For the price I didn't feel either of the brand's were worth their asking price! Of the 3 pairs 2 don't allow much in the way of volume. Not all brands include a charging cord (say what?) One pair made me sweat between the ear phone & my ears, one pair felt a little uncomfortable to wear. I did however, REALLY like the vibration feature on the SkullCandy brand but, overall, I wasn't impressed enough to keep any of the 3 brands I had initially purchased. No one brand stood out way above the others, though, I would rate the Sony brand 3rd of the three.

The only con is that on a long trip they get a little warm on the ear and the head.

The assistant, should be removed from future versions. Also, I never need any of the ambient functionality and yet it gets in my way have to shuffle past two of them now to turn on noise cancelling. Over engineered. Got to do something about power going off when unplugging wire from device. I just want to switch to bluetooth and power goes off when I need it on. I like them overall though. Could be better by removing unused features.

If the noise canceling effect is not sufficient, please try the following:
Make sure that the noise canceling function is turned on.
Adjust the earpad position to fit your ears.
The noise canceling function is effective in low frequency ranges such as airplanes, trains, offices, near air-conditioning, and is not as effective for higher frequencies, such as human voices.
Please ensure to have the Sony | Headphones Connect app downloaded. It includes Adaptive Sound Control—which automatically adjusts noise canceling based on your activity, and an equalizer—which can be customized to fine-tune your music.
