Great Noise Cancelling headphones!

Can’t hear anything when on noise canceling mode and the best part is the quick one touch to listen to someone speaking. Only thing I notice is sometimes my ears will get hot after wearing them for a while. My daughter will take these on her airplane travel and she loves them as well!

|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sony - WH-1000XM3 Wireless Noise Canceling Over-the-Ear Headphones - Silver The description said silver, what I got when I opened the box was black. To be completely honest I prefer the black. The headphones are extremely comfortable and feel light while you have them on. They have standard buttons for on/off/Bluetooth and noise canceling functions. The buttons, or really lack of buttons for all other functions, are a touch sensitive right ear piece. This function is so much better than physical buttons. Just a finger moving over the ear piece changes volume, skip forward, skip back, answer phone, pause, and play. When I first paired them with my phone I was a little taken aback by how loud they weren’t. They played at a nice listening level but delivered no punch at all. I then paired them with my stereo, all the volume and punch I wanted was available. I attempted to pair them to both devices at the same time. They will not accept being paired to 2 devices at the same time. You have to pick one and use it. There is no need to un-pair and re-pair them, just disconnect device 1 and device 2 will be able to use them. I tried 3 different music apps on my phone (Android) and was just not happy with the overall sound volume and missing punch. I downloading the Sony App and did an update to the headphones that the App said they needed. The App is very helpful, full functionality is supported through the App. Within 5 minutes I had all the volume and punch I was expecting. They reproduce down to 25Hz cleanly, I am unable to test the high end because I can’t hear it. The charging cord supplied is worthless, it’s 7” long. Why even bother to put one in at that length. No charging adapter is supplied so you’ll need to use the one from your phone. They come with a 1/8” headphone cord that’s 4 feet long as well as an old style Aircraft adapter. Not sure why that’s in there, maybe it’s making a comeback in some other systems. When driven from the corded adapter they require no power. If you do turn them on you’ll have noise canceling as well as the input from your stereo. But again, the corded input takes priority and your phone will be disconnected. The cord is also stereo only, if you want to use them as a headset with your phone you need to use Bluetooth. They are supplied with a zippered hard case and they fold up to fit. In my case, to get the best sound from my phone, it is required you use the App. Since the App adds so much functionality to them this is really not a drawback. The noise canceling function can be programmed from the App to suit what you’re doing. The App also gives you information about the headphones, like battery level and software updates. These are now my daily use headphones because they quiet the room while giving you a beautiful warm listening experience.
