Before that i had the previous generation sony bud and my biggest complaint was connectivity. With these new buds its seems better but i will still lose connection from one ear and sometimes both. Or even have noise canceling drop from one ear. Other problems will include occasionally not having the touch pad respond to commands. Overall the best sounding buds in the industry. But bose had better noise canceling.

Awesome little true wireless earbuds that delivers

Great fit, very comfortable, top notch ANC (Which is even better than the Pros) and overall the sound quality is excellent. Sony XM3 and XM4 are like night and day. Sony really went back to the drawing board with this one and delivered. Whatever the next iteration of there next version, I will be there ready to buy!

Works As Described.

I have not had a need to play music more than that. Keep in during bike rides with no problem. Noise cancelling feature is awesome. Have had any complaints from those I speak with, they can't tell I'm using ear buds. App is easy to use. The touch controls are great.

I’ve been using them for about five months and sometimes they cut out, other times they get out of sync, occasionally only one will work. They also do this annoying thing where if you speak while you’re music is paused, it will unpause the music after the usual wait time that it would auto pause which is aggravating (Has happened with an iPhone 11 and 13.) The battery life is good, and the noise canceling is great. I also like how small the case is, but wish it had some sort of tracking feature for the price.

To improve the situation, set the headset to “Priority on stable connection” mode for a more stable Bluetooth connection. If Speak-to-Chat is enabled in advance, the Speak-to-Chat mode starts automatically when you talk to someone. The headset pauses or mutes the music being played and captures the voice of the person you are conversing with on the microphones to make it easier to hear. When you use the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app, you can change the sensitivity of the automatic audio detection and change the time until the Speak-to-Chat mode ends, in addition to switch the mode between enabled and disabled. In the factory settings, the time until the mode ends is set to about 15 seconds.
Despite your concerns, it's nice to know that you like the sound quality and other features of your new Sony WF-1000XM4 True Wireless Noise Canceling Headphones. The WF-1000XM4 also supports Google's helpful new Fast Pair feature. When changing the earbud tips, try the earbud tip sizes in order from the larger ones to the smaller ones. The size of the left and right earbud tips may be different. The “Sony | Headphones Connect” app will also help you to determine which earbud tips are most suitable for you.

They sound great and anc can cancel out a decent amount of noise or artificially let in noise for awareness without noticably affecting sound quality. These do have issues where the left earbud would randomly stop playing audio if music or video is paused from the phone and would only reconnect if it's tapped to change anc mode while audio is paused. The other issue is probably a hardware defect where my right earbud reverberate a faint metallic tone from certain frequencys from it's speakers and outside sounds. Other than that I would still recommend then especially when they're on sale.

Especially if you have an Android phone and enable LDAC on this. Music quality isn't just determined by the quality of the earbuds but also the amount of data traveling through. Bluetooth limits this, but with LDAC enabled its gives you 3-4x the possible data making it the closest to lossless quality while still being bluetooth.
