Over ears - Sound Clarity.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This is my review of the xm4. The good: sound, noise canceling. but those are things you’d expect. Now on to the bad: WHAT HAPPENED TO THE SURROUND SOUND. had this feature on my XM2s but now the new thing is “360 reality audio” which only works with deezer or tidal. sony is making a big deal out of something that such a small amount of people can use. The app is garbage. crashes when installing the firmware update, randomly sends notifications about ambient sound being turned on AFTER I HAD ALREADY TURNED IT OFF. Sony really could’ve just kept some popular features with the headphones but nope a multibillion dollar company just needs more money.

Posted .Hi Jake, While we are glad to hear that you are happy with the sound quality and noise canceling of your WH-1000XM4, we are sorry to hear it did not meet all of your expectations. 360 Reality Audio requires to sign up to a music service, then connect the Sony | Headphones Connect app to the Sony headphones this will let you enjoy a growing library of 360 Reality Audio tracks, major artists, frontline contents, as well as legendary catalog contents, through our music streaming service partners.
For the notifications, you have the option to disable the notifications of the WH-1000XM4 Sony Headphones Connect app under the [Notification & Voice Guide] please check our help guide link: https://support.am.sony.com/release/Help_Connect_4730254137.pdf page 48.
For the Headphones Connect app crashing, please try to clear cache and clear the data of the application, please see the manual of your smart device tablet or phone on how to clear the cache and data. If the issue still occurs, please try to uninstall the app and reinstall it again.

headaches

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.if you are prone to headaches/migraines i do not suggest these. i wanted these headphones for a year and i was finally able to purchase them after saving up and the moment i put them on i felt ill. unfortunately the positive pressure from the over-ear headphones can cause ear pain and headaches. i did some research and found that many people have this issue w/ them. i wanted to love them but unfortunately they just caused too much pain. to add, they are quite flimsy and if you are using them in any instance where you will be moving your head at the slightest, they may slip off.

After almost a year of use, the ear padding needs to be replaced. I wish it could adjust just a little bit more in the headband.

However, other person on the phone call when connected to the headset complained that my voice was not at all audible. Hence, returned the product with the same comments.
