Excellent but not worth the upgrade

Thanks for sharing your review and experience with the WH1000XM4. There have been some great upgrades to the WH1000XM4 from the WH1000XM3.
The WH1000XM4 utilizes DSEE Extreme™ (Digital Sound Enhancement Engine) which upscales compressed digital music files in real-time. Dynamically recognizing the instrumentation, musical genres, and individual elements of each song, such as vocals or interludes, it restores the high-range sound lost in compression for a richer, more complete listening experience.
The new WH1000XM4 will reduce noise 20% better than the prior model. It does this in part by utilizing the 5 built-in microphones to remove the directional sound.
Also, the WH1000XM4 features smart listening technology to enhance your listening. With this, you can simply start speaking to automatically pause your music in Speak-to-Chat, or enjoy adaptive playback thanks to the proximity sensor and two acceleration sensors that detect whether your headphones are being worn or not.
Finally, we also gently adjusted the design of the headphones. We added more cushioning to the headband and ear padding. We also changed the outside dimensions of the headphones slightly so they sit more comfortably over your head.

Poor call quality and multi device doesn't work

However multi device connection not working except for calls. Very poor call quality and below par microphones. I bought this manily for zoom meetings and multi device connection, but it didn't serve the purpose. I would have rated higher if it was just for music in a single device. Reached to sony customer support, but no help at all. Very poor customer service.

It's unfortunate you're having issues using the multipoint function of the headphones and the call quality is not living up to your expectations. Didn't work out for me
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I tried to like these headphones as I had a great need for the noise canceling feature so I could hear less of my noisy neighbors and concentrate better while working from home. I found the headphones very heavy and uncomfortable, but my deal breaker with them was the high amount of moisture condensation in the earcups when wearing them for any length of time and the noise canceling produced a constant white noise that could not be drowned out with any music or media playback.

I have a lawn tractor for mowing my grass and these headphones do a great job of blocking the engine noise and protecting my hearing. My only complaint is when I use the headphones walking my treadmill my ears get pretty warm.

Wired connection is garbage.

The Aux cable that it comes with didn’t work fresh out of the box. So I had a 350$ paper weight for my trip. When using the wireless connection and the noise canceling is excellent though. Will be returning to Best Buy to exchange as soon as I get home.
