My son bought these for himself. He had issues within the first year with the noise cancelling feature not working. They are expensive for how much trouble he has had with them. when they work they're great.

I love how you can have great audio with great battery life. Plus you can change the track straight from the headset without going to your phone it's awesomeness

I had the M1 and this is much improved version. It's lighter and I appreciate they fixed the head band. The previous version were too flat at the top. Very happy with this purchase

The audio is so clear and crisp on these it feels like you’re surrounded by the sound alone at all times. Best noise canceling headphones I’ve tried up to date.

These are the best Noise Cancelling headphones I have owned and my other pair is a set of Bose. The app for your smartphone gives nearly unlimited customization of the sound through various presets as well as a manual option for a true custom sound. You can shift the position of the sound to any desired direction, like in front, behind or to either side of yourself as well as total surround sound. Noise cancellation is awesome. TV on and I couldn't hear it at all, But with the push of one of the two buttons I can allow ambient noise through when desired. The only other button is the power button. They even completely blocked out the train going down the tracks that are 1500 feet from our house as well as the trains horn blowing at 4 crossings in a one mile stretch that are usually disruptive to listening to anything. The cat, and grass cutting outside and road noise as folks were coming home from work into the development were also totally silent. Answering phone calls just takes a double tap to the touch panel on the outside of the right earpiece and the sound quality on my end of the conversation as well as on the other end according to my wife was really great as well. Another double tap will end the conversation. The touch panel on the right earpiece is also where you take care of volume adjustments by sliding your finger up to increase or down to decrease as well as to skip or repeat a track by sliding your finger forward or backward on the panel. The touch panel functions can be handled from your phone as well if you want to do so. They were super easy to pair with my iPhone and my Sony Xperia Xz2 android. They also easily paired with the TV soundbar and my laptop. These are very sleek looking, adjustable for the perfect comfort fit, and a 30 hour battery life is absolutely fantastic. Software updates for the headphones are done through Bluetooth from your phone and the headphone app. They come with a: Protective case USB C to USB charging cable Airline plugin adapter for using with an in flight movie 3.5 Audio jack plug in for a direct corded connection to your device if desired. My only negative comment is the charging cable is way too short(Only around 8 inches) so I will be picking up another USB C to USB cable in a longer length

These rival the Bose noise isolation headset that are a good amount more. I have a pair of skull Candy noise isolation headphones that are not quite up to these standards in noise isolation

Best pair of headphones I have ever owned. The last generation ones gave me a vacuum tube feeling when the ANC was turned on but this latest model doesn't exhibit the same flaws.

These headphones are great for listening to music but not quite what I expected from noise canceling headphones. Maybe I’m just expecting too much but I thought that I would be able to hear pretty much nothing except for what was coming through headphones and unfortunately that’s just not the case

I was debating if these headphones were good for the gym, but after having them for 5 months I know I made the right choice and I am very happy with the product.

Coming from the Bose QuietComfort II these are amazing. The ability to adjust the ambient sound puts them over the top for commuting or “tuning out coworkers” in the office.

I've never experienced a headset like this before. The setup and connection is easy. It's comfortable to wear. I'm convinced the noise cancelling has no equal in the current marketplace. It uses bluetooth for your phone and also comes with a 3.5mm cable for other applications such as a laptop. Battery life is very good as well. I haven't had an opportunity to use this on a plane yet but I can't wait to travel with them! The controls on the side to change track and adjust volume are amazing additions. Not to mention that it works with Google Assistant! It's a good thing these are comfortable to wear because I find myself not wanting to take them off.

Used them on a trip to Hawaii. Did a good job of making the flight comfortable. The are easy to wear and I did not feel any fatigue from wearing them for long periods. Battery lasted a long time. They are expensive and I don't know how often I will wear them and if it is worth the cost.

Love the different audio modes - ambient sound in particular, you don't even have to take these off to listen to someone talking - just changes the mode

Everything about these headphones are amazing! Slightly less comfortable than the Bose but everything else makes up for the little difference in the slight lack of comfort.

I bought these to cancel out the near nightly noise during the summer. Fantastic at doing that and now I have a great excuse to listen to great music.

These headphones are, quite simply, remarkable. Using the Sony headphone app, pairing is simple and fast. The app also allows tailoring of the sound and surround effects. Additionally, it will automatically adjust the baseline settings based on where you are, how the headphones fit on your head, any obstructions (like long hair), and Sony recommends you rerun this when conditions change significantly. One of the measurements it takes is air pressure, which means if you are planning to use them both at home and in the air, you may need to rerun it when each time. Or, if you’re like me and go from 2300m to 0m above sea level every week, you’ll want to adjust them each time; at least you will if you want optimal sound. And, finally, the app allows you to control the Clear Bass and listener position. (More under sound.) Charging with the included USB-C cable is also fast - the claim of a five hour charge in five minutes may be an understatement. I don’t know how long the charge will last, but it’s clearly far longer than my flights around the U.S., and today it has lasted not just through my flights, but also a seven hour delay at the airport. The headphones are comfortable and easy to adjust to fit. The included case is reasonably compact, but like any over-ear headphones will take up some luggage space. Controls are invisible but simple. Two buttons on the left ear cup for power and noise cancelation. The unmarked right cup uses a series of gestures - tap twice to answer or hang up the phone, same two taps to pause or start audio. Swipe right or left to skip tracks, up or down for volume. The funniest looking motion is using your palm to make a circular motion - this pauses your audio source, turns off noise cancellation, and activates the external mics - handy for responding to a quick question, say from a flight attendant. Removing your palm resturns you to the previous mode. In addition to a very clear Bluetooth connection, the XM3 comes with a standard mini-headphone cord to plug into other devices - laptop, airline entertainment system, your stereo, etc. This is a very convenient feature, making these headphones quite versatile. Noise cancellation is remarkable. Most noise cancellation systems are great at blocking continuous noises (think engine drone), bad at blocking sudden noises (think crying babies). This is the first noise cancellation I’ve used that effectively blocks both. Walking through an airport with the system on, I could see lips moving but heard no conversations. What I’ve left to the end is the sound. These headphones sound remarkable. They have a wide frequency response, with a smooth, continuous profile. There are no muddied frequencies, no unexpected drops or emphasis. The sound field is wide, with distinct separation. The aforementioned Clear Bass allows crisp base emphasis (or de-emphasis) without distortion. The listener position allows you to select where you appear to be relative to the sound - front, rear, center, right, left. Yes, they are expensive, but when you consider their fast charging, long battery life, simple controls, outstanding noise cancellation, and amazing sound, they feel like a bargain. Again, wow.
