If you're looking to splurge on audio, sony headphones are a great way to go. I've had a good experience with previous headphones from sony (CH510 was my last wireless one for 5 years) and these have been a great step up from what I've used before. Noise cancelling and equalizer options have been great to screw around with.

these headphones are the best i’ve ever used, and that includes beats! it was like i had never listened to music before when using these. you can hear everything, they are completely sound cancelling and their battery lasts for what feels like forever. i recommend them to everyone!

Looks wise, they are sick looking. Better than the beats and both Bose. Sound quality is amazing but I wish they were louder. The noise canceling is kind of weird though. I hear a weird sound like there is some wind in the left ear when I just have them on with no music or sound playing. The other thing, when I have youtube on and I get a call, the volume of the ringer is low. I can hardly hear it. I turned it all the way up on my iphone SE. Other than that, they are very good quality. Not sure they are worth the regular price though. $279 is more reasonable. It says made for iphone on the box, the ringer should not be that low. the wind thing is very weird. I already returned and got a new pair because the ones I had didn't seem right. The cnet review is useless by the way. The guy acts like they are perfect. They aint.

I got this pair of headphones a month or two ago. So far I've been using them every single day. The sound quality is amazing, comfort with glasses also incredible, and the sound proof feature also amazing. I would recommend these headphones even if they cost a little bit extra.

These headphones are perfect for me. I'm a basshead and these are great. They are comfortable to wear for long periods of time and the clamping force isnt that noticable for me. Ive used these for the gym and to climb and my ears dont get irritated with the sweat and all that. Overall great headphones for most applications, would recommend.

Treble to hard bass. These beauties rock the house! Worth the $$$. Clean sound that satisfies even the most picky of listeners.

The new Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones (I'll call them M4 for short) are the latest (and greatest) in the Sony noise canceling, over the ear lineup. The M4's are packed with high tech features that actually enhance the listening experience. The most important aspect of any set of headphones is their sound, and in this area the M4's excel. The M4's are absolutely the best sounding headphones I have ever owned. The bass response is good, without overwhelming the rest of the sound. Treble is clean and natural, and the soundstage is quite wide and detailed. I believe that the vast majority of buyers will love the sound of the M4's. As for other features, I use the DSEE Extreme, and the LDAC codec, and they do seem to improve the quality of most music tracks. I haven't used the 360 Reality Audio feature. It sounds interesting, but requires one of three music streaming services, none of which I use (the M4's come with a 3 month free trial to one service, so I may try one out later.) Another main feature of the M4's is noise canceling and it works quite well, and I don't feel any pressure on my ears, as with some other headphones that have this feature. That brings me to talk about the wear comfort of these headphones. My longest listening session was about 2 and 1/2 hours without removing the M4's and I experienced no pain or discomfort at all. The touch controls on the right panel have worked flawlessly so far, and are easy to learn. The call quality is also very good. At least one person I spoke with couldn't believe that I was calling with a set of headphones and not actually using my phone. These are the only headphones I would use regularly for calling. Now, I must come to the only complaint I have with the M4's. Set up of the M4's using my android phone (and tablet as well) and the Sony Headphones Connect app was easy, and it worked the first time. However, using my iPad Pro (2018 model, on iPad OS 13.6.1) the app would not complete the set up process, so I am unable to use some of the features of the M4's on my iPad. The touch controls, including activating Siri, do work so the M4's still sound okay, but could be better. That's about all I have to say about the M4's, but I can overwhelming recommend the headphones to everyone.

sound quality is good. noise cancelling is great for car rides and public transport. it's not perfect -- you can still hear some background noise like voices on the radio, etc -- but it ensures that you'll be able to hear and enjoy your music. would not recommend for gym -- they would get hot & sweaty, but they're perfect for everyday use and commuting because of their noise cancelling and long battery life.

these headphones are so amazing the noise cancelling feature truly works and I would recommend them to anyone. for the quality the price point is great. they connect to your device right away after they are turned on and the battery life is great

Very comfortable, last long, and is very easy to use. I enjoy adjusting the volume and switching back and forth between songs just by swiping on the right ear piece. The noise cancellation is good enough for me, though it seems to not block out speaking noises (i.e. higher frequency sounds) as much.

Excellent all around headphones. I bought them for a long flight and they did not disappoint. Comfortable for the long haul. Solid noise suppression and fantastic sound quality with great bass. I normally do not game using headphones, but these have quickly become my audio unit of choice.

These are hands-down, the best earphones I’ve ever had. I’m a house wife with a big family. These babies block out every unwanted noise. If you’re worried about the price. Still get them. They are so worth it. I’ve had mines for 4 years. Loved them so much. I bought the M4 earbuds. They’re great too. But the headphones finally broke. (They still work fine but the part where they fold broke off. And the left ear makes a loud ringing noise sometimes.) So I’m about to buy the newer version. But if you can’t buy the M5s get those.

Most of the good stuff has been mentioned already! Pros - Punchy bass and awesome music - Good connectivity to 2 devices and switching between device is flawless (iOS and a mac) - Noise Cancellation is out of the world (Bose do check it out :D ) Cons - Been a bose user all along I feel pressure on my head with the headphones on - Voice quality on phone calls is pretty inferior the receiving person has difficulty hearing me, I have QC35 II and NC700 from Bose on both of them the call quality is fall superior. If Phone call quality can be improved through software update, I would give back the missing star.

Sound quality and comfort are amazing. Voice quality not so much. We bought these to use with our cell phones. Returned them because people on the other end of the line couldn’t hear us…said it sounded like we were in a tunnel. If you’re looking for extremely comfortable headphones to listen to music these are a great choice. If you need to use them to talk on the phone…keep looking. We ended up returning these and purchased less expensive headsets with a protruding microphone..not as comfy but people on the other end could hear us clearly. I was very tempted to keep them for air travel.

i love them so so much the sound quality is phenomenal and noise canceling works wonderfully! only thing i dont love is they have to sit pretty far back on my head because otherwise theyd slip and fall off often! otherwise id recommend these to everyone! also the battery lasts ages ive had them for less than a month and ive only charged them once!

noise cancellation is so good that it freaked me out the first couple of times i used them, they're also really comfortable for me since i prefer over the ear headphones. i live in a loud household, these aren't completely foolproof but they do filter a lot of sound out so it makes working easier.

The noise-cancelling is great. They charge super fast (20min from dead) and last a long time (like 12hrs) on one charge. Great for work. It's nice to have the app to configure things. Simple touch functions.
