    Cool set of features.. but basic stuff like selecting play or pause are difficult from the headset aren't easy to use from the headset

    Save your money. I don’t like that you can’t turn them on and listen. About 50% of the time Bluetooth fails and you have to turn them on & off again , or re-pair them. Volume doesn’t respond well and these are an overall pain in the ars.

    Bought these headphones for my daughter and at first she loved them, but lately the sound quality has been less than standard. When i call her and she is on her headphones, you can barely hear what she is saying. We will be returning these headphones.

    Was torn between the XM5 model or these. Everyone said that they are for the most part very similar with a gew execptions but the price was much better during the sales and they are still very good headphones.

    This product is average. My son has a pair of wireless beats and that one sounds much better plus it is more tv friendly. This product would not let me plug it into my Samsung tv for some reason no matter what I do. The sounds is average nothing special. The price in the other hand is truly special.

      Downloading the Headphones Connect app will let you fine tune your music to your preference. In this Application there is an equalizer that can be used to tailor the sound to your liking.

      Also, updating the software of the WH-1000XM4 will help improve the overall performance of the headphones (Version 2.5.0) which you can download and update using the Sony Headphones Connect app.

    Not impressed at all. Sony did not improve these. I have four pair of active headphones. 2 Sony 1000 series and 2 Bose Quiet comforts. The Bose are still by far the better phones. These have many assorted problems and are by far... NO way the best for “Noise Cancelling”... they WORK (sometimes) that’s it. ( yes... VERY “versed” in apps and settings). I will keep as a “back up” but not a happy purchase for the $$$! ~Jerryc

    Great sound but i prefer the earbuds for now.

    Seems like a solid product but bulkier than i expected. The XM3 seems to have better noise cancelation but the sound quality was definitely comparable. My ears are ridiculously sensitive to pressure and this just wasnt a good fit for my giant ears.

    Ive had these Headphones for about 6 months, they have been unreliable to say the least. They randomly start pausing then playing then pausing continuously until you turn them off. They randomly stop playing any sound at all. You have to unpair them and repair them, then set them back up with the app. The app is not very good/ user friendly. I would save $250 and get a cheap pair off amazon, theyll work just as well.

      Hi Mike, We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with your WH-1000XM4 headphones. We'd love to troubleshoot the issues and make this a better experience for you. In the meantime, the pausing issue might be related to the Wearing Detection function. This function can malfunction if the proximity sensor inside the left unit housing gets fogged up or has water droplets due to condensation or humidity. Try leaving the proximity sensor part facing up until the moisture disappears. Ensure you do not touch or wipe the sensor to avoid scratches.

      If the headphones randomly stop playing sound, it might be a Bluetooth connection issue. Ensure that the headphones are not too far from the connected device and that there are no obstructions or interference from other wireless devices.

      If the issues persist, try resetting and reinitializing the headphones. This can often resolve connectivity and functionality problems.

    Noise cancellation is practically non-existent. The mic picks up all the surrounding noise when using for calls.

    Terrible Build Quality

    These headphones started creaking 4 months after I bought them. It's very loud since they are meant to isolate noise so the creak sounds like an old door closing right next to your ear. Just go to the store and handle them to see just how bad the sound is from plastic rubbing, of course they have been handled by many customers in the store, but it'll give you an idea of what to expect over time. Sony says it was my fault and will not cover under warranty, they claim I damaged them or dropped them. Just do a Google search to see all the people reporting this issue.

    I don't normally do reviews, but this product would not charge within the first week. Decided to go with Sony after having Parrot Zik's for years. Parrot Zik's were awesome, but seen the sale price for this Sony product. Bought them and took them on my Florida vacation and they wouldn't charge. Of course, when I got back home, I returned this item. Will stick to buying Sony TVs.
