Wow!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wow! The sound on these things is amazing. This was my first time purchasing higher end headphones and over the ear (always avoided over the ear because they hurt after minutes with glasses). The sound quality is so amazing It's like rediscovering music. To my surprise they're extremely comfortable even after extended use. Comfortable and light to the point you can even forget they're there. You won't be disappointed with this purchase. They sound amazing, great features, extremely comfortable, and they look great (personally love the copper accents).

Very happy!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I LOVE these headphones. I at first bought a pair of Bose Quiet Comfort 2's which I thought were great, but then a coworker let me try these Sony's and they are clearly better in just about every way. Being able to make adjustments to the EQ and other features with the app is truly next level. These have changed the way I listen to music, audio books and more. Pros: Sound quality Comfort Battery life Adjustable EQ Cons: It's not horrible, but the call quality could be a little better. I still prefer my AirPods for headset calls. These are super comfortable, don't get me wrong, but compared to the Bose these a just a tiny bit heavier and clamp harder.

Overhyped
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had the QC, went to this and these are just plain overhyped. Yes they're loud and "Bass"y but the Bose just have more detailed enjoyable sound defenition. Plus its also annoying that the foam inside touches your ears.

Posted .Hi Shinraorg, we regret to hear that the headphones did not meet your expectations. Please be assured we take this very seriously and continuously strive to improve our products. If you haven’t already you should check out the Headphones Connect App. It includes Adaptive Sound Control—which automatically adjusts noise canceling based on your activity, and an equalizer—which can be customized to fine-tune your music. This will give you more control over your headphones and their performance. Sincerely, Erin

Quiet and Pillowy Soft
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have always been a Bose fan because I like noise cancelling headphones. I like being able to shut out the world and focus and Bose always had the best headphones. The Bose QC35IIs are great, but I think I can say that Sony might have them beat. DESIGN These are sharp executive looking headphones. They have a clean look and I like the "copper" accents. They are subtle yet stylish. I appreciate the clean look. The buttons that you use (power and noise cancelling/ambient noise) are easy to locate when in use. They adjust easily and stay in place. FIT AND COMFORT I describe these as pillowy soft because they are. The ear cushions have a supple quality about them that scream comfort. It's like having two pillows pushed against your head. The ear cups sit around the ear well and stay put on your head. I generally get hot wearing over the ear headphones (of any brand) for an extended period of time but not these Sonys. I can get a little hot outside depending on the weather, but for just general indoor use I've yet to get hot. In fact, I really do forget I'm wearing these. The cushioned headband is also really nice and adds to the comfort level. SOUND and NOISE CANCELLING This is the bread and butter and why you should buy these headphones if you're in the market. I thought Sony did a great job of creating a balanced sound. With the noise cancelling chip, the headphones just create a pure sound that brings out details in music that you haven't heard before. I'm no audiophile, but the sound is a nice balance of highs and lows. These don't "thump" like other headphones (Even the Sony high bass models) but they don't need to. You're not going to put these on and wish you had more bass. Whether it's hip hop, classical, country or alternative rock, these headphones produce a fantastic sound across the board that is a pleasure. The noise cancellation I must say is second to none. It's a treat to have a lot of background noise with traffic, and then put these on and it's like you're in a sound proof booth. yes, if someone is near you and talking to you, you can hear the mumbles (you couldn't carry on a conversation) but in terms of blocking out background noise it's scary good. I don't know much about the technical details, but it just works. BATTERY AND FEATURES The headphones come with a nice carrybag which is a must for something this expensive. The carrying bag is nearly identical in size to the Bose brand headphones and that's a good thing. These are relatively large headphones, but they fold flat in a way that makes them about as compact as they can get. The case also includes a short USB C charging cable and AUX cable (and two prong flight adapter which I appreciate the thought, but I can't remember the last time I was on a flight with one). One of my favorite features is USB C. I know that sounds silly, but I like to travel light and I hate carrying more cables than necessary. My phone uses USB C and now I can use the same cable. I don't use the AUX port much, relying on Bluetooth, but I still like having it just in case. The battery charges pretty quickly and seems to last forever. I can't say it gets 20 hours as advertised because I've never listened to them for 20 straight hours, but I've gone weeks with on and off use (I don't use them every single day) and still have battery to spare. They have the option to turn off noise cancelling which allows outside sound in, which works as advertised, you can talk to people that way even though it's weird that you're wearing headphones, but to me, that defeats the purpose of noise canceling headphones. PERFORMANCE Lastly, I'm sensitive to a headphones Bluetooth performance. Does it skip? With some smaller headphones with smaller BT chips, you can see some skipping. I have experience some skipping with these headphones, at times, I'm guessing because of outside BT interference, but it is by no means AT ALL a deal breaker. It is in a sense, something you have to deal with in any BT headphones. I can say the range is phenomenal. Most of the time when I'm listening to music my phone is in my pocket, but I was able to walk many feet and rooms away from my phone without the music skipping. this isn't a big deal to me, because again, I generally keep my phone with me in my pocket, but if you were using them with a computer and walked away, you can take some comfort that you can walk away without losing your tunes. CONCLUSION There's a new noise cancelling sheriff in town. These Sony cans, while pricey, are, I believe, the best in town in terms of noise cancelling performance. there might be better high end audio performing headphones, but they won't beat the noise cancelling and I promise for the average to above average music listener, these are well more than adequate regarding music quality. One more thing, in terms of taking calls, these work just fine, although I generally disconnect BT when getting a call. I prefer to hold a phone to my head. But if you take calls with headphones, in my experience these performed well with no drops and good call quality.

