I bought these headphones once I started working from home full time. Many of our neighbors, both adults and children, spend time outside, and often right outside of the room where I work. While the sound of kids playing is wonderful, it isn't conducive to concentrating and being productive. Finally it occurred to me that headphones like this might really help, and they do. While I'm working I listen primarily to sounds of nature: rain, birds, waves, and it makes such a difference. I have listened to music with them as well and it sounds fantastic, but I don't like to have music right in my ears so I keep that to a minimum. These cost more than I ever thought I'd pay for headphones, but the sound is great, the noise cancelling is superb, and they are super comfortable. I also like that the cord is a perfect length to plug into either my monitor or phone. I didn't buy these as any kind of aficionado, just trying to get my work done. I highly recommend them for noise cancelling, sound quality, and comfort.

The xm3 for me, is the best in the market for wireless headphones. It edges out the bose qc35 II (except in comfort) in sound quality, features and ANC. However, its inability to have multipoint/simultaneous connection may be a deal breaker for some. The NFC feature to switch over phones on the fly is great for Android phones. Battery life is as advertised, charging is super fast on usb C. Overall a great product.

Best noise cancelling headphones I have used in years. Long battery, quick charge time. sound quality is great and they are comfy. Still use old Bluetooth so hopefully next gen fixes that. can only connect to one thing at t time so switching from phone to tablet is a pain sometimes.

These headphone blew me away. I also have a pair of Bose comfort NC headphones that are good, but not as good as these. For the same price you get NFC compatibility which easily allows you to pair you phone with the headset just by tapping it. You also get a cool feature where you cover the right ear and you can hear someone talking to you. This comes in handy when you don't want to take off your headphones to talk to someone or to hear something in the background. Their is also a compatibility app that gives you lots of options and you can tweek it to your style. The touch controls on the headphones are a bit tricky and get some getting used to, but once you get that down you will actually like it. The headphones themselves are very comfortable I use them when I am in the library for a few hours and also on the plane. The NC does a good job of blocking out different levels of background noise. Build quality is solid and the case it comes in fits everything you need. Overall a great pair of NC and I totally recommend you get them.

No technical review here, just subjective observations. Headphone was a replacement for Bose 35 that dropped signal periodically, and is a delightful unit. weight and comfort is about the same as the Bose, but the clarity of sound reproduction is impressive. Battery life is adequate, and unit is very nice and comfortable.

Coming to these from the Plantronics Backbeat 2. These are superior in comfort and Bluetooth connectivity to my iPhone. I think the sound quality is better, too. The Backbeat can feel a bit muffled. In terms of controls, though, I did prefer the left-sided controls on the Backbeat as opposed to the right-sided on these XM3s. The touch gestures are nice, but I also found the pause/play button requires a bit more force than I expected, but the swipes are detected well. I got these mainly to provide better ANC for loud settings like NYC MTA/Subway and airplanes, but haven't tested in those environments yet, but I think it'll be better than Backbeat and Bose QC35. I tried the QC35s on an airplane, and if you tilt your head to stretch your back and neck, sometimes the noise-cancelling wavers, and you get really strange audio experiences :d I think that's really weird to experience, and for that reason alone, wouldn't ever use those regularly, since I try to reset my posture often. Highly recommend snagging these on discounted prices since the XM4s came out. Got these for $169 which was great.

This is my first pair of noise-cancelling headphones, and I've only had them a short time. I used them on a plane trip crossing the US, and was very happy. With young kids two seats away, and being close to the engines, this normally would have been an unpleasant experience. They don't make it totally quiet, but even with no music playing you can barely hear your surroundings. The only thing that was uncomfortable for me was using the touch controls for volume. When trying to change the volume, I would constantly switch tracks. I'm sure this just takes some getting used to. After using the headphones for 5 1/2 hours or so, the headphones were still at 70%. The headphones were very comfortable to wear, although after about an hour you can feel the heat starting to build. I would just take them off for a couple of minutes and be good for another hour of listening. The sound quality is amazing. I am one of those people who never knows the words to a song because I can never understand what they are saying. But with these headphones I felt like the vocals were so much more clear. Get a pair - you'll love them!

Amazing headphones. The battery life is even more amazing. The sound quality is superb. Nice, warm sound. Very comfortable to wear for extended periods. I'm very happy with this purchase.

