Excellent Headphones!

They are cushioned but don’t squeeze my head too much. The battery lasts a long time. Definitely would recommend to anyone and especially neurodivergent people!

Posted .Hi alost, we are sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with your WH-1000XM4 not charging and Bluetooth connection. We'd love to troubleshoot the issues that you are experiencing and make this a better experience for you. In the meantime, please follow these steps to troubleshoot.
For the charging issue, be sure to use the supplied USB Type-C cable and check that the USB Type-C cable is firmly connected to the headset and the USB AC adaptor or computer.
Make sure that the USB AC adaptor is firmly connected to the AC outlet.

For the Bluetooth disconnecting issue, bring the headset and the Bluetooth device within 1 m (3 feet) from each other.
The headset automatically enters pairing mode when pairing for the first time after purchasing, initializing, or repairing the headset. To pair a second or subsequent device, press and hold the (power) button of the headset for 7 seconds or more to enter pairing mode.
When pairing a device once again after initializing or repairing the headset, you may be unable to pair the device if it retains pairing information for the headset (iPhone or other devices). In this case, delete the pairing information for the headset from the device and pair them again.
If the issue still occurs, please try resetting and initializing the headphones.

We were visiting some friends, and I came down with COVID-19 right at the beginning of our trip. It was too far to get home without mass transportation, so we were responsible, and isolated ourselves from our friends and the world in their little office. Now, I love my boyfriend, but being stuck in a small room with just enough free space for an air mattress for 8 days with only him for company was a challenge to say the least. I'm certain the only reason I didn't strangle him was because I had these lovely headphones that not only blocked out his snoring when he slept, but allowed me to feel well and truly alone in a situation where I could not be. They have a wonderful battery life, and I was able to prop my head in such a way as to keep them on during sleep. They were my escape, and I'm telling everyone I know to get themselves a pair.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Im so happy since the over ear Extra Bass headphones (my first ever sony pair) and thankful i made the jump from Bose to Sony. No i am not an audio expert but coming from a broke af college student that NEEDED NC headphones, Sony has not steered me wrong. I highly recommend these to those that miss the Extra bass headphones but also want the sound quality and sophistication of Bose. These are so comfortable to even listen to ASMR when sleeping. The battery is extremely long lasting. The good thing about the headphones is that they auto shut off after awhile, so you’re never draining battery. Even when i get a “Please Charge” warning there’s at least 1 continuous hour left before the battery is dead. They contain whatever you’re listening to so hardly any sound leak, which i know is important especially in the library or an office setting. I have these permanently at the office and my old XM3 at home :) plus the midnight blue if the perfect compromise color between black and a light cream.

Game Changer on Long Haul Flights

I invested in a pair after enduring 30+ hours of international travel wearing the induction headphones I usually wear when working out and for which they are perfect. However, they are not great for sleeping. my spouse and some of the people on his team have these and they all love them so I decided to invest in a pair. Best decision ever! They are easy to set up, I love the app and ability to adjust the sound and system settings as I partially lost hearing in one ear. They are also comfortable enough to wear on a plane when trying to sleep, which I did with much success on a subsequent 35+ hour international jaunt.

The M5s look sleeker and are a little lighter, but the M4s are sturdier and are a lot more comfortable to me. The ear cushions on my 1st pair started peeling after 3-4 years of every day use, but they are replaceable. Excellent pair of headphones overall. I came back to these because my M5s are unraveling after only 2 years. Definitely worth saving the $100 over the M5s in my opinion.

Best Noise Canceling Headphones Out There!

Their sound quality on LDAC makes my old WH-1000XM2 sound like a 20$ pair of headphones. The addition of an EQ on LDAC makes these headphones really come alive. And the comfort of these new models is worth the upgrade in itself. I decided to make a pros and cons list here: Pros -Sound Quality -App -Wear sensor and Speak-to-chat -Touch Controls -EQ settings in LDAC -Software update speed -No noise canceling pressure Neutrals -The ANC is great, but my WH-1000XM2, at least with AC sounds and other mid-frequency sounds was a little better, but as soon as you play literally anything you hear NOTHING at all, which is better than my XM2s where you could still hear chatter at well over half volume. -Comfort, its good but the BOSE QC45 and 35ii is better Cons -These get hot fast, like really fast -Clamping force is more than I would want -Headband adjustment could be better In the end, if you are looking at Bose, Bowers and Wilkins, Sennheiser, etc these are a really good choice and well worth the upgrade from WH-1000XM2 or MDR-1000X

Decent NC, Unstable Bluetooth Connection
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A few weeks in and hundreds of hours of wear, here's my takeaways: Pros: - Excellent sound quality - Comfortable fit - I wear for 8+ hours a day and have comfort the entire time. Cons: - I bought this for the noise cancelling. Maybe I set my expectations a little too high, but the noise cancelling isn't as good as I hoped. It's still very solid, but I think brands do themselves a disservice by overselling the NC. I have the NC on max (no ambient sound allowed) according to the app, and in the gym I can still hear the music playing in the background and the clattering of weights. It does reduce it a lot, but I'd say it's only about a 50% improvement over my cheap ZVOX headphones. If you buy these headphones expecting it to mute the world around you, you're going to be disappointed. You'll need to have music playing, because if you're listening to podcasts or anything with just voice, you will be able to hear some background (depending on of course how loud the background is - my gym isn't too loud and I can still hear a fair amount). - The connection routinely cuts in and out on my iMac (but not my iPhone). I changed the bluetooth connection in the app to the lower quality sound, but more reliable connection but I still have issues (just not as often as the higher quality sound connection). This only is really an issue when watching videos on my computer. When it cuts out for a sec or two, it'll create a mismatch between the audio and the video, so they won't be in sync. Which would be really annoying if you're watching a TV show or movie.

This is definitely not the news that we would like to hear. Please allow us to help you and turn this into a better experience. The sound quality will depend on the source that you're playing. The headphones are designed for playback of high quality sound. When the source that you're listening to does not contain much of bass sound, the bass sound may not be audible
We want to make sure you are getting the most out of your headphones. Please make sure you have downloaded the Sony Headphones Connect app. There you will find all sorts of tools to fine tune your headphones and maximize the volume to your liking. In the app you can customize the equalizer settings and adjust the noise canceling function.

Very nice headphones

Bought this as an investment for college and I have had no issues using it while studying. However if you’re someone focused on sound quality, this is good but probably not the best. But for its price it does everything it needs to and feels great when wearing.
