Thank you for your feedback. We sincerely apologize for the difficulty you've had connecting your WH-1000XM4 headphones to your Apple phone and Android tablet.

Before you start, make sure the headphones are sufficiently charged and are within 3 feet (1 meter) of your phone or tablet.

1. Activate Pairing Mode: Press and hold the (power) button on the headset for about 7 seconds.
2. Confirm Pairing Mode: Check that the indicator light (blue) repeatedly flashes twice in a row. You will also hear the voice guidance say, “Bluetooth pairing.”
3. Select on Your Device: Open the Bluetooth settings on your Apple phone or Android tablet.
4. Find the Headphones: Look for [WH-1000XM4] in the list of available devices and select it.
5. Connection Complete: If prompted for a Passkey, enter "0000". You will hear the voice guidance confirm the connection by saying, “Bluetooth connected.”

We want to help you restore the smooth connection you expect. Please follow these two steps, which are highly effective for resetting the connection:

1. Completely uninstall the Sony | Headphones Connect app from your device, then restart your phone/tablet. Re-download and reinstall the app from the official app store. This clears old cached data and ensures a fresh setup.,

2. Reset the headset: While the headset is connected to a charging cable, press and hold both the (power) button and the CUSTOM button (or NC/Ambient button) simultaneously for about 7-10 seconds.

After performing these steps, try connecting your headphones with the app again.

We're glad that you like the noise canceling function of the headphones. Your feedback about the mic quality is greatly appreciated. For optimum performance, it is recommended to install the latest software version of the headphones. When using a video calling application on a computer, switch the Bluetooth connection to HFP or HSP with the computer. During a video call, sound quality may become low due to the conditions of the communication line. You can also check the settings of the app that you are using for mic sensitivity if available.

In the meantime, please make sure to use the supplied USB Type-C cable and check that the USB Type-C cable is firmly connected to the headset and the USB AC adaptor or computer. Also, make sure that the USB AC adaptor is firmly connected to the AC outlet. If you are using a computer to charge the headphones, check that the computer is turned on. Wake the computer up if the computer is in standby (sleep) or hibernation mode. When using Windows 8.1, update using Windows Update. Restart your computer, and check whether the situation has improved. You may also try resetting the headphones and check if the issue still occurs.
