Don't expect these to totally block out all noise. They reduce noise very significant Ly, but have better sound quality than the Bose headphones. The Sony app is very good to customize sound.

It can block out sound and the microphones are great for conference calls. Also being able to link to my phone and computer at the same time makes it worth it. They are pricey but worth the $350.

Multi device support extremely flawed

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was really excited about receiving these but that excitement turned to frustration when I tried pairing these with another device after initial setup from my iPhone. When I tried to setup multi device use, the toggle in the app just refuses to activate. When I tried to connect to another device I paired with such as my MacBook or desktop PC, I am unable to do so without forcing the headphones into pairing mode. There are a several Reddit threads with the same issue even with the latest firmware update. There's just no seemless way for me to go from my phone to my laptop. For $350 plus tax, there’s no excuse for this and I’m hoping it’s just a select few with these defects or just a bad batch. These do sound great, and are comfortable headphones but I'm returning these if Sony doesn't address this. As of now, I can not recommended these headphones until this is fixed.

The sound quality is good for the price. Please be careful with the head band. Since it is plastic it tends to break on not handling properly. Ease of use: In this day and age, it is not great when switching between devices. It does not disconnect automatically when pairing with another device.

good but not good for video calls

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Active noise canceling is very good, it reduces the background to a great extent. can't wear for more than 2 hours at a stretch as it starts hurting my ear and head, unless I take it off for a second and put it back. not a right product for people like me taking zoom / webex / teams calls all day long. Missing the following features which is expected in expensive gadgets like this one. - Can't mute my zoom call from the headphone unit - it can't cut the background noise for people on the other end of my meetings - there is little lag in voice transfer when I speak on zoom meeting - when it is connected to laptop (windows 10) and iPhone, sometimes it disconnects my zoom audio on its own while i'm talking, not sure if this is messing up speak to chat feature. - when connected to conf. call from phone and tap on play/pause button, it kicks me out of the meeting. may be this is just built for music lovers in mind. heading to return this back.

We're glad that you like the noise canceling function of the headphones. It's unfortunate you are already looking to return the headphones because of their comfort and call quality.
Make sure to adjust the headband for optimum fit and comfort. You may be experiencing a symptom called listener fatigue. That is where your eardrums work hard to manage the volume that flows through your ear canal. The louder the volume, the bigger the strain on your eardrums, which then causes the feeling of fatigue. Try lowering the volume or take a break from wearing them for a while. The longer you wear headphones, the more your ears may hurt. You may need to limit your headphone usage.
It is recommended to install the latest software version of the headphones (via the Sony Headphones Connect app) for optimum performance.
