It was between the sony and the Bose and while the Bose has a better NC and phone clarity the Sony headphones sounded better for music and I felt were more comfortable. No regrets. great pair of headphones. phone app interface works great.

For Christmas I received Sony XM3 noise canceling headphones. I am really enjoying them- they are great at blocking out background noise, including airplane drone; easily attach to several devices including my TV; are easy to use and very comfortable.

I bought the Sony 1000XM3’s for my sister as a gift. I had previously let her try on my Bose QC2’s and she marveled at the idea of having a pair of noise cancelling headphones for herself. She is a teacher, so she spends very long hours in a cafe creating lesson plans and curriculum. I decided to buy her the Sony 1000XM3’s because I love my Bose QC2’s, but I had already read time and time again about Sony’s superior noise cancelling technology. She was absolutely blown away by the sound quality and noise cancelling capabilities, and so was I when I tried them on. The controls are also much more functional than the traditional single or double button press on the side of my Bose QC2’s. These headphones were an absolute home run. I rarely catch my sister without her headphones on while studying, grading, or reading.

As of this writing, these are still the winner amongst all ANC headphones (in my opinion, of course). It’s also really comfy. One thing I don’t really like is that you can’t change the name of these headphones (yes, I know I’m weird).

I've recently upgraded from my three year old Samsung Level On Pro and I'm completely impressed. Amazing sound, noise cancelling, comfort and nice user adjustments via the app. Even if it's a little pricey it is well worth the investment.

I was ready to pull the trigger on the previous model WH-1000XM2 because almost everything about it besides the weight was better than the Bose QuietComfort 35 II. The noise - cancelling is much better in the M3 and the sound quality is amazing. Don't get me wrong, Bose sounds good but it's mostly midrange sound. These sound better over a wider range. I especially like how much control you have in the app you download to your phone. You're able to adjust the equalizer to tweak that sound to how you want it. It also has Adaptive Sound Control so it can sense when you are in motion or sitting still, if you're in motion it will lower the Noise Cancelling so you can be more aware of your surroundings. Bottom line, it's hard to get your money's worth when paying for headphones, but you definitely are getting the quality to match that price.

This product from Sony is by far the best noise-cancelling headset on the market. The ANC beats Bose hands-down, in sound quality, noise-cancelling and style. Very comfortable to wear and stylish too. The only reason I don't give five-stars...the touch controls (no buttons on this one) aren't as refined as they are on the Bose 700s, but the Bose refinement is not worth the extra $50.

Great sound, workmanship, and design. Build quality to me was better for these Sony headphones for similar at the same price point (i.e. Bose). Nice features. For sound, I prefer clarity over bass (not a fan of Beats) and sound comes through nicely.

These headphones are a very good value for the money. I like clear clean sounding headphones and these provide the great sound I’m looking for. Won’t give you the heavy bass of the Beats line but gives good clean quality sound with good bass.

The noise canceling works great, the touch controls are easy to learn, and the music sounds really good. They do get a little warm as others have noted but nothing crazy. At the moment I think they are the best on the market.

I've had these Headphones for over a Year. I bought the Bose QuietComfort35 Series, originally. The Audio quality of the Bose is sub-standard compared to these. The Sony App allows for a user to mix the music and change the dynamics to each users desire. The Sound Quality is amazing and totally cancels out Open Office Noise. If there's a downfall to these is if you get a Phone Call and you use these in a very busy area. The other caller will hear some background noise that is being cancelled for you. Overall, I bought these headphones for my Wife as well and she absolutely loves them too. When the next generation Sony Headphones get released, I hope they are step up from these so we can upgrade but there's not much room to go up from here!

These have been great so far. I would suggest to explore the "Headphones Connect" app to get familiar with all of the cool features the headphones can do by changing the settings. I'm really enjoying music, podcasts, taking work calls, and also wearing them for the noise cancelling feature. The sound quality is awesome, and you cannot beat the battery life!

I'd heard about the Sony WH1000XM2 and was eager to try these M3's. I've owned some really good headphones over the years from Bose, Beats, Sennheiser and Audio-Technica among others. I heard the Sony M2's could hang with pretty much anything out there, at least among consumer grade. They were consistently highly rated and professional reviewers seemingly couldn't gush enough over them. I never got a chance to listen to a pair of M2's but I can confirm these M3's sound really, really good. I thought my current Panasonic RP-HD605N's sounded really good but these Sony M3's sound phenomenal. The treble and midrange are nice and clear while the bass punches strong without sounding loose or muddy. Listening to music through these is like being in a listening booth. Everything just sounds so clear and sharp with no hint of outside noise. The noise-cancelling works excellent, completely blocking out all outside ambient noise. It's not as good on the other side, with detectable noise leakage but only at high volumes. If sitting in public next to someone, it's better not to blast these if you want to be a good neighbor. Battery life is good for my needs. I get an entire day but I wear it at different times throughout the day, not continuously for long periods. The quality feels solid. Time will tell how well the hinges, wires and plastic parts hold up but it doesn't feel particularly fragile. The faux leather ear cups are buttery soft and very comfortable. I don't feel excessive pressure and they don't make my ears hot. The padded headband is also very soft and comfortable. The gesture driven right ear cup controls are finally easy headphone controls for me to operate. I love the feature of cupping the right ear to instantly mute the headphones and disable noise cancelling so it allows outside sounds in. It's great for when someone has a question, you have to listen to an announcement or other temporary interruptions. The design is also very nice. At first, I thought the black may be too boring looking and that maybe I should have gotten the silver color. However, I really like the black with it's subtle rose gold accents. It's understated just enough to look high-end without going overboard and venturing into flashy. Some like flashy headphones but I don't. That's not a knock against liking flashy. I simply prefer stylish but low key. That's exactly what these are. The Sony companion app works okay so far. It assists with pairing, provides firmware updates and has an EQ along with other sound adjusting features. I use the bass boost preset and even with it enabled, the bass is still nice and clean. Those looking for really deep teeth rattling sonic bass may be a bit disappointed but most listeners will likely find the bass sufficient. Bluetooth connectivity is excellent with no skipping or dropping. It was easy to pair, even through the app. I was initially wary of the app because it had really low ratings with most users complaining about Bluetooth issues. Thankfully, the app works fine and I haven't experienced any Bluetooth issues within or outside the app. I can say that these Sony WH1000XM3's live up to the hype. I felt like some of the reviews were hyperbole based on the enthusiasm of the reviewers but these headphones really do sound as good as claimed. I'm sure some truly pure long time audiophile can find some little issue(s) with these to nitpick but the average user who just wants to hear good sounding music will be more than satisfied. I know I am.
