The noise cancellation is insane and actually takes some getting use to lol. Huge upgrade from my old headphones. My only negative is they run pretty big. I have a pretty big head and these almost fall off me, especially when I'm working out and that's the main time I use them. Otherwise I love them.

The ears are soft and comfortable for long periods. The noise cancellation is great, as is the ability to switch back and forth. Over ear headphones get warm on my ears quickly, but I don’t think that can be helped.

For your issue, having unusually dry skin can store static electricity in humans. A large amount of static electricity in the body and having contact with electrical devices at the same time can cause stress on the device and/or on your body. You can avoid this from happening by wearing clothing of natural materials that can't store static electricity.

The noise canceling was what I expected outstanding. The quality of the sound was a pleasant surprise I knew the sounded good I listened to them in store but I had a chance to use them on a very long flight and I was amazed at the depth of the sound. I own a really good pair of B&W p7s and I really like their sound but the Sony set really were really quite spot on add the superior noise cancelling and this is my go to for using on flights.

Not what I had hoped for.

In short, the maximum volume is far too low, the sony equalizer app helps but, unless you're an audiologist its "What does this button do?", and lastly the active or adaptive noise cancelation let a ton of environmental noise in. Even its more restrictive setting. I returned and bought another Bose 700.

We're glad that you like the comfort of the headphones. It's unfortunate that you were not completely satisfied because of the volume and Adaptive Sound Control. For optimum performance, it is recommended to install the latest software version of the headphones (via the Sony Headphones Connect app). The overall volume may vary depending on the source content. You do have the option to adjust the volume of the headphones and connected device. The Adaptive Sound Control is designed to automatically adjust the noise canceling function by behavior recognition. You can turn this function off if the noise canceling function becomes insufficient.

Great sound and comfort, finicky software

Bluetooth on Windows 10 PCs can be a little inconsistent at times and so can the app on Android as it can be impossible to connect sometimes. The app is needed to change certain settings like EQs or touch controls. There are times where I have to unpair the headphones from my device, uninstall the app, then re-pair it and install the app again for it to work again as doing the usual turning off and on the Bluetooth on the phone or holding down the power button on the headphones to pair don't always work to get the app functioning properly. It can also be difficult sometimes to update the headphones to the latest firmware as it will not always download it right away even with automatic download turned on. Overall, these are a great pair of headphones, just wish the software side of things could be a bit better.

Wish they were smaller

To improve the responsiveness, make sure you are using the flat part of your finger to tap and swipe, and not just the fingertip.