I recommend these headphones. I wanted headphones for working out that had clear sound when needed and deep bass when needed. This has an app that allows you to change the sound you are looking for based on your music preference. I like that the deep bass that it can hit. Like the clarity Like the battery life. Like the sound canceling quality Like the ease of use and app that allows you to fine tune for what you are feeling like listening to.

This is my second Sony headphone in same series. Sound quality is very nice. I commute metro every day. Noise cancellation is good enough to cancel all noise in metro and enjoy music. No complaints abOut sound quality on phone calls. This light weight than previous MDR headphones and more comfortable.

I'm very pleased with my purchase. This is the best noise cancelling head phones i have and of course it came with a huge cost as well. It's very light weight. I could have it over my head, all the day and still don't feel any weight of it. I wish the price would be little cheaper. may be if i have waited an year or so from the product release date, i could have gotten it for the price i wanted. it took some time to control the volume, call answering and play/pause features using finger swipes

Fantastic product. Comfortable for a full 8-10 hour work day, sound quality exceptional, battery is industry-leading, noise cancelling and technology (app included) are functional and intuitive. Much better than the defective Bose pair I replaced.

These are the best headphones I have ever used. USB C, quick charge, gesture controls, super long battery life,back up 3.5mm listening method, comfort,top notch nose cancelling and amazing sound quality. I'd rate them slightly higher than even the renown Bose quiet comfort. These headphones go with me everywhere.

From the fit to the comfort, these headphones are spectacular. The earcup operating functionality is a great feature; volume control, pausing, intermittent ambient sound option, and changing the track. Noise cancelling works great, ambient sound is wonderful, phone calls work fine, and music sounds great.

These headphones sound really good, the noise cancelling is quite good as well. Build quality is super good, really high quality. Unfortunately, they're pretty uncomfortable for large heads. I get a headache within the first 20 minutes or so of wearing them. If you've got an average size or smaller head, they'd probably be great.

Excellent sounds quality, excellent noise cancelling, excellent battery life. Incredibly quick charging thanks to USB-C. Awesome "ambient sound" mode/gestures, and very comfortable to wear for long periods of time. My only complaint is that the touch controls on the right earcup aren't very responsive, and that you can only connect one bluetooth device at a time, so there is no way to seamlessly switch between devices. The trade-off is certainly worth it, though.

Awesome wireless headphones. They do get a bit hot on my ears depending on the environment I’m listening to them in but other than that these are excellent. Sound great, pretty good battery life and been durable so far. Touch controls are nice and functional. Glad I chose these over the beats and Bose.

Being accustomed to buyIng 5+ pairs of “noise canceling” headphone a year In the $40-$60, I was very hesitant of the price tag of these bad boys. After my first flight with these, I was so incredibly happy I took the plunge. First, I sat sat down in my seat put them on and was happy as a clam (The Noise Canceling was the real deal). Once the plane reached altitude, I calibrated the Sony - WH-1000XM3 Wireless Noise Cancelling Over -the-Ear Headphones with Google Assistant - Black via the app. At that point I truly had no idea I was on an airplane!!! When the flight attendant came through for drink serve, I was able to cup the right headphone and draw in ambient sound. At that point, I could hear her so well it was like I didn’t have over-the-ear headphones on at all. Super comfortable and an ABSOLUTE GAME CHANGER! WOULD RECOMMEND TIME AND TIME AGIAN. JUST WISH I WOULD HAVE FOUND THEM ON SALES BUT WHAT CAN YOU DO.

I buy most of my stuff here but I am going on a 15 hour flight to Australia and wanted them now. Another problem i have is I am hard of hearing and wear hearing aids. So if you put the headphones over the hearing aids think of buying the most expensive music player you can buy and plugging in a 98 cent speaker, sounds like crap. Most BT headphones are not loud enough to compensate for my hearing loss. Sony fixed it!! I can listen without my hearing aids and actually have to turn them down from full volume. I have got to listen to music and heard it like I used to know it, The highs, the lows, the voice, it almost brought tears to my eyes to be able to hear music like it was meant to be. The ability to adjust so many parameters thru the Sony app is truly amazing for me. For you folks that have no hearing difficulties be ready to be blown away. The noise cancellation is also amazing. Sony has brought Music back into my life. And to them I say thank you! Buy these!

These are AWESOME over ear Headphones. The Price was comparable to similar style and noted Brands. They are light weight and fit well!!! They have a nice clear and robust sound!!!
