These headphones were worth the wait! I previewed several brands and models of headphones and these are definitely worth the price. This headphones are comfortable to wear and the noise cancelling feature is very effective to block out most if not all noise on flights, shared office space and coffee shops.

I ultimately returned these in favor of the jabra active elite 75. These were more comfortable and the noise cancelation was great. However, the jabras sounded nearly as good (not really better/worse, just different emphasis and style) , would be more practical (could wear exercising, working outdoors, smaller, etc) and were nearly $100 cheaper. If they were cheaper it would have been a harder choice but at this price I went for the more usable set.

I waited quite a while to pull the trigger on some new noise cancelling headphones and was hesitant on these because of the price. However, despite the somewhat steep amount Sony is asking you to shell out for these cans, you'll be happy you did after some time with them. The noise cancelling and customization of such on these headphones is excellent and you can adapt them to your needs (i.e. less cancelation while walking city streets and the full amount while on an airplane). The touch controls take a brief time to get used to and comfortable with, but soon become second nature. They wear very comfortably and perhaps the only slight I can give them is that the ear cups are slightly bulky and not quite as streamlined as some other options in this price range. Overall, couldn't ask for a better product out of the box.

Comfortable, excellent noise cancellation, sound excellent while listening to podcasts and videos, decent battery life. Microphone on it not terrific - so use computer mic for zoom calls though it’s fine for phone calls. My mom bought some because she liked mine so much.

I'm going to start this review by outright calling these headphones, THE BEST. I honestly can't help but smile when listening to music with these headphones. I am hearing sounds in songs that I have NEVER heard before lol. Even in songs that i've listened to and sang along to countless times. They really are amazing. Every instrument, every sound effect, every whisper, every lyric, every beat just sounds so clear, and vibrant, and the BASS , it BUMPS just the right amount. I've listened to almost every genre with these on, country, hip hop, metal, mexican folk songs, classical, podcast interviews. you name it. These headphones are tuned so well and honestly sound great no matter what you listen to on them. I initially downloaded and loaded up the Sony Connect app on my devices thinking I would need to tweak the EQ to my liking. I played around with the different presets and the EQ manually and frankly these headphones sound great out of the box and don't really need much tweaking. Sony makes a hand full of presets available, mostly "effects" that give a surround / you're at a concert hall or club effect. I honestly don't care much for them, they're alright but you probably won't use them much. The app does have a function that will determine what activity you are doing based on location and adjust noise cancelling accordingly. I find the active noise cancelling to be perfect out of the box also. I have a window A/C unit in my bedroom that is always humming and interfering with my listening experience. These headphones completely block it out. It's awesome. I have not had the opportunity to test these on a flight yet, But I will definitely bring them along with me. The app also has a feature that adjusts your headphones settings according to atmospheric pressure. I can't wait to test the feature. If you're still reading, let me tell you a little about the the physical aspects of these headphones. Build quality is top notch, the band feels strong and is very comfortable. There are no plastic creaks when you stretch or fold them. The earcups are very soft and comfortable. I've worn them for hours on end without any sort of fatigue. My ears never started hurting or became uncomfortable. They are a little on the warm side, I would imagine they might make you sweat a little if you use them in a warm room / climate. Battery life is fantastic, I haven't had to charge them in 3 days. My phone says they are at 55% battery life, I would guess I've used them for at least 8 hours in the last 3 days. Sony provides a very nice carry case for them, also an aux cable, a very short usb c cable to charge them and an airplane headphone adapter. The swipe gesture controls on the right ear cup are a little too sensitive, i've triggered them by stretching my arms upward or leaning my head against my arm while laying in bed listening. They are welcomed though, it is very intuitive and easier than finding a button to press. On the left cup you have your power on / off button and anc button which also doubles as the google assistant button. Also a very convenient function, I use the google assistant daily and having this feature is a bonus for these already awesome headphones. Another great feature is If you cover the right ear cup with your palm, it lowers the volume and allows sound to come in so that you can hear whats going on around you or if someone is talking to you.You don't have to pause what you're doing or take off your headphones. If you are looking for a great set of noise cancelling headphones, look no further, Buy These , You won't regret it. They are amazing! Pros - Great Build Quality AMAZING SOUND and Noise Cancellation Long Battery life / they charge in under 2 hours with USB - C Very Comfortable Did I mention they sound incredible? Cons - The Sony Connect App could use a little polishing. But honestly, the headphones are great without the app.

