Have to admit I was skeptical because I have used Bose and was very pleased but the Sony has at least as good noise cancelling, which was my concern. The different features for volume control are easy to get used to and fun to use. You can tell right away the difference in the sound quality which is more crisp. The wireless feature is the reason I even looked at a new headset and I really like not being attached to a device. Lastly, I am working on the first charge and have plenty of life left, think it still tells me it is on high. Changing batteries was a pain.

Bought these as a gift for my wife prior to our trip to Hawaii. My wife has rarely used headphones in the past and I didn't know if she would care to use them. However, she used these on the trip to Hawaii and continues to use them at home as well as when traveling. I own another pair of noise-canceling headphones that I really like, but these are superior in canceling noise and in comfort. Easy to use and can use wirelessly or using a headphone jack, which we had to have on our flights in order to use the airline's entertainment system.

These headphones are the best headphones that I have ever owned. The noise canceling is top of the line, charging is super fast, and comfortability is unmatchable. I charge my pair for around 2 hours every week and I use them every day a few hours each day. They are extremely comfortable and look awesome. The only flaw is that the headphone case is a little more flimsy than I would’ve wanted. It would be nice to have a hard case option as well.

Before the pandemic...intercontinental flights the ANC and ability to manage volume, next or previous queuing of music with just hand gestures, weight, and over the ear (vs on the ear or in the ear)...this is great. Lovely travel case. Only complaint- it appears to optimized for "gamers". Option to plug in cord or use Bluetooth- but BT is hovelled with voice assistant configuration. So setup is constantly trying to turn on exterior microphone not just for wear's conversation, say with flight attendant or seat mate) without having to take the headset off but- to allow voice assistant commands to execute. From a security/privacy perspective- the infinite do loop to facilitate voice is accepted is not just an annoyance, it is surreptitious collection of personally identifying data for 3rd party mining.

They're comfortable to wear for long periods of time. I used the headphones on a 16 hour flight recently with no comfort issues. The battery did drain to nothing before the flight landed, but I had them on noise canceling for almost the entire flight. Controls are easy to use and the mobile app that manages settings is clear and also easy to use, with explanations of some of the more arcane settings. Noise cancelation is amazingly good. Marginally better than the Bose Quiet Comfort 35. Except for the sensation of moving, you can't tell that your plane's engines are spooling up for take-off. The one thing that's annoying is that some human voices, and particularly people that speak with vocal fry aren't completely silenced. The Bose didn't do well here either. The ambient sound settings are sometime convenient and are easy to configure if you don't wan total silence in some situations.

I have always been a bose everything guy and a few weeks ago I actually purchased the Bose QC 35 II and I did like them alot. I did some more research because someone told me about the Sonys and I actually went back to BB and got the XM3's to compare. Wow did I make an amazing choice. The bass on the XM3's blows out the bose. The sound quality I feel is night and day. The options you have with the XM3's are a lot better in the sense you can listen to the music in so many ways. I returned the Bose 35's the next day.

The Sony WH-1000XM3 noise cancelling headphones have the best sound quality i’ve ever heard! Not only does the music come through at a premium sound, but you are able to alter the sound mode to better suit your music preference. In addition, the noice cancelling feature is incredible and completely drowns out the outside noise to help you enjoy your music even more. I highly recommend this Sony product, especially since there is not another product out there that matches the sound quality, battery life, and fast charging ability!

Great noise reduction and sound quality. The headphones are comfortable and the battery life is amazing. The recharge time is super fast too.

After reading many reviews and agonizing over the choices I finally settled on these Sony headphones and made the plunge. It was my first purchase of a wireless headphone set and I have owned them now for about two weeks. The sound quality is exceptional, even in comparison to other headphones in the same class (e.g. Bose Quiet Comfort). The noise-cancelling feature is intelligent, adjusting dynamically to ambient sound to effectively block nearly all unwanted noise. Sony went a step further by including a tool that detects and adjusts for the ambient pressure, creating a more comfortable wearing experience. And I can't say enough about the built-in on-ear touchpad control. It is an intuitive link to the bluetooth-enabled player (in my case an iPhone 10XR) making it simple to start, stop, move a song forward or backward, or interrupt the music to take a phone call. The only complaint I have is that - out of the box - the only way the headphones can be charged is by using the ridiculously short (6 inch long) USB standard to USB-C dongle. I have figured out how to cope but it would be an improvement to the package if Sony included a 4 or 5 foot long charger cable. While the price was a little bit of a challenge it was still 1/3 less than the comparable Bose Quiet Comfort headphones. And what you get is well worth it. All-in-all I am very happy with it, and Best Buy made the purchase much easier by offering me the sale price, even though the sale itself was still a few days away. I highly recommend these.

These sound great and are easy to use. They are also very comfortable. Its amazing how long they last without a charge.

The sound is unbelievably good with these headphones! So much more detail and they far surpass any other headphones I've had, including Bose and Sennheiser. Just used them on 3 1/2 hr. flight and could have listened longer. Very comfortable and lightweight. Noise cancellation is excellent - heard literally nothing except my music. These were on back order, and having listened to them, I understand why. But it was totally worth the wait. Great value - blows $500-$600 headphones away. Would very highly recommend. Would give more than 5 stars if I could!

Perfect Head Phones for airplane trips. Noise canceling works so good

Awesome headphones!! the noise cancellation on these is freaking awesome. We purchased these at Best buy when headphone shopping. I was wanting to get the beats headphones (everyone has beats and mac setup) but when I tried these the quality of these has no comparison. These are the elite of the elite when it comes to headphones. The style of course isnt the prettiest but the quality and comfort and sound just blows that right out the door.

Compared them to all available at Best Buy at the time. The sound was comparable to the high end Bose. What made me pick the Sony was the quality of the noise canceling and being able to activate a feature that quiets the music and amplifies the sound in the room just by covering the side of the head piece. You don’t need to take them off to talk to someone! The battery life is very good.

The sound is great and very adjustable with the app. The noise canceling is exceptional and with the push of a button re-analyzes the ambient sound and optimizes. For travel and at home simply holding your right hand to the right ear turn down everything and turns on microphone so you can hear and interact with whoever is talking to you (flight attendant, wife, kids). I had 19 in the air and used them during they layover with no need to recharge until I reached my destination. Best headphones I’ve ever heard and ever had!

Incredible set. The noise cancelling feature beats the competitors and i can say that as i own various brands. Sound quality is definately customizable through their app. Wireless feature is great, though if you dont want the bluetooth feature plug in the jack. Worth every penny for the right person looking for incredible sound cancelling technology. The hand over ear unmutes the sound cancelling feature if someone is trying to talk to you, you dont have to remove the headphones. Wish the case was leather black and not covered in gray fabric

I was Super Duper Impressed with these Headphones! The Music I play is crystal clear and the Bass is Amazing ! My Favorite Thing about these are the Noise Cancelation feature it’s so Awesome ! When I activate it everything is silent to the point so nobody can disturb me! I own the Bose QueitComfort 35 and i would choose the Sony over those! These are way to comfortable and can wear them all day long! When I do Flights from AZ to NYC these are Just Amazing! I can’t what else to say! These are the Headphones you should go with!
