Not At This Price Point

A month in and these earbuds are some of the most uncomfortably bulky buds I've ever used. At this price tag I expected better, but at this point I'm going to accept that Sony relies on brand recognition to sell audio equipment. Audio is fine, noise cancelling is pretty much non existent. Occasionally will connect to something while still in the case and drain the battery to nothing.

If you feel earbud tips are difficult to put into your ears, change the size of earbud tips or squeeze earbud tips lightly before wearing the headset.
If the size of the earbud tips does not match the size of your ear canals or the headset is not properly worn on your ears, tap operations or the speech detection of Speak-to-Chat may not be successful, or you may not obtain proper sound qualities, noise canceling effects, or call performances.
Please try these steps to improve your listening experience.
Change the earbud tips to ones that fit more snugly in your ears. When changing the earbud tips, try the earbud tip sizes in order from the larger ones to the smaller ones. The size of the left and right earbud tips may be different.
The “Sony | Headphones Connect” app will help you to determine which earbud tips are most suitable for you to achieve the optimal noise cancellation effect.

By the end of an hour workout I couldn’t stand to have them in anymore.

My only complaint, and it's a strange one, would be if you like to whistle in ambient sound mode, it tends to start noise cancelling like I've found a glitch in the matrix. Maybe ot thinks the whistling frequency is a malfunction, and starts to protect your ears? Or maybe the ambient mode has noise cancelling features added into the software.

Anything that has to do with the microphone is unusable. Even the audio switches to a lower quality when using the mic. No one can understand a word I'm saying. Google can't even hear my commands. I speak plain English, no accent and decently proper. These are touted as having all kinds of fancy voice assistant capabilities but I find the mic to be completely useless.

While we are glad that you are satisfied with the amazing sound quality of our WF-1000XM4, we are really sorry if you are having an issue with the microphone. This is definitely not the experience we were hoping you would have. Some of these issues can be fixed by updating the firmware of the headphones to the latest version. The firmware update improves the functionality and features of the unit. It also provides fixes to any performance issues that you are encountering. The software version can be updated using the Headphones Connect App. In addition, restarting or Initializing the headphones are also a recommendation.
