Better than Sony 1000XM5 in more ways

These sound the exact same as the XM3s. Only difference is a (poor) attempt at multi-device support. Pros: Sound quality is just as good as the previous version. Option to pause music when you talk (you can only change sensitivity to high or low). Option to pause music when you take off the headset. Multi-device support, BUT, max of 2-devices... lol Cons: 1) Support for laptops is *terrible*: there are two audio outputs ("hands-free", which is used for calls, and stereo, which is used for music/video/etc). If you have a call on your laptop, don't trust this headset to automatically choose the right input/output settings. It's a hassle, and even if I have the right settings during a call, it occasionally just doesn't work. I might hear some static/robot-sounding audio on one audio output, and nothing on the other output. Sometimes these issues are due to browser settings, but Sony needs to simplify this weird 2-channel configuration to make the headset more reliable. 2) In calls on the phone or laptop, people occasionally tell me they can't hear me -- that I sound muffled. It seems to do a bad job at picking up my voice while cancelling background noise. It's really annoying to turn off this $300+ headset and use the laptop/phone's input because it won't pickup your voice in a quiet room.

It's unfortunate that you're not having the best experience when using it on a computer and for calls. Make sure to update the software version of the headphones (via the Sony Headphones Connect app) for optimum performance.
