I never knew what I was missing....
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first purchase of ANC headphones, but, I have been borrowing some pairs from time to time. After my primary headphones had a issue, I figured that it was time to take the plunge. And, as Max Goldman would say in Grumpy Old Men, "Holy Moley" My day life has changed for the better in my opinion. You do not realize how much ambient noise which can be distracting that we put up with everyday until it gets filtered out properly. Long term, I will probably save my ears because I am not turning up my music or movies to overcome the outside noise thanks to it being filtered out. If you have never delved into this life, it is trans formative. I will never not have a pair of ANC headphones again. On the hardware front, the soft case is well organized and small enough for what it is. Its tightly packed so there was no room for it being smaller. It comes with a 2-prong airline seat adapter, a headphone jack cable of appropriate length, and a USB-C cord of not so appropriate length. This is my one small gripe with this package which not apparent when I purchased. I the USB-C, which is only 3 inches long, is only useful if you are charging your headphones next to your computer or a well supported USB port so your expensive headphones do not dangle from a wall like a savage. But, alas, USB-C is becoming a standard and the cables are not hard to come by, but something to keep in mind. The comfort after sometime of use is great. I have been using better quality over ear models for some time and can say that these are a step above. Long term use is comfortable, and I have a Giant Gumball size head. Another not should be that it can get warm after 2 or 3 hours of continuous use around your ears. The app which is available allows the unit to be updated, which one is already available, so that is nice.

Uncomfortable. Noise Cancelation is terrible.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The headphones are a pain to wear after 5 minutes. Noise cancellation only performs better when you crank up the volume sadly.

Game Changer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Everyone is aware of the other very famous brand known for their high fidelity earphones that starts with a B. Have they met their match with this pair of Sony "cans"? TLDR: YES! First I must say, for those with anxiety issues: when you open the package and see how these are folded: fear not! This is how they are supposed to be stored! And stored they are in their very lush and rugged carrying case. Even though these are wireless via bluetooth, a 3.5 to 3.5 cord is included to connect to peripherals as is a usb-a to usb 3 charging cord. Last but not least, and something I haven't seen lately is an in flight adapter! The box claims that a 10 minute charge can provide up to 5 hours of use. A full charge can last up to 30 hours. For now, I will have to take their word for both. However, since I've been using them today I have noticed they seem to be doing just fine with no obvious signs of battery drain. I do have a pair of the competitors headphones. I must say that the highs are higher in the Sony, the midrange seems a lot more "open" (hard to explain), and the lows lower. In effect, one has a better soundstage with these headphones than with the competitor that starts with a "B". At least to these ears. Perhaps the best feature is the noise canceling processor. It's almost scary. It can adapt to your environment, whether you are on a plane, train, office, etc. I had visited my wife's office today to show these to her, and her very loud office-mate was almost completely drowned out! My wife didn't want to give them back... But, I had to write this review, so they came back with me (hehehe). The noise canceling optimizer function is very neat to play with. While it was doing its thing, I tapped on my desk. Once the optimizer was completed, I could no longer hear the tapping. It was like a "real time" noise remover. So I can only imagine its application in areas that have very annoying and repetitive sounds. I was so excited, I forgot to show her how you can also use the "quick attention" feature will lower the volume of music to allow for conversation with a quick tap over the earphone. And the other "swipe" features to turn up/down the volume or skip a track, etc. The noise reduction, the sound quality, and the build quality make this truly a must have for the audiophile traveler. Or, for those in an office environment who want to work in peace!

Noise cancelled
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are amazing. When you turn them on with sound, everything is quiet. It’s like you just turned the sound of life down. With music on you are just fully immersed in sound. I had my girlfriend try to talk to me to see if I could hear anything and I thought she was playing a trick just mouthing words. My favorite feature is when you cover the right ear, it quiets what you’re listening too and amplifies exterior sound to hear someone talk. Really cool. The app also has an equalizer to make the sound yours. Highly recommend.

Worth the money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't write many reviews on products but I do read them and I feel like this was time to wrtie one. First off I'm no audio guru. I know what sounds good to me and these headphones are the bomb. I first learned of these from a Google card on my phone. So I did research and was hearing how these surpassed Bose so I went to BestBuy to try out the previous model and those are great. After hearing music through those and the reviews for these I said I'm gonna order them first chance I get. The sound on these are amazing. It's a difference from the music being up loud vs music being crisp and delivered perfect and these deliver sound great. So many adjustments can be made through the equalizer to get it to your liking. The noise cancelling that you read about or know about is real. You can't hear anything around you. You can come cover the right ear cup and the music goes down so you can hear someone talking to you. It has this auto detect mode to figure out what you doing and adjust the ambient sound to the environment, all done through the app which worked fine with my phone. Previous reports this app wasn't working but I think that was before the actual real release date of these headphones. Some were lucky to have these weeks ahead. I could keep writing but go get them you won't be disappointed..

