The sound of these headphones is amazing. I mistakingly thought the noise cancelling would be useful when not listening to music. Unfortunately, it is not. I work remote and I need quiet to concentrate and write. I’ll go back to my $30 safety ear muffs from Lowe’s.

Finally The Headset I Ended Up With

Build Quality: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - Does scratch leave marks? No - Does paint easily peels off? No - Durability: Doesn't break with medium strength pulling. Little more flexible than the previous models. Seems good enough. - Notes: Good quality as everyone knows by previous #I and II models. As expected. Comfort: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - Author's very private head size: Medium to Large - Weight: Light. Feels better than some wired ones. I believe Boss QC35 II is tiny bit lighter but not noticeable. - Sweat Control: Seems fine but please note that it's winter as of now I'm writing this review. - Cup Vacuum Pressure: Almost none unlike many other noise canceling headphones. - Notes: Keep in mind that I wasn't comfortable in its previous models, Boss QC 35 and many others because they pressured my styloid (under ears where blood lines cross). This one doesn't and I would wear this over 6 hours while gaming, programming... etc. Sound Quality: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - Notes: I don't consider myself as an audiophile even though I own many headsets. So I'll keep it short. It is not stunning but unbelievably good for a wireless headsets with this weight. Battery Life: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (30 hours with NC on and 38 hours with NC off) - Notes: I haven't tried using it for 30 hours straight but seems close or little less. For some of you want to compare it with QC35 II, QC35 II has 20 hours with NC on and 40 hours with NC off. Other Stuffs - Finger Controls: Orgas... I mean it's clear. This was always good anyway but the system seems to take inputs more clearly than its previous models. Overall: - Do I consider this over Bose QC II or any other headsets with similar price? Absolutely. - Sony really pushed this model in the best way possible. Probably top #1 noise canceling and wireless headset out in the market.

Worst sound quality especially when compared to SONY XB950BT headphones purchased in 2016. The sound from WH-1000XM3 is very unclear, the treble and bass both. This amplifies when using the wired 3.5mm jack. One would think that 4 - 40kHz frequency range that SONY promises, the headphones would deliver decent sound over a wired connection. I'm not going to be using wireless mode all the time, whether I run out of battery when on the go or just would like to experience the full range of sound, but with this one, it sounds worst than a $3 earphones. No bass and no crisp clear high frequency. And why the hell should I need to use an app to tweak the settings? Why can't it play decent out the box without the app settings like headphones from couple years ago used to? The XB950BT are still holding up as of today. The only reason I purchased WH-1000XM3 is because the ear cups on the 950BT were getting old. Never have I made such a horrible headphone purchase. The only reason this headphones are getting a good review imo is because SONY is pushing for them. The only decent thing is the audio quality over a phone which can be achieved with far cheaper headphones or earbuds. I'd like to give a -10 (negative 10) rating if possible. Returning within one day.

Super Sad.. I bought only Sony in the 80's. I finally came around to buy a big purchase from Sony again, and these were fantastic for the first 3 months, great noise cancellation, great features for travelling. Last time I tried to use it the hising/static from one ear was unbearable it hurt my ear. And now I am past the return time on these at Best Buy. I will have to see if Sony will repair. This is a known issue: https://community.sony.co.uk/t5/portable-audio/wh-1000xm3-loud-hiss-from-noise-cancelling/td-p/2533322

    A Good Item

This is a good item, and definitely better than some I have tried. The best aspect, in my opinion, is that this item feels very comfortable. That is a big deal for me because I hate it when I am wearing headphones that hurt the top of my head or my ears. Additionally, some headphones hurt my head when I am wearing glasses. This is not a problem with these headphones. The battery is long lasting, as well. The noise cancelling feature works well. The best part of the noise cancelling feature is that you can touch the right side of the headphones and it will turn off the noise cancelling feature until you let go of the right side of the headphones. This is great for when someone is talking to you because I do not have to pause the music. And then as soon as I let go of the right side of the headphones the music comes back at the same level as before. While there is nothing that really makes these headphones great, there is plenty of things that make this item good. In fact, these are the headphones that I use the most right now.

Did not even last a year. First bought them they were the best headphones ever I bought them February 20, 2019 no it is October 11, 2020 and after spending $350 of hard earned money they are dead. Does not turn on. The last month and a half they started acting odd noise canceling wasn’t working ambient sound mode was not working correctly and now today they are a $350 paperweight. If I were you I would buy them again but you need to buy the $90 warranty but to be fair they should last at least one year that is unacceptable and I feel thoroughly ripped off.

These are a big improvement over the last model. They are more comfortable with the band feeling wider than before. The noise canceling seems to block out more of the talking around me than before. I love the feature where you hold your hand against the right side to lower the volume and hear your surroundings. They charge very fast with a USB-C cord and the battery life is about what they claim. The only downside is no plug was provided just a short USB-C cable but I have usb plug chargers already. These really are worth the money and use them every day at work to drown out everyone talking while I focus on work.

Hi JayNYOne, thank you for purchasing the WH1000XM3. While we are glad that you like the audio quality, we regret that you're having an issue during phone calls. This is usually not the case for our headphones nor the experience we want you to have. For call quality issues, please initializing the headset to restore factory settings.

Turn off the headset while the USB Type-C cable is disconnected and then press and hold the power button and the NC/AMBIENT button simultaneously for 7 seconds or more.

    Nausea-inducing Noise Cancellation

Had to return these. The noise cancellation IS superior; however, each time it was activated, I became severely nauseous with 15-20 minutes. After this happened 4-5 times, and only when ANC was active, I concluded that feeling EXACTLY like I was getting very car-sick was not worth it. This doesn't happen with the Bose QCs, (even though these Sony's beat the QC35II in almost every way). If I could give these ZERO stars, I would. I can only imagine what could happen if you had a condition like epilepsy.

I purchased this headphones on 22nd dec and returned next day because people were complaining that they cannot hear me when I’m on call which is one of the main features I see in a fancy expensive headphones. Pros: 1.Sound quality is exceptional 2.you have many equaliser options 3.sound optimiser Cons: 1. Mic doesn’t work at all even if you are in an empty room with no background noise. So if you need a headphones just for music I will recommend you to buy.

This is my 2nd pair of Sony NC headphones (last years model included). With a few minor changes and improvements over the M2's. By far Sony has surpassed the Bose Quiet Comfort's. The other big change is that Sony has moved from Micro-USB to USB-C charging. As part of the switch, there's a new quick-charge feature that gives you 5 hours of use from a 10-minute charge. That's pretty impressive -- and the 30 hours of battery life at moderate volume levels is also great. My one big gripe has been fixed. The touch controls are much more fluid and functional this time around.

First - it is almost universally commented on youtube and elsewhere that the mic on these headphones is terrible. They are not usable for calls or videoconferencing. Second - these just haven't held up well in the year that I've owned them. Admittedly I use them hard, while exercising and such, but they have never been water damaged or anything. A year in they are a lot glitchier than when I bought them. I'd stay away from these unless Sony fixes the mic, the durability problem might just be my own issue.
