I mainly use these for travel and work, and they do an excellent job blocking out background noise. They are comfortable to wear for long hours, the battery life is solid, and Bluetooth connection is stable. Overall, a very reliable and high-quality pair of headphones that’s worth the price.

Great Features Okay Sound

There are many things that Sony does right with these. First of all, the active noise cancelling is phenomenal. Fans, vacuum cleaners, and dog barking are blocked by these. The features in the app are plentiful. Adaptive sound control, noise canceling optimizer, 360 reality setup, equalizer and much more. Sony truly allows its costumers to alter it to their liking. There are lots of other reasons these headphones are great but it does lack in sound quality. It's not that the quality is bad but the mids and highs aren't as crisp as I'm used to. I attribute that to the emphasis in bass. If Sony were to focus on a balanced sound it'd blow every competitor out of the water.

Amazing!

The sound is fantastic and customizable with a basic EQ. You have the ability to connect 2 Bluetooth devices simultaneously, and the ability to use a wired 1/8” headphone connection for non Bluetooth devices. And the battery life is really forgiving, I don’t feel like I constantly have to worry about whether they are charged because of their battery capacity.

The noise cancelation is pretty good as well

This is the mother of all headphones ... for the price, anyway. For a higher budget, you can perhaps find something slightly better but not for the "end of year" 2021 Christmas Season Price which knocked almost $100 off of the MSRP. Noise cancelling is great, comfort is 'all-day', and the sound clarity is pristine - clear highs, clean mids and deep lows - with the ability to customize/EQ the sound to suit your personal taste. Overall, a winner! I would definitely recommend!

Best headphones for the price

I dont game online or use them for phone calls so i cant say anything about the microphone quality but they put out awesome sound and are comfortable to wear for hours on end. Even though they are wireless, a great feature to have with aux ports disappearing, i use them wired always and get a wider, fuller, louder sound. Just my personal preference though. Solid headphones and even at full price are well worth the price

Quality Sony Headphones

So far they work great in the short time I have used them. Some people complained about the bass not being punchy, which I'm not sure why because the sound quality is amazing. I will say the volume doesn't get super loud, which is good and bad. These replaced some Wireless Studio Beats and these are much better quality, both in sound and build. The app has some cool features as well. I'm interested to see how they hold up long term, but so far I love them. (The Midnight Blue color is beautiful)

Amazing sound, amazing noise cancellation

Some audiophile reviewers complained that out of the box, they sound too "dark" and "bass-heavy" (one audiophile compared these headphones to strapping a pair of Toyota Corollas to one's head). I found the opposite. My previous headphones were much darker and more bass-heavy than these. These have much clearer mid and upper range, while still having a nice punchy bass, even if not as punchy as my old H.ear On 2 headphones. If you are an audiophile, you might find the sound disappointing compared to using analog headphones with a $1000 pre-amp/DAC, but every other reviewer I came across praised the sound quality, and being used to cheaper headphones, I have to agree. As with other Sony headphones, the touch controls are super intuitive and easy to use. The noise cancellation is among the best you can get, and this very much improves the apparent sound quality of any music you listen to. I didn't like the Adaptive Sound Control. It's a good idea in theory, but I found that it constantly made "gong" noises while constantly adjusting the noise cancellation levels. I decided it wasn't worth giving up battery life for the constant interruptions to my music, so I turned it off. and manually adjust noise cancellation and transparency as needed. DSEE is a bit gimmicky (it's basically Sony's audio version of DLSS), but as with my older Sony headphones, I find it worth the loss of battery life for a slight improvement in sound quality. I set it to prefer sound quality over connection stability, but for some reason, it is stuck on AAC and won't use LDAC (I'm using an Android phone, and don't have multi-device turned on). I do not use speak-to-chat, as I talk to myself during podcasts, sing along to songs, etc. As with other Sony headphones, you can cover the right earcup to temporarily turn down the music and turn transparency mode on. The music resumes as soon as you remove your hand. Alternately, you can take the headphones off to pause the music. Either of these works better for me than voice-activated transparency. Fair warning: user reviews from older users report that these headphones are not very durable and can break easily. Treat them with a lot of extra care.

Life changing for traveling

Tried the Bose quietcomfort initially and returned them for these instead. I used them on a trans Atlantic flight and it was incredible, couldn't hear the airplane at all. Battery seriously lasts FOREVER and the foldability is very convenient.
