrid, and 4 were silicon. The hybrid ones were different though. Much like the standard Sony buds it was more of a rounded cone. The new ones on the XM3s are more like the Comply foam tips which are a cylinder. Switching to the old hybrid buds I preferred those more. But even more so the older silicon tips fit even better in my ears. Comparing both sets the XM3s are more comfortable in all situations in my ears. I had wished that the XM4s fit more like the the XB700 headphones which with the "Tri-hold" system which fit the best for my ears. All in all these are a very solid pair of headphones though. I would rate it 4/5 for the upgrades but a downgrade due to fit, while the XM3s are were probably a 5/5 at release but would 4/5 today just with the new upgrades and the better sound quality of the XM4s. It's a bit of a toss up between the two. At the current price of under $200 for the XM3s vs the $280 for the XM4s; they might be the better buy until they are all sold out. But for now I'm keeping both pairs but using the old silicon tips with the XM4s and enjoy that. That's just me though. I know many prefer the foam tips so to each their own.
