Break in Audio

I am getting the break in Audio while listening through TV blue tooth. Xm3 is far better than this version.

My least favorite headphones

I guess Sony is not for me in terms of audio gear.

Firmware and Software need to be improved

The Headphone app is also poorly developed and not too useful. Sony should spend more effort on getting the headphones seamlessly connect to devices.

I got disappointed with its mic

Daily I am getting complaints while attending the calls that please speak louder your voice is not coming properly.

Can't go wrong with these headphones
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this item as an alternative to ear buds that just never seem to fit in my ears, and as a wireless solution. These are quite comfortable over a 2 hour period, and are fairly light weight. When used in a rock concert environment the noise cancellation is simply marvelous, enabling one to hear the music and singing without having one's ears blasted out. There does seem to be a slight pressure on the ear drums in this environment, however. Phone conversations in loud environments are also intelligible for the wearer as well as the remote party. Battery life is excellent, and can be queried at any time by pressing the power button. Bluetooth connections are quick and easy with the app. Overall sound quality is excellent. Only negative is this product is not rated as water resistant as I like to wear them on walks outdoors where precipitation can occur without much warning. Still, there have been no problems experienced so far!

Painful and leave marks in hair

They work great. My issues are with pain I am experiencing when I wear them. The top of my head hurts from wearing these. Also, these leave indents in my hair. I am going to try Bose next time.

Adjusting the length of the headband and earpads properly can help reduce discomforts. These headphones actually support super-soft, pressure-relieving earpads in foamed urethane evenly distribute pressure and increase ear/pad contact for a stable fit.

Not at all worth!

I feel these are over priced and not worth at all. The sound quality is fine but other things lack behind can’t use it for more than 30 mins ears gets baked with these plastic cups. I already have XB900N’s and thought to give a try as XM4 are new but when compared I felt XM4 are junk and XBN900N far better in quality and price point. By seeing the reviews thought how people liking these.

We're so sorry to hear the WH-1000XM4s haven't been comfortable for your daughter. It’s definitely a letdown when a gift doesn’t feel right and we really appreciate you letting us know.
You might be able to help the headphones relax a little by gently stretching them over a few books or even the headphone box overnight. This can help loosen the tension in the headband so they don't press quite so hard against her ears. You could also try extending the sliders a bit further than you think she needs, as that can sometimes shift the pressure to a more comfortable spot.
Thanks for considering Sony. We hope these small adjustments make a difference for her.

One side stopped working after 6 months

Resetting and initializing the headset may also help resolve the issue:
Resetting the headset
-Press both the (power) button and the CUSTOM button simultaneously while charging. The headset will be reset. The device registration (pairing) information is not deleted.
If the headset does not operate correctly even after resetting, initialize the headset to restore factory settings.
Initializing the headset
-Turn off the headset while the USB Type-C cable is disconnected and then press and hold the (power) button and the CUSTOM button simultaneously for 7 seconds or more. The indicator (blue) flashes 4 times, and the headset is initialized. This operation resets volume settings, etc. to the factory settings, and deletes all pairing information. In this case, delete the pairing information for the headset from the device and then pair them again.
The unit comes with a 1-year manufacturer's limited warranty. If still not resolved or you need further assistance, please email the below information to socialsupport@am.sony.com.

The noise

While we are glad you find our WH1000XM4 better than AirPods Pro and Bose Qc Earbuds, we are sorry if the noise canceling function of these headphones did not live up to your expectations. If you haven't yet, please follow the instructions below and see if it resolves the problem:
• Make sure that the noise cancelling function is turned on.
• Adjust the headset into a comfortable position.
• The noise canceling function is effective in low-frequency ranges such as airplanes, trains, offices, near air-conditioning, and is not as effective for higher frequencies.
• Check that the Adaptive Sound Control is turned off.
- Check the setting of the Adaptive Sound Control on the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app. When the Adaptive Sound Control is turned on, the noise canceling function may become insufficient.

Buyer Beware - Shipt Delivery Fraud

Upon opening realized I had received the wrong product, and also had someone else's Shipt sticker attached. Store refused to assist with return due to online order. I have been begging for a refund for months now. Have had to return the fraudulent item twice, multiple calls and chats with customer service and still no refund or resolution. Will NEVER purchase from Best Buy again - online or in store. Absolutely ridiculous circle of frustration. And I'm probably looking at eating the cost of this item because of it.

Broke after less than two months

It broke

Avoid At All Costs: Too "Smart" for Their Own Good

Unreliable connection to multiple devices, mystical magical "features" like gesture support that inadvertently disconnect your calls, and a mobile app that causes the headphones to disregard your preferences...but somehow demands that you *disconnect* your headset in order to update the headset software. I expect much better from Sony.
