Great headphones except for call quality

It pains me to have to return these after two months, but that's how long it took to find the deal-breaker. Overall, the sound quality is nearly perfect, a bit heavy on the bass side, but fixable with the EQ. Ease of use is also nearly perfect, except for auto-pairing, which is available on Jabra Elite 85H. I use these in a loud gym, and I got an important phone call the other day. I noticed as soon as the ring tone came on that the noise cancelling disappeared and the roar of gym noise overtook the incoming call. I desperately tried to hear the caller, but it was impossible over the ambient noise. I though for sure there would be a setting in the app to set the noise cancelling to stay on for calls. But I couldn't find it, so I sent a tech support request. They confirmed that the noise cancelling function is NOT available during calls! Users have been requesting that feature on the Sony forum for over a year, and it just doesn't seem to be a priority to fix this. It's also kind of surprising that it's never mentioned in the glowing reviews where these cans are given top rating. I am disappointedly returning them and hope to find a similar product with better call quality.

Got these with my Xperia 1. Took them on my trip to Europe. They are truly wonderful. Sound quality is amazing, noise canceling is great, comfort is best I've had, battery life is forever. Highly recommend these to anyone. I have no negative comments about these headphones.

Great headphones ruined by veiled highs and lag

I loved these headphones in most respects. They're very comfortable, the battery lasts forever, and the ANC is fantastic. However, I had a few problems that eventually resulted in my returning them: 1) As indicated above, I found certain higher frequencies to be recessed in a way that sometimes gave the impression that I was listening through cotton balls. This particularly affected vocal 'S' sounds, and in some cases was prominent enough to make it sound like vocalists had lisps. 2) EQ functionality that might have allowed me to compensate for the above issue requires that "high quality" mode (LDAC) be turned off. Bummer. It's worth noting that this is also true of other functions that perform signal processing. 3) In my very limited experience, these were basically unusable for watching video where sync is important. I watched a couple of movies on a plane (so the caveat exists that the source was highly imperfect) and there appeared to be a solid couple hundred milliseconds of lag. This was enough to render the experience quite frustrating for me. I didn't try other video sources or plug the headphones in, so this point comes heavily qualified. I really wanted to love these headphones, and I did in many ways. I might end up picking up a second pair just to be sure the first pair wasn't flawed in a way that caused one or more of the above issues.

Purchased these for my wife. She tried several brands and found that these fit around her ears for greatest comfort. She uses them at work to quiet her surroundings and likes the easy hand over mute option. They hold a charge and are easy to pair with her phone.

The best wireless headphone I have ever own to date. Quality sound from Sony and comfortable to use for over 2 hours. The noise cancelling features are also amazing and can be adjusted using the phone. Battery life is excellent and so far I've only charged it once after two weeks of use.

This headset is awesome! Great sound, bass, and features. Oh, and really comfortable, can wear them for hours and would not really notice that I am wearing them, other than I cannot hear anything other than whatever is playing in the headset.

I use this set in a very noisy production auto body shop with approx. 10 other technicians hammering steel, cutting, chiseling, welding, hydraulic frame machines and Sanders all going at once some times, simply put these cancel out most of the noise in an excellent fashion yet the user interface and controls work very well I'm impressed, engineered well, comfortable, the battery life is phenomenal, I Bluetooth music most of the day from my phone to the headset but I also take phone calls as well people tell me they hear me clearly except when there is a lot of noise in the shop but they couldn't hear me on my phone straight up in that fashion. I take them home and use them when listening to YouTube at night Etc. They have become a regular part of my daily routine and appeared to be durable I have only owned them for about a month but I have dropped them and hit them on things while working and they do not seem to be affected in the least,

I travel for business and these headphones are the best I've used for noise cancellation and quality of sound. The price is up there...but they are 100% worth it. Very comfortable and easy to use. Also, the battery lasts at least 5-6 domestic flights.

The deeper, wider, softer ear cups greatly increase the comfort level - a vast improvement over the MX2s. Redesigned head band is also improved with better fit. Noise canceling and sound still best in class. Improvements make the choice no longer a toss-up between these and the Bose.

Fantastic sound quality and noise cancellation. USB-C charging, comfortable. Currently as of the time of review the replacement model (WH-1000XM4) is the same price as these, so obviously given that choice I'd go with XM4s. However I got these on sale for considerably less than the XM4s, and given that I'm extremely happy with the slightly older model. If you can find them for a significantly cheaper price than the new model, this is the one I'd go for (unless the ability to be paired with multiple devices simultaneously, which the XM4s can do but these can't, is a huge deal to you).

Great sound. Long battery life. Noise cancellation that works maybe TOO good, and incredibly comfortable. These rival my best wired headphones for sound while having all the modern tech you could want. They aren't cheap, but well worth the investment.

I had these for over a month before I returned them. I needed a replacement for my Bose QC 35 and these seemed to fit the bill. While they sound amazing, have great noise cancelling, have some awesome features, and are decently comfortable, I still preferred my now last generation Bose headphones. The reason I ended up exchanging these for the new generation of Bose that run for the same price are as follows. While both offer great comfort the Bose stay comfortable over a longer wear time. Both have great apps that help with connecting to devices but these only connect to 1 device at a time while I constantly have my Bose connected to 3 devices at once. Also I found that the Sonys required me to connect to a device every time I turned them on while the Bose connect to all devices automatically after being turned on. I still gave these a 4 star because they are great headphones, so great that it took me over a month before I finally returned them. However I would still recommend the Bose QC II for the same price.

First, these headphones do not create air pressure within your ears and do not put pressure on your ears. I am super picky, and have been using bose headphones for years. However, bose sure has some competition with these. The palm (three fingers work) over the right ear to immediately feed in outside sound and lower the music volume is an insane feature. You will use this feature way more than you think and you will not know how you used headphones before without it. Ambient sound control is amazing for instances where you need to hear yourself speak, touch controls are easy to get used to but hard at first, super super super comfy. I wear mine for 6 hours or so at a time at work and never feel the need to remove them. You're reading this because you are contemplating buying these, stop contemplating and forget the QC's.
