We have both the Sony XM3 and the new Bose 700 my girlfriend has the Bose we use them mostly when we travel to Europe on long flites for Vacations we are both 60ish the Sony`s are great at everything Noise Canceling is top notch ! and connect to my tablet with Blu-tooth first time every time ! their App is super easy to use and lots of options they are super comfy to ware for long periods.the Bose 700`s have Great Noise Canceling also but the App for the Bose is a nightmare ! most of the time, connecting Blu-tooth is just down right a hit or miss, it just won`t connect !! my girlfriend gets frustrated and just uses the plug in for her tablet. The sound from both is top notch but the Sony comes out on top here they just sound better ! the Sony optimizer works great it sets the headphones for pressure in the plane and does it well.the different Noise Canceling settings on the Bose work well you can set 3 favorites and move to any one of them with a push of a button.Sony has done a great job with the XM3 I myself love these headphones and the battery life is outstanding I think the lady will be getting the Sony`s as well a bit pricy but you get what you pay for and still cheaper than the Bose....Good job Sony.

The noise cancelling worked amazing for all of one day they never even got worn like that and then the noise cancelling stopped and you couldnt get it back to noise cancelling and when you tried to follow the instructions it got you absolutely no where at all. For the price you think it would work greatly but unfortunately the price doesnt say anything about value with this product and I dont blame best buy at all best buy is an amazing company!

This was a great pair of headphones until I updated my iPhone’s system software. Now, my iPhone and iPad can’t connect to it and Sony seems in no hurry to fix the compatibility issue. I’d return it for Bose headphones if I weren’t past the return window.

    Upgraded from the WH-1000XM2

I have had last years model, the M2, for a few months. They are phenomenal. Highly recommend. I upgraded to these new M3's after trying them on in the store. They fit my ears much better and more comfortable. Not that the M2s hurt, but after an hour or so, I feel they were squeezing my ear too much. M3s cover my ear completely. - For music quality, excellent like the M2s. I like bass and these deliver. The Sony app you can adjust EQ or use your own EQ app. - Noise cancelling - even better. And the M2's are amazing, even blocking out ambulance sirens. But M3's, even greater. I'm typing these with my crazy loud wash machine nearby, and I can just barely here it. If I take headphones off, I can barely hear any voices inside. - and finally......USB-C port! I hate those old micro ports that get jammed up after awhile. - My only complaint... Not Bluetooth 5....why Sony? Its been out for a year now and most phones come with 5 now. 5 has greater range and handles more data than 4.2. Good luck finding a pair. I purchased mine here on BB online, just have to keep checking few times per day, and don't hesitate. Although, if money is an issue. the M2 version from last year might be a great option if they are on sale or slightly used.

I gave this device a one star because it was hurting my right ear within 10 minutes. I tried wearing them at different times but I still had the same result.. All the functions worked great but if I can't wear them then they are no use to me. I watched some Youtube videos and they suggested taking out the padding in the ear cup.. I would recommend them for people that have no problems with the ear cup being to shallow..

This does not allow to connect to two devices simultaneously. So I cannot be watching a movie on my computer and then take a call that comes on my phone. I have to disconnect from.the PC to connect to the phone and then take a call. By then the call would have gotten disconnected. This does not work for me. Hence I returned it. I wish Song was explicit about this product gap on their website.

Hi Jeff, we are sorry to hear that the Bluetooth connection stopped working. This is definitely not the experience we'd like you to have. Please check the following if you're unable to make Bluetooth connection:

Check that the headset is turned on.
Check that the Bluetooth device is turned on and the Bluetooth function is on.
If the headset automatically connects to the last connected Bluetooth device, you may fail to connect the headset to other devices via the Bluetooth function. In that case, operate the last connected Bluetooth device and disconnect the Bluetooth connection.
The Bluetooth device is in sleep mode. Cancel the sleep mode.
The Bluetooth connection is terminated. Make the Bluetooth connection again. In case that the pairing information for the headset has been deleted on the connected device, pair the headset with the device again.

You may also reset the headphones by pressing the power button and the NC/AMBIENT button simultaneously while charging. The headset will be reset. The device registration (pairing) information is not deleted.

If the headset does not operate correctly even after resetting, initialize the headset to restore factory settings.

I owned the previous version WH1000XM2 and while I thought the noise cancellation was top notch; I could never wear them for more than a few hours without my ears hurting. I am so happy to say that I just got off a 9 hour flight with my new WH1000XM3 and I didnt have to take them off even once. The pain is gone!! I believe its because the ear cups are bigger and the headband is more evenly distributing the weight. Sound is amazing!! I dont know why another review was saying that voices are not cancelled bc on my flight I was in my own world for 9 hours and didnt even hear announcements from the captain/crew bc the noice cancellation is so effective. Finally the comfort of the Bose QCII with the powerful Sony Noice Cancellation; it doesnt get any better than the WH1000XM3!!

Broke after about six months of occasional use only when traveling. Noise cancellation function turns on and off by itself and gets a loud humming in the background so can't really hear the actual audio you are listening to. Terribly disappointing to spend a premium price and get a poor quality product that breaks so soon.

I've been looking for a great pair of NC BT headphones. I have always been a Bose fan and still am. I started off buying the Bose QC35 II and loved them but I had a lot of connectivity issues with my computer. Worked good for a week under Linux but didn't work under W7 since they were LE BT. I have no desire to pay the M$ tax for their latest OS when they worked fine under Linux. After a week I started having connectivity issues. Then the issues followed to my phone. So I decided to try the Beats Studio 3's. They looked good and sounded decent but it became clear that I was buying a name just like the Bose but they didn't sound as good. So I went to exchange the Beats for the Sony WH1000XM2's but I discovered these had just released. So I tried the XM2's and ordered the XM3's. I am blown away to say the least. They have better bass and treble than either the Bose or Beats. Looks great and the NC hands down beats the Bose and Beats in my experience. They are just as comfortable as the Bose and the ear cup depth is better. You can't go wrong for just $50 more.

Hi AjKa, we are sorry to hear that the WH-1000XM3 Headphones did not meet your expectations when it comes to the noise cancelling out when you are outside. For this, please make sure that the noise canceling function is turned on. Adjust the earpad position to fit your ears this will greatly improve the effect of noise cancelling. Also, please keep in mind that the noise canceling function is effective in low frequency ranges such as airplanes, trains, offices, near air-conditioning, and is not as effective for higher frequencies, such as human voices.