Incredible sound/cancellation, very light.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is THE pair of noise canceling headphones. Nothing even comes close, sorry Bose. They are effortlessly light to the point of being able to forget you're wearing them. Very comfortable. And they sound amazing. The sonar noise cancellation tweaking is crazy.

Better than the qc35 ii, for now...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have used the bose qc35 ii for six months. (released september 2017) I picked these up about a month ago bc they are the latest in the market for noise canceling headphones. (released august 2018) These pros and cons are directly related to to the bose qc35 ii pros: better noise canceling, crisper audio, killer bass, swipe controls are awesome. Cons: less room in the ear cup leading to an uncomfortable pressure on ears after about 45 minutes of wear, ears will also overheat in about the same time, bluetooth can only connect to one device overall these are currently the best noise canceling headphones for $350 on the market... Bose is set to release their qc45 mid 2019 and I know they will blow these out of the water. In conclusion, they're great for now, but will be useless when bose responds to these mid 2019. So, if you're willing to wait six months you won't be disappointed.

First NC headphones
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm an audiophile on a tight budget(I'm a student) and so far I have had the AKG K619 and Sennheisser HD 598SE and Audio Technika ATh M50X so that's what I will be comparing these to. Overall sound quality and sound stage is falls slightly behind the HD 598SE and it feels kind of similar to the M50X. Slightly more bass heavy than these two but not to the point where it becomes annoying. Compared to the M50x, the M50X has a better soundstage but this headphone feels more organized in terms of overall sound. Although I have never tried any NC headphones before, it feels superb, The second I turned it on and put it on my head, every noises around me disappeared, Also the NC makes it more easier to focus on the music. Overall definitely worth every penny. If you want more detailed review see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZzCCMQ0rkM8&t=817s I decided to buy this after watching that.

Nice but pricey
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have the black pair of Sony’s WH-1000X M3. The packaging for the headset comes in typical packaging. Included in the box are the headset, carrying case, headset cable, usb type c cable for charging and an adapter for airline use. The headphones came with a little battery life but I have charged it over night. I’ve been running off of the same charge for the last couple of days. The box advertises 30-hour battery life and that’s about right. The syncing went smooth on my cell phone without using the app. The app does make the process smoother. I just felt I could sync if faster than downloading the app. The only problem I have had is syncing it with my laptop. It eventually synced but takes awhile. In order to sync you have to power the headset on and hold the button for 7 seconds for it to go into pairing mode. The very first time you power on your device it auto goes into pairing mode. I do wish that the coating on the headphones would be different. It is prone to smudges and grease stains. You will have to continually wipe down the headphones frequently. The headset is lightweight and has great padding on the ear cuffs and headset band. They are super comfortable to wear, but wearing with glasses it does put pressure against the glasses and ears. When playing music when paired to a laptop the quality seemed fine at first however the connection was not stable and started stuttering and disconnecting. It did not work well at all. The problem was a persistent problem and made me not want to use the headset with laptops anymore. The controls. The headset has two buttons the power button and the button to control ambient sound and noise cancelation. The placement of these buttons is perfect. The volume control, pause/play/answer/hang-up, and voice assistant function, forward track/back track are all built into the ear cuff as touch controls. These touch controls are clunky and are not always responsive. The volume and track controls work best. The last work function is the voice assistant function. The function fails so much that it is not even worth using however these defeats the purpose of having hands free if you have to use your phone. The controls are clunky at best. Sound: The sound is good but not great. It doesn’t come through as a full sound; it’s crisp but not full and rich. For the price and the sound I do believe that the price point should be lower. Noise cancelation. Even with the noise cancelation off the sound is muffled the noise cancelation works very well on the device. While having the noise cancelation off if someone comes up to talk to you and you want to hear him or her. They have a build in feature where you don’t have to lift the ear cuff off of your ear. ON the right side of the ear cuff you press and hold the cuff and the mic on the outside of the cuff picks up the sound around you and lets you ear the sounds and the people talking to you. This feature takes awhile to kick in after pressing the ear cuff. It is quicker to lift the ear cuff and hear them. If you can get the headset on sale then pick them up
