Best noise-canceling headphones...

Bottom line - if you want the best noise canceling at a reasonable price, get these. They go on-sale a lot, so wait if you can. Other than that, it does a lot of things average to above-average, but not necessarily great. Audio is fine, but there are better sounding headphones out there. The app works pretty well and gives you a great deal of customization. Speak-to-chat is a nice feature, but one I think I will rarely use (triggers to easily). The ambient sound control is a good mode, but not as good as a true transparency mode. Adaptive sound control is a nice feature, but I just tend to disable it. The build quality is all plastic, but does not feel cheap. You can get better build quality in other headphones for a premium. The call quality is just ok. It is a step above the XM3's, but still well below a number of other headphones. So, as I said at the beginning, if you want industry-leading noise canceling and a lot of other features done well (but not the best), you should get these. For most people, these headphones will do all they need, and more, so I do recommend them.

Some of the best over the ear at headphones

She had them for years. We replaced them with these because she researched all the Sony headphones and these among the best after she got them, she absolutely fell in love with them and uses them constantly

Incredible features, incredible sound

The amount of different functions don’t has added to these this year is incredible! The first thing is the “headset off, music pause” feature. When you take the headphones off they instantly pause and when you put them on they resume. Super convenient! Next thing is the ambient noise feature. If you place your whole hand on the right headphone it automatically lowers the sound and plays the ambient sound around you, making quick comments to people easy to do without taking off the headphones. The final thing I want to mention is the conversation feature. When you speak the headphones recognize it and pause your music letting in amplified ambient noise, allowing you to have a conversation. It then turns off after not detecting your voice for a set amount of time or when you double tap to resume music. These are just a few features that are already making my life more fun and musical and less difficult. I would definetely recommend these! Reminder that I only mentioned 3 of many many features! I didn’t even talk about automatic noise cancelling based on location, an equalizer in the app, 360 surround sound, personalized sound based on ear shape, and way more!

Solid choice

Not Enough Volume for Home Theater

I bought these to use with my home theater to be able to watch movies with loud special effects so I don't disturb my neighbors. Unfortunately, these were volume limited and did not go any louder than where I have to keep my volume now. Plus, there was a noticeable delay when I was watching streaming services.

Update Firmware: Ensure that your headphones are updated to the latest firmware version. This can sometimes improve performance and reduce latency.
Use a Wired Connection: If possible, use a wired connection instead of Bluetooth. This will eliminate the delay entirely.

Great headphones with great noise cancellation!

It took me awhile to finally decide to lay down the money for them since they are a little pricy, but totally worth it! I really struggle when it comes to finding the right headphones. Earbuds will NOT stay in my ear, no matter what make, model or kind they are...so that leaves me with over-the-ear headphones. I have gen 1 AirPods but I'm constantly adjusting them to make sure they don't fall out...which they still do on occasion and it's really frustrating. I also fly a lot, and trying to listen to music or watch movies while on the plane is always a struggle because I end up holding the Pods into my ear so I can actually hear over the noise. These bad boys take all of that away. The noise cancellation feature is exactly what I was looking for and I love being able to just put my palm to the side to hear what someone is saying to me. I debated between these and the AirPods Max but these won out because of price, they aren't as heavy on my head and they come with a carrying case. Definitely worth the money! Only con, they do make my ears sweat after awhile, but not bad enough to knock them for it.

I bought my girlfriend a pair of Klipsch on-ear headphones a few years ago that she used mostly for flights. Her ears would get sore, so I decided to give my brother the Klipsch and buy her a set of these. She loves them. They sound a bit better and have noise-cancelling.

I loved those and after using these they are definitely a step up. I love that I no longer need an audio cable most of all. They are very comfortable and do a superior job of noise canceling. These are the best on the market. There are plenty of expert reviews out there and all of them are spot on. This is a superior product.

I would say wait for this pair to go on sale if you really want it. There are more cheaper options but this is one of the best wireless headphones you can get on the market.

When looking at the XM5 and 6 being several hundred more, the XM4 still holds now. Not being able to connect to multiple devices at once is a bit inconvenient, but it’s easy enough to pair so I’m not too bothered by it.
