I previously had a pair of Bose, which are also excellent, but in a different way. The Bose have better noise cancelling, but the Sony headphones have better sound for music and are more comfortable to wear for extended periods.

The ANC is the best in the world really - helps so much with my life in the center of a big city. The sound quality is also superb. The only downside is that I cannot really sleep with it on my head, because if i turn to the right side when laying down, the control panel will be activated.

I use them around the house and at the gym and they block noise extremely well. The battery is amazing too. Good but not great; I'd pick the Bose NR 700s

At least in my experience, the Bose 700s were the better choice when compared to these and even the AirPods Max. These improve the XM3 that came before them, but still have lesser call quality issues when using on Zoom/WebEx and the sound is a bit too boomy when compared to more accurate headphones that are priced similarly.

The WH1000XM4 has a self-adjusting headband and soft cushioned earcups that cover the whole ear. You may try adjusting the headband slider so that they cover your ears. This will help give you more personalized comfort. Having unusually dry skin can store static electricity in humans. A large amount of static electricity in the body and having contact with electrical devices at the same time can cause stress on the device and/or on your body. You can avoid this from happening by wearing clothing of natural materials that can't store static electricity. For the call quality, these can be improved by updating its firmware to the latest version (2.0.7). The software includes key features, applications, bug fixes, and feature improvements. Noise canceling or if you want to be able to hear your surroundings as well. The battery life is pretty good while I’m the noise canceling mode.

The sound signature is great for casual listening, don't get these for your dedicated listening sessions for audiophiles, this is not your product. However, if you are used to headphones that come bundled with products, these will blow your mind. The sound cancellation is some of the best I have ever heard and the gesture controls are amazing. The one complaint I have is that one audio codex is not accepted, I forget which one, but it means I cannot use these on my TV wirelessly without substantial delay. Get dedicated tv headphones for that purpose. No issue though on iphone or android

Note: This headset supports the following 3 codecs for music playback via an A2DP connection: SBC, AAC, and LDAC.
The audio playback on the headset may be delayed from that on the transmitting device, due to the characteristics of Bluetooth wireless technology. As a result, the sound may not be in sync with the image when viewing movies or playing games. Please check the AV sync settings or any related settings of your TV to minimize the audio delay. It was jusy time, and I wanted something different. After reviewing the differences between these and the bose quiet comforts, I decided to try these -and I’m glad I did! I would say my favorite aspect of these is the ambient control option -especially mainly using these at the gym, it has been very convenient while talking to people without taking them off. I used to have to hold down the ear buds to turn off the noise cancellation and it got a little annoying, while these did it automatically.

Better than expected

First thing I noticed about them is that they are lighter than I expected but still good quality material and the sound quality is great especially with the different EQ settings. The noise cancellation and the acuracy with the touchpad features ambient sound control is impressive. The pressure on the earpads is not too bad and the earcups have a soft memorylike foam which is comfortable and doesn't seem to make my ears too hot after a while of wearing them. The optimizer does seem to help make the earcups feel a little more natural when wearing them. I got this as a gift for my other half and wanted to test it before giving it to him for Christmas. I'm honestly thinking of investing in a pair for myself. It also really helps with studying and writing reports when there is a lot of noise in the house. The 2 way pairing also seems to be useful when I'm on the phone and using my laptop at the same time and decreases the hassle of having to switch back and fourth as I have experienced with earbuds. The charging cable that came with it is a bit too short but can always use a longer cable so it's not a problem. It takes a bit to get used to the touchpad swiping motions but It didn't take me too long to find certain ways to swipe without much hassle. It also seems to have a good grip on my head as my head is pretty small but I'm glad i can move around and not feel like it's going to fall off. The mic quality seems to be good. However, if the headphones are in a certain angle such as if you were to lay down while on a call, it seems muffled but headphones aren't really meant to be used when laying down so it's not too much of an issue. Otherwise, I think these headphones were worth purchasing so far. I also love how it comes with a hardshell case to carry the foldable headphones and the different cables that come with it which is an extra plus.
