We're so sorry to hear the WH-1000XM4s haven't been comfortable for your daughter. It’s definitely a letdown when a gift doesn’t feel right and we really appreciate you letting us know.
You might be able to help the headphones relax a little by gently stretching them over a few books or even the headphone box overnight. This can help loosen the tension in the headband so they don't press quite so hard against her ears. You could also try extending the sliders a bit further than you think she needs, as that can sometimes shift the pressure to a more comfortable spot.

Great ANC, but mediocre-to-poor in everything else

Very constrained and muddy - no wired audio over USB-C, only 3.5mm

Great audio. Too much gunk

Kind of embarrassing when you get called on in a business calls and nobody can hear you. Some advertisements in the app. Sound quality is perfect, but they added so many setting that it messed things up. We just need audio, and a mic that you can rely on.
