Headphone Upgrade

However, these were tried on in the store and my niece and I both thought they were better than the newer Sony model and Bose. We both have Bose headsets and these Sony are equal to at least the Bose.

XM4 VERSUS XM5

Does not live up to all the hype!!!

The noise canceling is okay but I do not understand how it’s industry leading. They are not that comfy and make my ears sweat. The sound quality is fantastic but they aren’t the loudest. I have also noticed they have a small delay for some reason. Maybe it’s my fault for listening so much to the reviews praising these headphones and me expecting who knows what.

Industry-leading noise cancellation technology means you hear every word, note, and tune with incredible clarity, no matter your environment. These noise canceling headphones feature additional microphones that assist in isolating sound for a reduction of even more high and mid frequency sounds.
Adjusting the headband and the earpads properly can help reduce discomfort while wearing the headphones. These headphones actually support super-soft, pressure-relieving earpads in foamed urethane evenly distribute pressure and increase ear/pad contact for a stable fit.

Worth every Penny

Sound quality is what I expected and the noise cancelling is the best I’ve experienced. The only issue I run into is that my devices will randomly disconnect once and I’ll have to reconnect. After that there aren’t any issues. Love these either way.

I had to go back and re-listen to all my old songs because they sound so different with these on. It's like hearing your favorite songs for the first time again. I got the silver color and this color is also pretty unique and neutral enough that it will match any of your outfits. 10/10 would recommend

Pretty Good Headphones with Slight Problem

The sound is great but the microphone interferes with sound when used. Example, if I use the headset just as music device (ex headphones) it works great. When using the mic (ex. headset) the sounds becomes less clear. We have resolved this issue by using an external mic. The headphones are pretty easy to use with computer (except for stated issue above) and cellphone. BTW, the sound proofing is great. I would recommend these headphones based on just that.

Now I can enjoy reading or watching something on TV without being annoyed. The noise cancellation for him is superb! He could not hear the noise from laundry room nor the TV while listening to music! So this turned out to be a gift to both of us.

I bought the Sony WH-1000XM4 on sale and finally got to listen to what all the hype was about and was not disappointed. These headphones definitely scream quality! I had returned these to get the Bose NC700 headphones. I will be exchanging the Bose 700 for the Sony XM4. The XM4 have excellent base and clear treble. You can really feel the bass which I love. Feels like a rave in my head. The noise canceling is ok. It could be better. I can hear conversation coming from my living room when I’m in my office. Maybe my expectations are to high when it comes to noise canceling. It doesn’t cancel out noise as much as it muffles it.

For optimum performance, make sure that the software version of the headphones is updated (via the Sony Headphones Connect app). The noise canceling function is effective in low-frequency ranges such as airplanes, trains, offices, near air-conditioning, and is not as effective for higher frequencies, such as human voices. Check that the Adaptive Sound Control is turned off. Check the setting of the Adaptive Sound Control on the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app. When the Adaptive Sound Control is turned on, the noise canceling function may become insufficient.