I got these for my husband for Christmas and he absolutely LOVES them! He has a larger head and was worried if the would feel too tight but the do not. The noise canceling is top notch. Hearing it talk out an emoji from a text message is pretty fun to lol. Overall i couldn't be happier with this product.

I researched wireless headphones forever before getting these. I have had Bose QCs for a long time to use on long flights, and those are still hanging on, but it was time for an upgrade. Having the QCs for so long I assumed I’d just get the Bose wireless headphones but kept reading review after review saying that these have taken the top spot. After auditioning them a couple of times in the store I agreed. Also - the ambient noise thing is great. A tad annoying sometimes (especially the chime for when it’s shifting modes)? Yes. But on the upside, I can wear them when I walk to work and not worry about getting run over by a truck! The gesture to pause and hear what someone is saying is also awesome - it’s like, “these headphones are from the future, man!” And yes - the sound quality is fantastic. Not super high, high-end, but it’s a wireless noise cancelling headphone. Gets me way closer to the feeling I get grooving in my listening room while I’m walking around or traveling than I could ever imagine from a wireless setup.

These headphones have great audiophile grade sound with fantastic noise cancelation. You really notice it on a plane. They are comfortable and portable with a nice carry case. Whether you are in a quiet room or on a plane, you will have a great sound experience with these headphones.

The noise canceling feature and quality of the sound are the big sell on these headphones for me. Been wearing them a lot lately and after an hour they start to feel uncomfortable. Still, they're the most comfortable over-ear headphones I've tried. Recommend for the sound.

I've been a Bose user for years, frankly these blow all prior Bose headphones out of the water. They are comfortable, offer superb sound, can be calibrated for different environments, and offers an ambient noise setting to hear whats around you .... all with the most full sound I've heard from headphones.

Great value. Excellent sound quality and noise cancelling. The controls are responsive. Fairly comfortable but gets warm like others after a while. I use an android phone with it.

They really do cancel out noise very well. I wear them during many hours of studying and they are really comfortable. I sometimes use them to fall asleep while listening to music.

I had these headphones for the bass and upgraded to the xm4. Worse decision because the xm4 sounds more clear but the bass is killed in it. Xm3 was great so dont upgrade to 4 or 5 if you dont need to

I love these headphones, Great battery life , Great sound. I will never go back to wearing earbuds. These are so worth money and dont have to access your device to skip songs and adjust volume. Just pretty much swipe the side of the earphone and you can skip to the next track

While a bit pricey, these headphones are premium quality. Fit comfortably and are pretty light weight. The audio quality is phenomenal. Love listening to the Dead and Phish with these at night. Noise canceling tech is magic and adds to the great audio experience.

I loved it from the moment I bought it. I used it more than a couple of times especially during flight journeys and I see that difference. The battery is lasting longer than any other noise cancelling headphones. This is my first noise cancelling headphones and I am loving it

Really nice and comfortable headset. Comes in cute package. Only used once so far in airport. Comfy enough to carry me to transfer flight. Blocked out a lot of plane noise.

This is my second pair of these. I bought the first one two years ago to wear while mowing. Since I mow over 40 lawns per week, these get quite a workout. The first pair finally had a mechanical break in the left ear, but still that seems pretty durable for me. They get hard use, so after wearing them 30-40 hours a week for two years, I'm good with that. Anyway, I think I could have fixed the first pair, but these were on sale, so I bought a second one. The noise cancellation isn't perfect--I still hear the mower. But it's pretty good. My ear doctor says my hearing hasn't changed in two years, so these must be doing the job.

Have been a lifetime user of Bose headphones. After much research, this time I decided on the Sony - WH-1000XM3, and after several months of use, have not regretted my decision. It offers great sound and comfort with no extended use ear fatigue. Have received many compliments on their look.
