Love them! They’re comfortable and fit my small head well. The sound is great and love that I can customize the noise cancellation based on my surroundings.

These are the best Wireless Noise-Cancelling Over the Ear Headphones on the market. Sony really did an amazing job. I got the silver color that has a sultle rich looking undertone that makes a statement along with the unique oval carrying case that fits every convenience. The setup was to the point precise and simple with Sony Headphone Connect App assistance. The Sony Wireless Headpnones size is perfect fit over the ears no adjustment needed. I love the operation from the right cup of the touch sensor control by just swiping up or down to control volume and left or right to advance or repeat a track. Just a couple of taps in the center will pause and resume the music and auto stops to recieve a call while listening. The Sony Headphones can be set to pause or turn off automatic when taken off. Placing your plam over the right cup can let you listen to ambiant sound quickly if you want to hear the TV or activate speak to chat. Last but not least the sound of the Sony Headphones are a five star rating with the 360 Reality Audio Setup sound personlization and the DSEE Extreme combined digital enhancement is clarity and distinction at its best. These Sony Wireless Headphones are the best Noise-Cancelling device I have listened to along with its LDAC Bluetooth audio you can't ask for more.

When I first took these out of the box, I put them on charge while I read the instructions, and after 2 hours they indicated fully charged so I followed the easy quick start guide and downloaded the headphones app from the Play store. i followed the simple instructions and paired them to my phone. The app instructed me on how to adjust a few of the settings, and then it played a few test tones to customize the noise canceling feature to my ears. The speakers sounded great right out of the box, but I used the app to change the EQ settings more to my taste. The bass response on these headphones is outstanding. I played a few test tone sweeps and the headphones handled the full frequency sweeps perfectly and never broke up or crackled. The volume plays loud enough that I rarely even turned them up even half way. I love the auto pause feature when I start talking, and I like that the headphones pipe in my voice when I'm speaking so that I can hear myself and I'm not shouting when talking to others. The reason I didn't give these 5 stars is because they do have a few things that I didn't like. Sometimes when they pause the music when I speak, the music never starts again. The noise canceling kicks back on, but I have to tap the headphone cup to get the music to play again. Sometimes the music won't start by tapping the ear cup and I have to pull out my phone and press play on it again to restart the music. The other issue I have is the comfort. They feel pretty good at first, but the padding on the cups is a little bit thin, and the band that goes over my head is skinny and the padding is also a bit to thin. After about an hour I can really feel the pressure on my head and my ears start to hurt. After 2 hours the top of my head hurts, my ears hurt worse, and I get a small headache. So as much as I would like to keep wearing them, I have to take them off due to the pressure. If the overhead band was wider, and the ear cups were a bit larger and padded a little bit more I feel like they would be a lot more comfortable. But then they wouldn't fit in the included hard case, and the price would go up too. Overall I like them, I just wish I could wear them longer than 2 hours at a time.

I’ve had these for more than 6 months and I think they’re the most overhyped tech product I’ve ever used. They have some good attributes, but overall, I wish I had gotten either nice Bose headphones or AirPods Max. Battery life: amazing. This is so good that I think I’ve charged my headphones twice in the 6 months I’ve owned them, even with listening most days. I like that they charge with usb-C. Portability: great. This was the main selling point for me, and a big reason why I didn’t get the XM5s or AirPods Max. For full-sized over the ear headphones, these fold up pretty small and come with a nice case. Build quality: good. They seem pretty durable, and feel good in the hand. They look nice, better than Bose and Beats. Sound quality: mid. After going through the tuning process, I thought the balance was noticeably improved for the music I listen to. However, it’s still a mixed bag. In a quiet room, I think some music sounds better than my AirPods Pro, but other songs sound worse (typically muddier). The AirPods are more consistently good in a quiet environment. The XM4s naturally block more sound and therefore will sound better than AirPods in a noisy environment. I enjoy listening to music much more on my Sonos Arc + Sub than my XM4s. Comfort: bad. I can only wear these for about an hour before the top of my head hurts and my ears get hot. I can’t wear them with sunglasses, which is a minor inconvenience, but would be a major inconvenience if you wear prescription glasses. Interface: terrible. This is the worst part of the XM4s. I want 3 settings: noise cancellation, transparency, and plain headphones. While you can adjust the relative levels in the app, it’s difficult to get this right. Transparency isn’t good enough for a phone call. Also, the voice that tells you what setting you changed to speaks super slowly. And they always default to noise cancellation, which I rarely want to use. They can pair with two devices at once, though I wish it were more devices and more seamless, like my AirPods. They don’t pair with a PS5, which is crazy because Sony makes both.

So far I have loved these headphones. The noise cancellation cancels so much of the background I can hear my tinnitus. They are fairly comfortable and stylish

Sony knocked it out of the park with this headset. After decades of using a certain competitor, I was eager to have a headset with more functionality and features. Right from the box Sony shows you the vast capabilities with the 1000XM4 with features like the dual noise sensor technology. These headphones actively listen to your surroundings and adjust the intensity of the noise cancellation depending on your location. On top of that, the headphones take your compressed music files and restore them to their original high quality glory. You can head a clear difference between these headphones against others in the same class. My favorite feature is the touch control on the ear cups that use familiar sliding gestures to skip songs and turn the volume up and down. Oh and I almost forgot about speak-to-chat... these headphones detecting when YOU are talking and automatically pause your music... and then resumes a few seconds after your done speaking! Sony really stepped it up to show that they are a serious competitor when it comes to active noise canceling headphones.

I previously owned the XM2 and while the noise cancellation was great, the mic not so much. These have a better mic and feel a little lighter, making them easier to wear on long flights.

it’s kind of a long review. It’s been almost an year since I bought it. It’s really good worth the money. Even in 2025 it’s a good deal and keeps up with the market leaders. good active noise cancellation, and the Sound Connect app lets you customize it even more

really great, high quality headphones! the ambient sound setting took some getting used to (feels like i’m underwater) but i really appreciate it for while i’m walking around. the noise cancellation is extremely effective as well. the headphones can be a bit uncomfortable and press on the sides of my head - i think i have a normal size head and have heard similar complaints from other reviews. however getting them on sale was a great option and i like the aesthetic of these better than other models. one thing i didn’t consider was that i have long thick hair and these definitely push my hair out when i wear it down. if you’re looking at these partially as an accessory maybe try them on in store and see if you’re happy with it! connecting and customizing settings on iphone is a bit clunky as well but that’s to be expected

the sound quality is actually so good and they are very comfortable to wear for hours straight. the only down side is how much these headphones leak sound. the volume is barely halfway to the max and you can still hear them leak. wish i knew that before i bought them but it’s whatever, i definitely wouldn’t wear them in public bc i like to blast my music.

I consider myself to be a mid-tier audiophile, and these are one of my favorite additions to my collection. The case these come with is extremely well made with protection from even the highest falls. Also, the ability to use these right out of the box is nothing to scoff at. These use the room sound and your camera to perfectly tailor the sound to your head. It is by far the most in depth process I have ever been through to ensure perfect noise. Of course the app is what is really to give credit to here. These have a wonderful build quality, and the padding is comfortable for even long music listening sessions. The side touch panel for play, pause, and volume works wonders on the fly. Plus the ability to connect to two devices at once is a really nice touch for laptops and phones incase of calls. The side dedicated button can't be used for Siri, but it can be used for Google Assistant on Android devices. On iPhone I recommend using it for the sound optimizer.
