High quality noise cancelling headphones

I bought them for my upcoming international trip and wanted headphones that have good noise canceling feature. They performed better than I anticipated, my trip was over 16 hours and headphones battery lasted way longer than this, engines noise was barely audible. I was able to wear them for most of the flight without any ears discomfort. In the past I purchased Beats Pro but in less than an hour my ears were hurting from wearing them.

Over the years I have had all sorts of brands including Beats and Sony, mostly on ear versions. Over the ear is clearly better and where these win are with comfort and battery life. The battery is long lasting and the comfort to match. The ability to connect to two bluetooth items is another winning play in my book.

Xm4s reigning champion!!!!

I trialed the AirPods Pro, returned them after a long flight, and the XM5, also returned them. The xm4s are the whole package. -Great compact, semi hard, case because the headphones fold. -Excellent Bluetooth connectivity in my experience (iPhone/Mac) user. -Excellent sound that is tunable through the app. (Missing on apple) -light weight. -noise pass through is the one minor thing that almost as good as apple. I don’t use it much, so I don’t care. The noise cancellation is just as good, if not better than the AirPods Max and xm5s. The xm5s can be buggy in my experience. From a pros/cons side of things the XM4, beat the xm5s, Bose, and AirPod max’s by a lot. Even if they were all priced the same, I’d still chose the xm4 it’s a bonus that you can find them cheaper than their rivals. Way to go Sony! Don’t get rid of this model.

Sony is the best

I like its dual connectivity feature as I usually use my laptop and phone concurrently and I had to switch connection between them with my old headphones. I just wish it took a somewhat shorter time to get fully charged. However, the battery life after each charge is pretty good.

They do a very effective job of reducing/eliminating background noise. They are so effective that when I take them off and you hear the hum of the AC or the whoosh of the air moving, it sounds loud! You get used to the dead quiet very quickly when these are on. It can be so quiet that it may cause some people discomfort, so it's nice that there are adjustments available to allow some amount of ambient noise in. They also pair very easily with multiple devices (I have mine paired with a Mac laptop, a Windows laptop, my phone and an Android tablet). There are tons of reviews on youtube and other places online that go into way more detail that I could in this small area, so check those out, but the take away from all of those other reviews is these are some of the best, if not the best sound cancelling consumer grade headphones. I have to agree with that after testing (and buying) a number of others. I've found these to be pretty comfortable to wear for all day conference calls and the audio quality is great for music and voice. The carrying case is a really important feature for me since it protects the headphones in my backpack when I'm traveling. Overall I'm extremely happy with these and would buy them again if I lost or damaged them.

Great sound quality, sometimes laggy though

Only issue I have is that with short form content sometimes audio lags behind when videos start, after a couple of seconds it catches up though.

Amazing Wireless Headphones

I bought these originally to help with flying anxiety and they served that purpose well but I didn't expect how much I would use them beyond that. I now use them in conjunction with my earpods for mobile listening, swapping between the two depending on the situation. Overall These headphones are amazing. I am very happy with the sound quality. Soundwise gives me everything I want and you can adjust things like the bass in the sony headphones app. The app works well enough and allows you to set the devices your headphones connect to (can have 2 connected simultaneously). The noise canceling performs best on constant sounds (which I think is where all noise canceling functions best). Additionally the sound pass through feature I have found to work as promised. The physical feel and interface is great as well and I love that is has the functions that work with my iphone/ipad such as double tapping the right headphone to pause/play. The headphones fold up nicely into a carrying case that is protective and works great for me carrying these in a backpack.

It’s very easy to hear everything down to the beat in the song with these. Even if you listened to a song in repeat, and felt you listened to it well. Truth is, you didn’t listen to the song well, UNLESS you listened to it with these bad boys. Essentially the questions that are most important, is the battery life good? I could listen to these for 4/5 days and still not having to charge them. Does the sound leak? Yes it does. But it’s very minimal unless you put it at a high volume regularly to blow out your ear drums you will have no problem with sound leaking. Does it work after months of having? Yes it does, BUT there are some points where the headphones stop working or pause when you’re listening, like the audio will go in and out after a while.

I tried the XM5s for a few weeks as well and the only thing I found to be a little better was the quality of sub bass. However it was outweighed by the horrible comfort of the XM5 touching my ears constantly, and I returned them. Enter the XM4, in my opinion the finest in Sony's wireless full size headphone lineup, excellent sound signature with lots of tuneability thanks to the Sony Headphones app. Very versatile for a variety of genres and far better noise cancelling than the XB900 I had previously. Best of all the XM4 comfort is great too. A little shallow in the earcups but nothing a little readjustment of the headphones can't fix. And nothing like the awful XM5s with their paper thin earpads! Long live the XM4!

Super comfortable and great sound quality!

They are super comfortable. The sound quality is also top notch. I love the feature that detects your voice and pauses what you're listening to and the noise cancellation so you can talk to someone and hear what they're saying. The fact that there's an even newer model is crazy. The price point made this model so worth it and it's still so good. I only have two complaints, and they're totally minor. I know at least one of them is fixed with the newer model, which is that I don't like how they're stored. You awkwardly have to twist one side completely and the other bend at an awkward angle to fit in the case, it's judt a strange way to fit the headphones into the case. My only other complaint is that sometimes the bluetooth connection isn't great and the sound will be static-y. All I have to do is disconnect bluetooth and reconnect and it's fixed. Both minor annoyances that still made the cheaper price for the older model 100% worth it.
