Best Headphones on the market
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ive had the headphones for a little over a year and can confidently say these are THE BEST headphones you could get. They’re super light weight and easy to travel with. The battery will last days before I need to charge them again, (I use these headphones for hours everyday) and when I do need to charge them I can plug them in for 5-10 minutes and won’t need to recharge them for another day or so. As I said before, I wear the xm4s for hours daily and dont find them uncomfortable in the slightest and even better, they don’t leak sound! The app you can download allows you to customize your listening experience and how much noise cancelling you want. I’ve tried out the Sony XM5’s and still find these to be much better and for a cheaper price as well. If you’re looking for headphones these are definitely the way to go, they work and feel the exact same as they did a year ago when I first bought them. They may be expensive but are well worth it in my opinion.

Overrated product

Worse Headphones

Once I pulled them out of the case, these headphones felt cheap. They didn't feel like I paid $300+ for them at the time. They felt more like a geriatric set of headphones from Walmart. Minor but for me I hated my ears touched the cups. The depth of the ear cups aren't deep enough for my liking and they are not comfortable at all. They feature the ability to connect 2 devices however, this feature is very flawed and doesn't work as it should. I couldn't even use the app so I gave up on it and these headphones. I gave them away, that's how I thought of these.

We regret to hear that it didn't live up to your expectations. The headphones feature an adjustable headband to tailor-fit its comfort to your needs. You may have experienced a symptom called listener fatigue. That is where your eardrums work hard to manage the volume that flows through your ear canal. The louder the volume, the bigger the strain on your eardrums, which then causes the feeling of fatigue. Try lowering the volume or take a break from wearing them for a while. The longer you wear headphones, the more your ears may hurt. You may need to limit your headphone usage.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love these headphones for the sound quality and long-lasting battery life but in my opinion, the noise-canceling feature can't be fully turned off, only lowered, and that can interfere with hearing people or noises around you (but that can be great sometimes!). However, it comes with an app to manage the headphones and I think that makes the listening experience so much more personalized and adaptive! Also, these headsets can connect to more than one device (but can only play audio from one device at a time) and are extremely comfortable so if you're considering buying Bluetooth, noise-canceling headphones that are great for listening to music or tuning out the rest of the world, these are probably the best you will get!

Poor noise cancellation. Not worth the price.

Bought these mainly for noise cancellation. Troubleshooting guide says, it does not cut any noise for people talking / human voices in the background or anything other than low frequency sounds (such as airplane engine..). Not how it is advertised... Practically unusable in a noisy environment.

If the effect of the noise canceling is not effective, please check the following:
Make sure that the noise canceling function is turned on.
Adjust the headset into a comfortable position.
The noise canceling function is effective in low frequency ranges such as airplanes, trains, offices, near air-conditioning, and is not as effective for higher frequencies, such as human voices.
Check that the Adaptive Sound Control is turned off.
Check the setting of the Adaptive Sound Control on the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app. When the Adaptive Sound Control is turned on, the noise canceling function may become insufficient.
With the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app, check the setting of [Ambient Sound Control]. If it is set to [Wind Noise Reduction] or [Ambient Sound], the effect of noise canceling is reduced. Set it to the noise canceling mode.
Disable Speak-to-Chat, and check whether the situation has improved.
Check with the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app whether the function of the CUSTOM button is set to [Ambient Sound Control].

Good sound when they work

They sound great when they work, but that is rare. The Bluetooth connection on this headphone is trash. Even when sitting within 3 feet of the device, song stutter due to the headphones dropping the connection makes me want to throw them against a brick wall. Now, all I have is $350 worth of regret.

I used these for 3 months before the hinge on one side broke. went to geek squad and they tried to make me pay almost what I bought it for just to repair them. the entire hinge/swivel system eventually broke like I thought it would and they won't help me. headphones are now unusable. not covered by sony either.

Maybe it’s due to my mother loving to play music on her hifi systems back in the 90s. The older I get the higher level of detail I need/want. And I’ve learned that not only do you need well designed drivers. But now that noise canceling tech has reached these amazing levels. You can focus the sound quality by eliminating the outside noises and just push the beautiful sound that these Sony xm4s have. Sony has been a leader in sound design. I even use to only use Sony speakers in my old cars back when. They just know how to innovate. They didn’t cut corners on last gen headphones and they took it up a notch. Even if it’s minor. I like many people love how well these cans block out about 99% of ambient sound. They are the best at NC. As far as sound quality goes. It’s near the top of my fave list in this price point. I personally need the thick rich vocals more than the highs. And the bass is super deep and clear. I found my perfect balance through the Sony headphones app. Design is near identical to last gen but that’s a good thing. Light weight and super plush comfortable design. Touch controls are better than other brands. And I have several. Volume up/down and next/previous track all work near perfectly. Cover to talk is great as I don’t like the auto talk feature because I like some people like to rap along or just talk to my self during workouts. So I had to turn that feature off. But I’m sure many of you will find it great. Phone call quality is great as well. But I don’t use them for calls. Just pure music enjoyment. These are by far the best noise canceling headphones and everyone knows it. Couldn’t be more happy. These truly are amazing. If you love music and haven’t experienced the Sony tech on these headphones. You will not regret it.

Incredible Sound, Comfortable

The clarity is great and I can hear new sounds in songs that I've been listening to my whole life. As far as sounds, these are probably the best headphones I've ever had. I like the equalizer, as well. There are many settings or you can do your own. I like the preset ones and they have one for speech, which is good for podcasts. The headphones are also very comfortable. They fit completely over my ear and don't feel cramped. The touch controls are great. All my previous headphones had buttons and while they weren't a bother, touch is better. Super simple. Tap twice to pause. On the right side, slide your finger forward to skip forward, back to go back, touch and hold and then slide up or down for volume. A great feature might be that you can place your hand on it and it allows sounds through. There's an ambient sound settings where it will constantly let the sound through, but when off and you want to her something, you just reach up and put your hand flat on it. I can see this being great while walking or on public transportation. I mainly use it around the house, but when you think someone is calling you or that kids are fighting, it's a quick way to see without pausing. Along the same lines, you can have it detect that you've started talking and it will pause what you're listening to and let sound through. A well thought out feature that is very useful. The headphones will even pause when you take them off. One thing that I didn't expect is how much I like the way that these headphones look. They have a rose gold color for the writing and around the charging ports. I've never been a fan of rose gold, but on these black headphones it looks really nice and adds to the feeling of quality that I already have from the sound, comfort and features. I would highly recommend these headphones.
