Max volume is moderately high. I could have more but my ear drums probably prefer this. Easy enough to connect. Multi connection is bad Gestures could be better, having to swipe over and over to volume control is clunky. Cool feature: putting your hand over the right will lower the volume and cancelling. who really uses the NFC to connect?

Great sound and great ANC

Sony customer support said it is probably caused by moisture buildup in the ANC microphone near the speaker causing feedback. If its within the 1 year limited warranty they will RMA It can also be used while powered off with a headphone amp over 3.5mm if you dont want to use the battery/noise canceling

Sound good, until they don’t

Sounds almost like a blown speaker. I never listen to music too loud and I’ve only had them for a month, so I’m not sure what’s going on. Needless to say, I’m sending them back to the store for a refund. I hope Sony can get they’re quality control back to where it was a few years ago. I’ve had quite a few other Sony products go bad within a year or so of purchase.. Kind of sad to spend so much money for “quality”, but end up getting the opposite.

We regret to hear that you're hearing unwanted noise on your headphones. Please allow us to help you and turn this into a better experience. Make sure to update the firmware of the headphones by performing a software update (via the Sony Headphones Connect app) for optimum performance. Doing so may resolve the issue.

You may hear noise (such as a creak, click, or static) through the WH-1000XM4 wireless headphones when traveling through tunnels, or other environments which air pressure changes easily, even if the noise canceling function is on. When the Noise Canceling function is set to ON, you may also hear a White noise (a small electrical noise with continuous static sound). If this occurs, temporarily turn off the Noise Canceling function. Also, please remove any obstacles between the antenna of the connecting Bluetooth device and the built-in antenna of the headset and keep the headset away from a microwave oven, wireless LAN device, etc.

Wind Noise In Right Ear Cup

The Ambient Sound Control is causing a wind-like sound in the right ear cup. When I turn it off in the setting the noise stops but automatically turns back on because of Adaptive Sound Control if your action changes. The ANC isn’t as good as the AirPods Max but I returned them because of the condensation in the ear cups. I was hoping these would be a keeper because of all the hype I saw and read about them online but sadly in my opinion they didn’t live up to the hype so I’m returning them.

Could not get sound from new smart TV to pair with them and they would only work when wired to my iPad. Ear pads were fine but head band hurt after awhile. Granted, 95% of problems probably could have been corrected if I paid over $200 to contract with Geek Squad to fix, but I sincerely have a problem with the new “smart” technology requiring the services if trained technicians to set them up, especially when manufacturers brag about how easy set up is.

You may slide to adjust the length of the headband to achieve more comfort. This unit requires the A2DP Bluetooth profile for Bluetooth audio. Please make sure that your device supports the said profile.
