The noise canceling is awesome and does its job. My son has autism and uses the ANC when he's in large crowds. My favorite feature is the quick ambient mode, simple hand over the right headphone and you can have a quick conversation, even lowers your music volume for you, hand off and it goes right back to the volume you had it and noise canceling on. The app works like a dream. Only complaint is it's slow for the app to recognize the headphones are on, but could be my phone or my lack of patience lol Worth the price when on sale

Worth the money

The battery doesn't seem quite as good as advertised, but I often have them on 12+ hours a day and never have to charge them before bed. Noise cancelling is crazy good. I've had these for about 6 months and there are no signs of wear - build quality seems sturdy. I do wish you could have them on and charging at the same time for when the battery inevitably deteriorates.

Fantastic Bluetooth headphones

These Sony wireless Bluetooth headphones are by far the best. They sound fantastic and are extremely comfortable. You can wear them for hours and not know they are there. Noise reduction works great and the right earphone can control volume and song selection. The other day I cut the grass wearing these phones and could not hear the mower. I could have cut another yard or two.

Once I have these on I focus increases like crazy. The only down side is you can’t really talk on the phone if they’re connected, you sound very muffled but that’s a given

Almost perfect with some quirks

Noise cancelling is very good. Sound quality seems also very good. Folds neatly into a small carrying case. Cool color (midnight blue) Needs improvement: This is my personal preference but volume control, swiping up on right cup feels awkward. Forward and backward feels natural. Adaptive sound control didn't work well for me. When I tried it, it kept changing mode every 30 seconds or so. I just turned it off. Overall, I really like it. Even more so when I got money back because price dropped within 2 weeks of purchase

Better than the Bose QC35 II

Owned for 2 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I replaced a pair of Bose QC35 IIs with these headphones, and I would say that while the Bose headphones are very good, the XM4 is superior in nearly every respect, with regard to ANC effectiveness, sound quality, bass. I'm a little annoyed, with long hair, with the double-tap to pause feature though, it takes a few tries to get right sometimes, and I miss having an actual button for that like with the QC35 IIs

Overall good headphones

But switching between devices isn't as seamless as I hoped, and noise cancellation is also much worse than I had expected. However, they are a very solid pair of headphones overall, and they've kept in good condition for 3+ years and many hours of wear.

Best sounding headphones, with one annoying issue

They were very comfortable, easy to use, and sounded great. They could pair with 2 devices at once, so I could use them with my Iphone and Macbook together. I ultimately returned these though due to an annoying hissing sound in the right ear cup. I had tried many things to correct it, but after looking it up online, I saw many people with the same issue. The problem is with the way the noise cancelling corrects for quiet environments. If I deactivate the noise cancelling, the hissing goes away. However, I bought these to be ultra quiet. Hopefully Sony with correct this issue so I can buy an updated version.

I mainly use them at school, and the noise cancelling feature is great when I really need to focus on an assignment. The equalizer feature on the companion app is nice because you can adjust the sound exactly as you like it. It might be better to wait until they’re on sale if you’re on the fence about getting them, but I personally love and recommend them!!!

I was looking at another brand until the associate told me to listen to these before I made my decision. So glad I listened to his advice. Have to add that I have Cauliflower ear and most cheap over the ear brands kill my ears after a few minutes. Not the case with these, I sometimes forget that I have them on.

Superb, Premium Headphones

I use them in the bus and train regularly, and I hear very little background noise. The feature set is unparalleled! These headphones hold a charge for 2 weeks when used only a few hours daily. The voice text notifications, voice battery power indicator, and built-in Google Assistant are super useful features I'd never had on headphones before. If you can afford these, buy them.

They’re nice to use around the house when I’m cleaning, when I’m working and needing to concentrate, or if I simply want to lounge and listen to music. They’re comfortable. The sound is awesome. I like how you’re able to use the google assistant. I contemplated going for the beats because of their price, and I am happy I didn’t make that mistake. These are more expensive, but they are well worth the money spent

Great friend for your ears

However you might have to switch the audio output during a call (on rare occasions, people have complained about not being able to hear me properly). With that being said, the design is really great, the earpads are soft and I’ve spent 5-6 hours straight with no urgency to take it out because of ear pain. It works with Siri but sometimes you will have to be close to the phone so it activates. It’s a device with a lot of potential and I even wonder whether the performance is better when paired with a Sony Smartphone or if it’s the same with all smartphones.

Best bluetooth headphones

I can even sleep on my side with them. it charges with USB C, which is awesome because of the many usb c devices I have. The touch gestures, auto pause when taken off and noise cancellling on these are just some of the features that make it so great. The only negative thing is that it doesn't feel or look all that premium. I guess the lightness of the headphones had to come at a cost from somewhere.
