These are just as awwesome as everyone has talked about. I upgraded my Sony over the ear headphones to these with the added NC... I listened to music Ive heard for years and these made me cry a little. The sound was rich and clear. Even heard things ive never heard before thanks to the delicate isolation features you can tweak in the App. and EQ. Best Buy.

Amazing noise cancelling, extremely comfortable, and well worth the price

I wanted noise cancelling headphones and I love my Sony XB950BT and the amazing sound they produce. I thought these would blow me away. The noise cancelling is amazing, I’ll give them that. But where they don’t get 5 stars is the sound. The bass isn’t punchy enough for my liking and the rest of the range is just average. They’re great for sitting still while traveling, car, bus plane etc. but if you move with these on there is interference with the active noise cancellation that I can only describe as a low rubble that can be off-putting. Over all solid set of head phones. But over priced for sure.

I bought these headphones as my first mouse cancelling set and truly enjoyed their noise cancelling capabilities. Compared to the Bose, the noise cancelling is top of the line. Sound quality is great and clear. The downfall is the heavy base experienced. I like a well balanced sound ambience, specially during long study sessions. The innovative touch controls is also kinda funky and you have to be really conscious about your hand placement when turning volume or changing songs. I actually traded these in for the Bose QC35 ll. The noise cancelling isn’t as effective as Sony, but felt the sound was balanced. Great if you like bass!

These headphones are good and they do block out outside noises, but they are very expensive. They sound good, but not that much better then other sony headphones I have.

I was quite surprised by these cans. Coming from in ear monitors 90% of the time (sennheiser ie500pro/shure se535) these sound surprisingly good. They can be a bit heavy on the base, but an eq can help with that. The noise canceling is otherworldly as well which I was not expecting. Overall a fantastic set of headphones.

The earphones are comfortable to wear, and the clarity is awesome.

The Sony WH 1000XM3 is the closest thing to the perfect over the ear head set that offers unbeatable sound quality, noise cancelation and soft cushioning. Putting these bad boys on makes me forget that I live in New York City - and yes, the noise cancelling on the 1000XM3 is that good. However; there are some things that troubled me... but first lets get to the good before my nit picking after using these headphones for 2 weeks: ----------------------------------------------- WHAT I LOVED: ----------------------------------------------- === NOISE CANCELLATION/SOUND QUALITY (5 Stars) === Having worn the 1000XM3 in the loudest places (walking in the streets of NYC and in the community laundry mat) I have to commend SONY for doing an amazing job with the noice cancellation. Most of the time I honestly forgot how noisy these places can be; which I am quickly reminded of as soon as I take the headphones off or when I temporarily deactivate the noise cancelling by holding my hand on the control panel. Which is absolutely amazing (and a feature I found myself using quite often). SONY Connect App - really simple to use and I love the customization. One of my favorite features is the automatic adjustment of the noise canceling levels according to your position (i.e. sitting, walking, running, or traveling) - keep in mind that in order to use this feature, your GPS must be on in order for detection to occur. Otherwise you can adjust it yourself. Bass is just right; not too loud or muddy. Sound is nice and crisp - as though you're listening in a soundproof room. One feature that I have enjoyed (but probably won't use often) is the ability to change how the music is perceived (via Surround (VPT)) - such as in an Arena, Concert Hall, Club (lots more bass), and Outdoor Stage. But also have the option to equalize according to my own taste. === DESIGN AND COMFORT (4.5 Stars) === Slick, simple, and clean. As soon as I saw the black version, I was completely in love. SONY definitely paid attention to design and followed the general rule of less is more. I love the overall black matted covering but the small accents of copper really gave it a slick modern look. The cushion padding really makes the headset an absolute pleasure to wear - sometimes I forget that I am even wearing them as I am running outside to finish some errands. - As with the headset, SONY also paid a lot of attention to the carrying case as well. Making sure that the outside is hard enough to protect the headset while traveling but without sacrificing its slick design. === CONTROLS/USUAGE/FEATURES (4.5 Stars) === - Power/NFC button are on the left side; After turning the battery on, tap the power button for battery indication. Press NFC button to toggle between 3 modes: ambient sound, ambient sound off, and noise cancelling. - Right side has a touch-gesture controls: swipe up/down for volume control; swipe back/forward for track control; double tap to pause and resume music; and lastly, hand over right ear to allow ambient noise (outside noise) to come through - when you're talking to someone or just want to listen in on outside noise. -BATTERY LIFE: about 30 hours as advertised - give or take factors like volume, noise cancelling etc. But quick charging feature (via Type C) is a life savor, allowing me to reach about 50% battery charge in about 20 minutes. (Talk about quick!) - so no worries there when you forget to charge your headset. ----------------------------------------------- WHAT COULD BE IMPROVED: ----------------------------------------------- Note: I'm just a little nit picky but here are some things that I would like to see improved (if possible for future designs) Loved the matte black but it leaves some noticeable fingerprint marks SWITCHING BETWEEN TWO DEVICES: I've had some issues with trying to switch from using my ipad and iphone; ultimately the only way I can use either device is to completely delete the headset from my bluetooth connection and I would have to reset the connection a few times before it finally gets detected. I've used other bluetooth headsets before without much of an issue when switching between two devices. If SONY can fix this - I would forever be grateful! AUTOMATIC POWER OFF: Instead of turning off at a specified time that bluetooth is connected - it should be turned off at a specified time when the headset is not in use. There have been days that I take my headphones off and forget to turn it off but because it is still connected to my phone, the power drains and by the time I use the headphones again, the battery has already drained. *NOTE: those with long hair, if your hair covers the touch-gesture panel on the right earmuff it would be very difficult for you to use the touch feature (at least it was for me) as it won't be read. I definitely made sure that my hair wasn't in the way when using these headphones. ----------------------------------------------- OVERALL: ----------------------------------------------- Despited my little nitpicking, I absolutely adore these headphones from the design to the sound quality, SONY has outdone itself. It is one of the best, if not THE BEST, set of headphones I own - and the fact that it has made me forget that I live in one of the noisiest cities in the world, it is a HUGE PLUS! I can't wait to try these out in the plane! Look no further - I highly recommend and urge you to invest in these headphones.

i had a choice of either upgrading a set of bose q20 noise cancelling head phones that i have had for 12 years or not upgrading to the next level of bose headphones. After listening to these Sony m3 headphones i was immediately convinced about its quality and performance. used it on a 10 plus hour flight internationally and it lived up to all that has been written and said about it..simply the best.

I purchased these along with Bose Quiet Comfort 35 II to compare for noise cancelling capabilities. These are hands down the best for their ability to cancel noise. I was able to drown out the sound of 3 children and 2 adults just by using the noice cancellation feature of this headphones. Money well spent to assist me while doing graduate work in a busy household.

OK this will be an interesting review the sound quality coming from these headphones fair to good at best if you’re used to relatively inexpensive headphones you’ll think these are great if you’re used to $500 headphones you’ll think they’re junk. The one place that they are amazing and stand out is the noise canceling wow!! I can literally listen to these with other people playing the stereo at half volume in the same room and I hear nothing except my music but if you are an audio file look elsewhere.

These are the best headphones on the market in my opinion, I enjoy them so much and use them much more than I thought I would. The sound is clear and the noise cancellation is very good it’s not completely canceled if your not listening to music but I actually like it because it doesn’t give you that weird feeling that most noise canceling headphones gives. Amazing product!!