Reall good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really good headphones. Only problem is the bass can get kind of muddy at times. It isn’t as clear as the Bose but does have more boom in a nice way plus a warmer sound. For adult contemporary , R&B , warmer country music, ballads , audiobooks it is wonderful. For classical, some rock, some pop songs it is great but not perfect on the sharper notes. The noice cancellation works really well. I am often working with a diesel engine and it totally blocks the sound of the engine most days. Also conversations are not heard unless I concentrate on hearing them or turn the nc down. I don’t regret the price as much after having them for a while. The build quality does leave something to be desired. The hinges are the best

Nice head phones
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This my first noise canceling headphones. I read a lot of reviews on these head phones compared to the Bose Q35 II. I chose the Sony because of the better noise canceling abilities compared to the Bose. here are my thoughts on the Sony. Pro: noise cancelling is excellent. sound quality is good. cool feature to be able to adjust noise cancellation on phone app. comfortable to wear Con: expensive it fits a little loose (I guess I must have a smaller head) the ear cups do get alittle warm touch controls are cool, but takes getting used too. bluetooth range is good, but if you are too far away, the sound can cut out if your hand is on the side of the L ear cup (probably where the antenna is). it can only pair with one device at a time. In spite of the flaws/cons, I am still happy with my purchase and would buy it again.

I wore them for a couple hours straight and could hardly tell they were there. Very satisfied with these.

Best active noise cancelling headphones ever!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First of all, let me preface this with the fact that I have both the WF SP700 and the MDR XB70BT so I have some experience with Sony's wireless headphones. The WH 1000XM3 blow those two headphones and all my expectations away. The bass and sound is amazing. The noise cancelling is second to none and the battery life doesn't disappoint. It paired easily with my Xperia 1 and let's me know upon connecting it's battery level. Check out all the YouTube reviews... These reign supreme over all other headphones.

