    Great headphones with one minor exception. They don't do a good job of cancelling noise when doing calls over the computer. I may be missing something but everything else seems great except that when I use them for conference calls they pick up every little noise around me so that everyone else hears it. That may not be the intended use of these headphones, but I feel like the technology is to a point where I should be able to expect superior noise cancelling functionality in all areas. I have other headphones that are much better at this one aspect but lack in others compared to the WH-1000XM4, so there just may be no perfect headset out there. Overall all I'm very pleased with the headphones, very comfortable, dual bluetooth syncing works well (once you get used to it being a thing), so I'll just have to remember to mute myself more when there's anything else going on in my office.

    I'm an old school audiophile and did research before buying. In addition to high quality audio I wanted maximum noise cancellation. Bose is a gold standard in audio and their noise cancelling technology is highly rated so I tested their headphone first. The Sony seems to be on par with the Bose for less money. I can find no fault with these. They are comfortable, great build quality, impressive sound, and excellent noise cancellation. I wish they had volume control on the headset, but other than that, I would highly recommend.

    I really wanted to give the headphones a higher rating as they are solid for when they were made. The sound quality is great, deep base with very clear vocals, and the ability to customize the equalizer to your liking is fantastic. What's not fantastic is the Tactile sensors, the microphone, and pressure build up from the noise cancelling. The sensors do not respond very well, often skipping what I was listening to and causing me to have to take my phone out and go back; defeats the purpose of the feature. The internal sensor works great but with the wonky touch sensors it ends up playing the sound or skipping the song/episode. The Microphone is horrible. It picks up all of the background noise and not your voice. The voice through feature seamed cool at the beginning but it became very annoying. Anything triggers it, a random sounds, other voices, loud noises, coughing, etc. It makes the experience unenjoyable. Lastly, the pressure. My god, it can be so intense sometimes. You feel it pushing into your head. The pressure can cause some headaches and sometimes a little disorientation, nausea, dizziness/motion sickness. Makes relaxing a bit difficult. I hope this helps you when deciding

      While we're happy that you like the great sound and you're utilizing the built-in equalizer on the Sony Headphones Connect app, we're sorry to hear you're experiencing issues with the touch sensor control panel does not respond correctly. Make sure to update the software version of the headphones (via the Sony Headphones Connect app) for optimum performance.

      When you wear the headset over a cap, cloth, a scarf, hair, etc., wearing detection may not work properly, and the touch sensor control panel may not be available for operation. Wear the headset so that your ears are inside the earpads. We also recommend to clear the touch sensor so that you can tap the touch sensor directly. If the touch sensor control panel does not respond correctly, you may also find this link helpful: https://helpguide.sony.net/mdr/wh1000xm4/v1/en/contents/TP0002758108.html

      The WH-1000XM4 features Precise Voice Pickup technology, which will reduce background noise and delivers clearer voice quality to the other person on the phone. Depending on the surrounding environment, wind noise may increase when the Ambient Sound Mode is turned on. In that case, cancel the voice focus with the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app. If the wind noise is still significant, turn off the Ambient Sound Mode. For call quality, re-establish the connection between the headphones and your source device. Select HFP or HSP for the profile. You can also check the settings of the app that you are using for mic sensitivity if available.

      Your feedback about the atmospheric pressure when active noise canceling is turn on is greatly appreciated. We are sorry, but the WH-1000XM4 doesn't offer a manual atmospheric pressure adjustment. However, it features an NC Optimizer - Optimizing the noise canceling function to suit the wearer.
