||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.It’s good. If you have AirPods Pro the noice cancellation on these are about 25% better(in my opinion). AirPods Pro have an overall more clearer sound while these ones tend to sound more cloudy BUT they are one of the clearest over-the-ear headphones I’ve ever owned. They are more bass heavy than AirPods but not as much i would want them to be. In fact, I wouldn’t even categorize them as bass heavy at all even with the equalizer. Basically they give you a nice overall sound.

XM4 Bluetooth with LDAC is amazing

Im using the hifi Tidal streaming service for maximum effect. Im not an audiophile expert, but OMG they sound good. Right now Im hearing the "Alice in Chains MTV unplugged" in Tidal and my ears are in that room.

Great for the gym

The sonys had more bass to where you feel your cheeks vibrating. When someone talks to me at the gym and i start to speak the music stops so i can have a conversation which is really convenient. The material is real good quality.

The one issue is user dependent - which is that the ear cups might bother your ears after a while. If they do, maybe the new version is a better choice. If they don’t, lucky you. The price to quality here now is excellent.

No. I completely understand the purpose it serves under the factor of convenience. The noise-cancellation is fantastic, the call microphones are alright, and the fit and comfort are out of this world, though slightly clampy for a big head like me. What I dislike, however, is how meh and uninspired the sound quality is. I would hope from a headphone this expensive that the sound would at least be much more clear and crisp. Instead, the XM4 has this awful muddyness to it. Personally, I find it to be unbearable, however your mileage may vary, when headphones are all bass. And the XM4's really are just mud and bass. Perhaps this headphone isn't aimed at me, but still, I would love a pair of good travel headphones that don't sound like being drowned underwater while your favorite music plays. If you are someone who isn't very keen or just doesn't care about sound as much as convenience and comfort, these are for you. I completely understand that side, and I would recommend them for commutes. But general listening, you can do way better.

Great value for the price, but an honest opinion

These headphones do a great job at balancing noise cancellation and audio quality. The only drawback is the microphone is spotty sometimes when calling someone.
