Hi Samuel, We apologize for any inconvenience. For total convenience, WH-1000XM4 headphones can be paired with two Bluetooth devices at the same time. So when a call comes in, your headphones know which device is ringing and connect to the right one automatically. You’ll also be able to quickly, smoothly switch your headphones to either of the two devices at the touch of a button. The WH-1000XM4 supports Google’s helpful new Fast Pair feature. It lets you easily locate where you left your WH-1000XM4 headphones by tone sound, or checking their last known location in Google’s Find My Device app on your smartphone.

Thank you for reaching out to us. We're glad to hear you like the WH1000XM4. However, we're sorry to hear some issues that you are experiencing with the headphones. Bluetooth communications may be disabled, or noise or audio dropout may occur under the following conditions:
When there is a human body between the headset and the Bluetooth device
In this case, put the Bluetooth device in the same direction as the antenna of the headset to improve the Bluetooth communications.
When there is an obstacle, such as metal or a wall, between the headset and the Bluetooth device
In places with wireless LAN, where a microwave oven is used, electromagnetic waves are generated, etc.
Where there are other wireless communication audio devices or other people nearby, such as in train station premises or on a crowded train

Good to know that you like the sound quality of the headphones. Make sure to adjust the headband for optimum fit and comfort. You may be experiencing a symptom called listener fatigue. That is where your eardrums work hard to manage the volume that flows through your ear canal. The louder the volume, the bigger the strain on your eardrums, which then causes the feeling of fatigue. Try lowering the volume or take a break from wearing them for a while. The longer you wear headphones, the more your ears may hurt. You may need to limit your headphone usage.

We appreciate your review of the WH1000XM4 headphones. Make sure to install the latest software version (via the Sony Headphones Connect app) for optimum performance.

The noise canceling function is effective in low-frequency ranges such as airplanes, trains, offices, near air-conditioning, and is not as effective for higher frequencies, such as human voices. Check that the Adaptive Sound Control is turned off. Check the setting of the Adaptive Sound Control on the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app. When the Adaptive Sound Control is turned on, the noise canceling function may become insufficient.