Absolute Best Headphones currently on the Market!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There is not enough stars to give these headphones. It is hard to believe that Sony was able to take such a great headphone and make it even better with added features over the previous rendition. I hands down believe these are the best noise cancelling Bluetooth headphones that currently exists. Their are a few close competitors but nothing is able to beat these with there added features. The design quality is slightly upgraded from the previous generation and all of the negatives have been addressed. For example, the bad sits closer to your head making them less bulky. The top padding and ear cups are very soft and will allow you to use these all day without feeling discomfort. They are slightly heavier than other headphones but you are not able to tell once they are on your head. They are built out of high quality materials and leather which should last and hold up against anything. I am a huge fan of the color schemes as they have a high quality professional look to them. I could not believe how well the noise cancelling worked on these headphones. It is like nothing else I have used before. Their are many adjustments to the noise cancelling that you can make depending on the environment that you are in. One of my favorite features was being able to cup the right ear with my hand and it silenced any audio and enhanced the audio from you surroundings. This allows for you to listen to someone or communicate without having to take off your headphones. The touch controls on the side ear cup are very straight forward and easy to use although I found them to be sensitive. If you accidentally touch them you will pause, skip etc. your audio. This was not a huge issue and the controls can be locked if needed. The Sony connect app allows for many different settings to be changed or controlled. The sound quality of these headphones is top of the line as well. Trebles and bass combined with the noise cancelling makes you feel like you are in another world. All of the sound settings can be adjusted within the app to your liking or preference. I also love that these charge via USB-C as this is a universal charger that many devices now use. In addition to that, the battery life is one of the highest on the market. Fast charging can offer 5 hours of life off of a 10 minute charge which is great if you forgot to charge them but did not have much time to charge them up. The only negative thing I can say about these headphones is the battery indicator seemed to be having issues. I believe this will be addressed right away in a software update but it would say 100% then 0% then 50% and back to 100%. It is possible that after a complete cycle of the battery this could be fixed as well. These headphones are worth every penny for anyone who travels or commutes and just wants to tune out the world. I have yet to experience something better in any other noise cancelling headphone.

Best Wireless Headset Ever IMHO
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I waited with great anticipation to get these Sony WH-1000XM3 headphones off the FedEx truck, so out of the box and on to the USB charger they went. Since the charge light went out, they were on my head steadily for 3 hours except for supper. (It would have been rude to grunt and nod at people while wearing them.... ;) What a comfortable, awesome set of phones. Sony has hit it out of the park with these, even at this price. I had them connected within a minute to my phone, and went looking in my media server on my PC for something to impress myself. I chose some songs from the remastered Yes albums from the early 70's. Wow. It's great to find how stereo sound can be brought to such life with a product like this. The thing that impresses me the most is how wide and spacious music sounds here--such balanced highs and mid-range, with the bass punched up a bit more thru the Sony Connect app on the phone. What made it even more impressive was the "Optimizer" function accessed by a button on the left ear piece that also controls the Noise Cancelling and Ambient Sound functions. You hear a series of tones while the Optimizer works, and then your music resumes playing. Only even *better* sounding. Sony must have put a lot of time and effort into the engineering of these phones, they are that amazing. The built-in microphone allows you to take and make phone calls, and give other voice commands to Google on your phone or other assitants elsewhere. It brought Cortana to life on my Windows 10 desktop machine, apparently the first mike she found in a year. I told her to go away--I was listening to music. You can turn the volume up or down with one up or down swipe on the outside of the right earpiece. The instructions say that a forward or backward swipe on the same side can advance or rewind a track in your playlist, but so far that hasn't worked in Amazon Music or Spotify. One firmware upgrade was prompted and performed (the phone with data connection has to be right next to it.) The free Android Sony Connect app has a good assortment of tweaks for the listening experience, including equalizers. I like bass and I get it with these. There is also a free version for Apple products. The battery life is great--even after listening to dozens of songs, experimenting and installing the firmware upgrade it still had about 90% of the charge. These are by far the nicest sounding, most comfortable wireless headphones I have ever used. It has me looking for stuff in my music collection that I now just have to hear on these. Pink Floyd's "Time" is next....
