Purchased these for my wife before a long international flight. She loved them during the flight and has used them constantly since. These are the only active noise cancelling headphones that she can tolerate. They are incredibly comfortable and well worth the money.

So soft and sound is amazing! Noise canceling is perfect! Wish they were a little more snug. I have a small head and they can be a little loose for me. Mostly just if I lower my head.

I recently purchased the Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones, and they have exceeded all my expectations. Overall sound quality is awesome, they drown out noise really well and I love that there’s an app where you can I have seen these go on sale from time to time, but I couldn’t wait, They last extremely long without me having to charge frequently which is a big plus.

I really wanted these to outperform my Bose 700s, since I felt like the XM3s beat out the QC 35s in every way except some small annoying things (manual device switching, one device connection, etc.). I waited anxiously for months for their release and bought them right away. They’re good, but not great. They solved some of the small annoying things, but they still make you very reliant on a pretty non-friendly app interface to control your headphones. The touch controls are ok but it hammers your ear drum when you tap on the ear cups. The ANC and sound quality seemed to me to be almost identical to the XM3s, which I also owned. Very good in both cases, energetic sound, punchy bass, and almost no outside noise and very low hiss. These are really good headphones, but sadly, still not a Bose-killer for me. The 700s have the ANC edge, the phone call clarity edge, the fullest sound, and the easiest setup and app usability edge.

By far the best set of headphones I have owned. Yes, the price is up there but these are premium headphones. I've had them for a month now and I wear them about 5-6 hours a day. Super comfortable and don't give me a headache. I have a pair of wireless Beats and my only complaint is the comfort or lack of it from them just an hour or so into use. The sound stage and noise-canceling options are icing on the cake. The ability to "turn off" the sounds around me is amazing. If you are debating getting these headphones, they are currently on sale, get them! You will not be disappointed.

Great sound quality and noise cancellation. Decent battery life but it's to early to tell since they are brand new. Really comfortable around the ears.

This headphones turn out to be good and they are comfortable I use them in gym all the time they cancellation on them are good as well battery last long too

Talk bout noise cancellation! Not only do I use these bad boys to hit the gym so I can stay focused we let my daughter wear them as ear muffs for her first hockey game because she sensitive to loud noise an she had no problem. Super comfy an just a nice style

I absolutely love these headphones, the reason I went with this brand and model is a recommendation from my son, as he has a pair. He was not wrong, they are comfortable to wear, play sounds precisely, and the noise cancelling is absolutely perfect! When I use noise-cancelling its like I've been transported to a quiet zone made just for me.

First, I’m hesitant to give only 4 stars because after testing several sets of noise cancelling headphones, these were by far my overall favorites (although I haven’t had a chance to test out a pair of Apple AirPod Max yet). Here is a short list of great features, and those that we’re disappointing: Pros GREAT price (for its level of quality) Sound quality (my favorite sound of any headphones) Comfort Sony app (some great custom options) USB-C charging Hardline connection (essential for travelers who want to use inflight entertainment systems) Cons Physical controls on the right headphone (just an absolute mess... I end up skipping songs everytime when I try to change the volume) Sony app (the never ending pushing to allow location to be turned on is annoying and disturbing... RESPECT USER PRIVACY) Overall a fantastic buy with just a couple of flaws especially given the recent price reductions.

Great quality headphones. You'll hear more bass in your audio when you have it under an EQ preset but can be customized in the Headphones app Sony has. The foldable design made me prefer it over the XM5. great for phone calls and how it can connect to two devices at the same time.

I've been eyeing these headphones for over a year and finally cracked after my Bowers&Wilkins PX headphones' left ear piece broke off after a couple years of use (ironically, the same thing happened to my B&W P7s...). Anyways, enough about that, let's get into the actual product at hand. Sound quality: the sole reason why I'm giving these headphones 3 stars (I'm usually a 5 star reviewer). The good: Upon first listen, I was quite impressed with the sound stage of these headphones. It is much more immersive than any other headphones I've tried. The low frequencies were the most impressive: there are tones and depths that I haven't found with any other headphones. The bad: although it has a large sound stage, it really lacks in the middle frequencies. Many songs feel almost muted and muddled. I'm often left wanting more from these headphones, as it the sound often feels like it is missing something. The high frequencies are somewhat crisp, yet much less crisp than B&W (granted they are known for being bright and crisp). And as much of a bass head as I am, the bass is perhaps a bit too aggressive. I can see myself getting exhausted during a multi-hour listening session. While these headphones excel on illuminating low frequencies, the mids and the highs are just quite flat. Reading all of the other reviews, I was expecting the sound of these headphones to knock my socks off, but in reality, I am left wanting something more... Noise-cancelling: I'm quite impressed by the noise-cancelling. It blocks out almost all ambient noise, much more than other headphones I've tried. It also does not violate the authenticity of the music nearly as much as other headphones do. Comfort: quite light-weight and comfortable. I could easily wear these for 5+ hours and not be bothered. My one complaint is the size of the ear cups: they are a bit large and do not create as good of a suction as other headphones do. They are also not replaceable, something I admired about B&W's sheepskin ear cups. Accessibility: it took me a bit to figure out how to adjust the volume and turn pairing mode on but for the most part, it is pretty self explanatory. I would prefer actual buttons rather than the tap/slide feature for play/pause and adjusting the volume. I can see this feature deteriorating over time, and I often have to attempt numerous times to actually pause the music. All in all, these headphones have left me feeling empty. While the sound quality is definitely better than most in its class, it has room to be so much better. If I could afford it, I would likely keep these for commuting and travel and pick up a nicer pair of non-noise-cancelling headphones for at home listening. However, I can only afford one pair of headphones. As such, I wouldn't be surprised if I end up returning these and picking up the Bowers&Wilkins PX7's instead. While I don't expect the PX7 to have as immersive of a sound stage, I expect them to be much more honest about the sound. These Sonys just really lack in exposing and appreciating the mids, especially without having impressive high frequencies to make up for this. They are a solid pair of noise-cancelling headphones for your average listener, although I expect audiophiles to be a bit disappointed by them.

These XM4's are just what I needed. My XM3's are dying and the XM4's have updated Bluetooth to allow for multiple device connections. These may be two versions old, but the XM5/6's do not fold up as compactly and, as reviews point out, the headband may be slightly tighter. ANC is great and the sound is balanced.

These head phones sound good and look good. I also purchased the XM 5’s but like these better. I primarily use them for the gym. They fit better and fold unlike the XM 5’s. If you’re looking for headphones that you can wear for long periods of time. These are the ones!

Great sound, Great feel. XM4 , in my opinion, better product than the XM5 and i see no noticeable sound difference for the non audiophile , Bought on sale so way cheaper than comparable competitor and worth waiting for them to be on sale.

This is an excellent investment, it lasts long, has amazing sound quality, and is simply comfortable to wear, but they do start weighing on you after you have worn them for a while, like for 3-4 hours straight.

i love my headphones! they are the most comfortable pair i’ve owned and they look aesthetic. i use them everyday on my commutes to work and the noise cancelling feature works great to block the sound of trains. very satisfied with my purchase!!! highly recommend and worth every buck.

the best headphones! you can change the settings on the app, and even change the noice canceling. the battery lasts so long, i can go days and weeks without charging them. absolutely love them, and do not regret getting them!

I wear glasses, and find most standard headphones uncomfortable. These are excellent for form fitting softness. The sound quality is great. My only issue with them is the headphones smell like chemicals. That's a deal breaker for me, but not for my spouse.
