Superb Ear Buds

Read multiple reviews and decided to pull the trigger on the Sony. Great, but with critical flaws

Owned for 1 year when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having had these for over a year, I think I can say that these earbuds are pretty good that are being held back by some pretty critical flaws. On the positive, it feels premium, the ANC is really good for earbuds (probably one of the best), and the sound quality is really something else. The case and earbuds themselves are much more compact than the XM3 model earbuds, and they are a lot easier to use in comparison. The EQ features too make this device really appealing, and if it was based on just the positives, this device would be an easy recommendation. The lack of multipair really can hold these back, and it's a shame it was never included. So many people like that specific feature, including myself. Furthermore, in my experience, the battery life gets worse and worse the longer you own one of these. My earbuds can barely hold a quarter of the supposed playtime before needing to recharge. It's hard to recommend at this point, even with all the positives, because the two major negatives of this device are so bad that they can ruin the users experience.

I love the noise canceling ability in such a small form factor. I have the Sony - WH-1000XM3 and barely use them anymore. My only complaint is that the headphones sometimes feel like they want to fall out and the foam feels a bit cheap. I only trust them to stay in my ears at a slow walk and would be hesitant to own them without the Best Buy replacement plan. I already had one eject from my ear suddenly when I was bending over.

Giving 4 stars since sound quality is superb when tuned, ANC and passive noise isolation is excellent, but the buds are rather heavy and the foam ear tips do not fit everyone. Also, competing wireless earbuds offer 90% of the ANC and sound quality at less than 50% the price

My earbuds started dying in under an hour after a year. Apparently this is an issue. Sucks because it seems to happen to everyone after the manufacturer waranty ends. I have yet to get then repaired.

Not because it is not a good product, it is, but it is a little uncomfortable. They are a little too big for me. Now for the good parts. The sound is AMAZING. Best headphones for music or anything with sound, really. The battery is also amazing. I barely charge them and they have crazy long lasting battery. The Noise cancelling is also great. If it wasn't for the size, I would say these are one of the best headphones.

The ANC is amazing and better than the XM3 and AirPod Pros. I don't really read praise only reviews, so let's get to the negatives. The Pros: Best overall true wireless earphones. I love them and haven't stopped using them since i got them at release. The Cons: There's random beeps and boops whenever auto location based services are on. The ANC and adaptive sound modes randomly switch when the location service is activated. Overall, the location based functions are going to be spotty at best. The foam tipped ears are kind of a pain to install in your ears. You might get the goldilocks fit, but that's just eartips in general. I don't think you can turn up and down the volume with the touch controls, but that's a carry over from before. They hurt my hears after 8 hours of wearing them earlier. But I kind of just wear them around now.

The WF1000XM4 doesn’t have a default volume controller. You need to download the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app on your smartphone to assign the Volume adjustment function to the touch sensor. You may be experiencing a symptom called listener fatigue. That is where your eardrums work hard to manage the volume that flows through your ear canal. You may need to limit your headphone usage and try lowering the volume or take a break from wearing them for a while.

These Sony WF 1000 XM4 have become my go to set of earbuds. I am very pleased with the comfort and the audio quality. The noise cancellation is very good also. In addition, I like the features the app provides. I was not sure how I would like the foam tips as this is the only pair I own that do not use silicone tips. I like them. I wear them all day at work without any ear fatigue or discomfort which surprised me. TIP: with foam ear tips you only need to wipe them off with a dry cloth. Do not use any water or rubbing alcohol like you do with silicon tips. Overall I am very pleased with Sony‘s true wireless ear buds and look forward to their next iteration of in-ear wireless earbuds.

I can see how these would not fit some people's ears but for those that they do fit the sound and noise cancellation is amazing. I am coming from airpod pros, and these work worry free with my iphone 13 and my last phone which was the galaxy s21. Only knock i would give it is that i can not activate siri and voice commands through ear buds.

Bought a set of comply tips since none of the originals didnt fit right but thats to be expected with any earbud. Was kinda hoping they'd stay in while im working out but sadly they dont. Won't take a star off cause theyre not made for workouts anyway. Would also recommend using your preferred equalizer app as the one that comes with it is meh. Overall 8.5/10

Different sizes of earbud tips are supplied so that you can achieve the maximum effects of the earbuds. Ear canals vary in size from person to person, and can also vary in size from the left to the right sides. To keep the headphones from falling out, please select the right size earbud tips. We also recommend wearing the earbuds properly.
Gently pull up on the top of your ears, put the earbud tips in your ear canal, and then twist the earbuds into place. This makes sure the earbuds are firmly in the ear canal.

Good Buds but expensive
