I do find the pairing process to be a little annoying. I also like having one earbud in at work which is fine for the right ear but the left ear doesn't seem to be able to play without the right. This isn't a huge deal for me and definitely not for most people since the Ambient Sound mode is really good and allows for clear speech.

They do cost quite a bit more than most of the competition, but they are worth it. I’ve tried almost all of the premium BT earbuds(Sennhieser Momentum 2, Galaxy Buds+ and Galaxy Buds Pro, AirPods Pro, 1more, and the Jabra’s), none compare to the WF-1000XM4’s if you want an all around great pair of wireless earbuds. I will say that I like the Sennhieser Momentum 2’s sound a little better, but only a little better and the noise canceling on the Sony buds is unbelievable. I also have the Sony WH-1000xm4’s(over ear cans) and I think that the earbuds are almost if not just as good. Sony really outdid themselves with this time.

Amazing for music, so many settings for EQ nerds

Noise cancelling and ambience sound is amazing. The feature to automatically switch to your preferred setting is great, but it requires you to have your location always on, which drains my battery on my phone. The microphone unfortunately is not good, muffled and not clear. No idea why Sony would miss out on this.

Your feedback with the Adaptive Sound Control function is truly appreciated.
For the microphone, if you're having an issue while on call, please ensure that you have the latest software installed. The firmware update improves the functionality and features of the headphones. It also provides fixes to any performance issues that you are encountering. The software version can be updated using the Headphones Connect App. In addition, restarting or Initializing the headphones are also a recommendation.

I uses on the plane all the time and I do enjoy a it switching back and forth between noise cancellation and regular noise. The only grief I have about the ear pieces are that they can get uncomfortable for more than 3 hours of usage.

The sound on the ear buds is really good. Only issue i had, which may very depending on your ears, were the foam tips that were included. They were uncomfortable and hurt my ears after 30 minutes of use. Went ahead and bought some comply foam tips and they feel a lot better in my ears. If you're on the fence between getting these or not, i definitely recommend buying them.

The active noise cancelling is a disappointment, not nearly up to the performance of Bose units, and not even at the level of Soundcore earbuds. The associated software is somewhat confusing, offering a hodge-podge of features and settings.

You may also try following the below steps if the noise canceling effect is not sufficient.
Make sure that the noise canceling function is turned on.
If the size of the earbud tips does not match the size of your ear canals or the headset is not properly worn on your ears, tap operations or the speech detection of Speak-to-Chat may not be successful, or you may not obtain proper sound qualities, noise canceling effects, or call performances. If any of this is the case, try the following.
- Change the earbud tips to ones that fit more snugly in your ears. When changing the earbud tips, try the earbud tip sizes in order from the larger ones to the smaller ones. The size of the left and right earbud tips may be different. The “Sony | Headphones Connect” app will help you to determine which earbud tips are most suitable for you to achieve the optimal noise cancellation effect.
- Check if the headset is properly worn on your ears. Wear the headset so that the earbud tip is comfortably situated as deep in the ear canal as possible.
The noise canceling function is effective in low frequency ranges such as airplanes, trains, offices, near air-conditioning, and is not as effective for higher frequencies, such as human voices.
When the Adaptive Sound Control on the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app is turned on, the wearer's actions, like walking or running, are detected. The noise canceling function is automatically adjusted and the Ambient Sound Mode may be activated according to these actions. To make the most of the noise canceling function, turn off the Adaptive Sound Control, and try to turn on the noise canceling function manually when you need it.
Resetting and initializing the headphones is also a recommendation. Please refer to this link on how to reset or initialize the WF-1000XM4 earbud headphones.

Unfortunately, the fit just didn't work for me regardless of the size tips I tried. Ear canals vary in size from person to person, and can also vary in size from the left to the right sides. To keep the headphones from falling out, after selecting the right size earbud tips, we also recommend wearing the earbuds properly.
Gently pull up on the top of your ears, put the earbud tips in your ear canal, and then twist the earbuds into place. This makes sure the earbuds are firmly in the ear canal.

Have mine set to ambient noise 12, and get around 6 hours of playtime. Had to turn off the auto off as this setting caused the left bud to turn off randomly. Calls are great compared to my previous Pixel Buds

First the ear tips are made foam that will rip after a month. Wish they would of used plastic ear tips instead. Second the ear tips make the inside of the my ear very itchy the more I turn up the volume. I can’t really enjoy my music comfortably. Not really worth the price.

The earbuds may not work as designed if they are not worn properly, or the size of the earbud tips doesn't match the size of your ear canals. Different sizes of earbud tips are supplied so that you can achieve the maximum effects of the earbuds. Use the Determines Optimal Earbud Tips function in the Headphones Connect app to check the size of the earbud tips that best fit your ears. Poor Build Quality

I’ve owned several pairs of “true” wireless earbuds (Samsung, Jabra, Apple) and these are by far my favorite. I even like the design. The look great and sound even better. The noise cancellation is very impressive. Almost as good as the over ear headphones Sony makes. Maybe even just as good. The battery life is on par with other high end earbuds and the wireless charging comes in handy. The app is great and so is connectivity, even on iPhones. The LED light is a nice touch too. I had to take off 2 stars for the build quality of the case though. It’s really bad. The feel unbelievably cheap. The case feels hollow and probably could have been a bit smaller making it more dense giving it a better in hand feel. The plastic feels like the same recycled materials the box came in. I’m not sure if it’s made out of recycled plastic or not, but it feels cheap. The lid rattles and shakes back and forth. The hinge is just bad and too small. I’m really worried about it breaking in the future just from pulling it in and out of my pocket. I don’t think I’d purchase them again or recommend them. For just over $300 after taxes I expected better build quality.

Can’t point my finger to it but sounds extremely flat even with messing around with the equalizer. Could just be me though as all the YouTube reviews I’ve seen for this, raves about these earbuds. Don’t get me wrong, they’re not bad but can’t say I can 100% whole heartedly recommend it for its price point but it definitely is a top tier ear buds.

Different sizes of earbud tips are supplied so that you can achieve the maximum effects of the earbuds. Ear canals vary in size from person to person, and can also vary in size from the left to the right sides. To keep the headphones from falling out, please select the right size earbud tips. We also recommend wearing the earbuds properly.
Gently pull up on the top of your ears, put the earbud tips in your ear canal, and then twist the earbuds into place. This makes sure the earbuds are firmly in the ear canal.
