Hi bookriot, While we are glad to hear that you are enjoying your WH-1000XM4 headphones, we are sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with the right earcup. White noise (a small electrical noise with continuous static sound) is heard. This happens because of the Noise Canceling function. To avoid white noise, turn off the Noise Canceling function.

If you are experiencing white noise while using the WH-1000XM4, please try these steps to troubleshoot the issue with your WH1000XM4. First, please make sure that the headphones are up to date with its software. When the Noise Canceling or Ambient Sound Control is On, the vibration of walking or running may be transmitted from your body and cause noise. To avoid this, turn Off the Noise Canceling or Ambient Sound Control.

If the noise is heard when you push the headphones into your ears, or when you tap the touch sensor strongly. This temporary noise can happen because of the Noise Canceling or Ambient Sound Control function and air-tightness of the headphones. This is normal, and not a malfunction.

We regret to know that you're having constant pressure or a feel of headache on your head when wearing the headphones with noise cancelling turned on. You can adjust the amount of ANC or optimize the noise canceling function on the Sony Headphones Connect App to suit the wearer and see if that helps with any cabin pressure issues you might be experiencing. We're glad that you like the sound quality and touch controls of the headphones. It's unfortunate that you are not having the best experience with its comfort. Make sure to adjust the headband for optimum fit and comfort. You may be experiencing a symptom called listener fatigue. That is where your eardrums work hard to manage the volume that flows through your ear canal. The louder the volume, the bigger the strain on your eardrums, which then causes the feeling of fatigue. Try lowering the volume or take a break from wearing them for a while.
